Now that the fat man has actually decided to spend some serious money, McClaren will be under a huge amount of pressure if we are stuck down at the bottom 10-20 games in. The fact that either McClaren instigated or accepted Colo getting a new contract, hasn't signed or attempted to sign a LB as far as we know and thinks that the two slow physically challenged dwarves in central midfield are adequate will mean he has absolutely no excuses at all. I can see this going tits up extremely rapidly.

Watching a rerun of the Reims vs Marseilles match on Bein here in the Caribbean. Thauvin definitely playing as a floating number 10 with little or no defensive responsibility. Looks mobile and technical. We have a lot of players who are best suited to this position already including De Jong, Perez and Wijnaldum

The only thing awful about Cabella was his constant failure to not fall over as soon as another player came within 6 feet of him. One reasonable half against Chelsea that was it.

There are two problems, the players he's not picking and then those that he is. Colo should never have been given a new contract and should never be starting. Neither should Haidara though until Dummett is fit there isnt really any other option. Ditto Anita, Colback, Obertan and Cisse. That's a lot of pretty useless players he doesn't need to start. The two outstanding players we potentially have in the squad Aaron's and Ayose don't start, neither does Mitrovic Not impressed so far.

Giving Colo a contract extension is such a ridiculous decision. Probably means he's a certain starter for the next two years as a result. Big wages, club captain, the fat man will want him picked.

We need another LB, another CH, Janmaat is so fucking slow we probably need an upgrade there as well, and two new centre midfielders, apart from that we are pretty mid table indifferent.

Mane is class and should have been playing for us, if our French sniffing scout was as good as he's made out to be.

What was very noticeable today was the amount of teams playing out from the back, all starting with the goalkeepers distribution to start it all off. And tomorrow we will all have the pleasure of watching Tim Krul hoof it as far as possible.

It was just another crap premier league game. This refusal by pretty much every manager to play with two forwards unless they are desperately chasing the game late on, is killing any entertainment on view. Thank fuck for Barcelona.
