  1. Just received an email from the club confirming my row & seat in the standing section.

This basically. Kinda always has been this.

I don’t think these are sold in the ballot (Phase 1). They are sold phase 2 at resell stage when away club has returned their unsold tickets and you can choose your seat I believe. I’m not 100% sure. On a different topic and not solely aimed at yourself but it’s interesting you feel like your son is entitled to a view of the game. When I went for the first game (2 days shy of 40 years ago) also with my dad it was hard to see that much of the game. Even as I progressed to different parts of the ground over the years it was always a struggle to see the action. Some games after an attack or a goal I’d be totally separated from my dad and would take several minutes before being reunited with him. This to me is where the two worlds collide. On one side there are people wanting to watch the match safely whilst others complain about the atmosphere disappearing and hankering for sort of Boca Juniors match going experience. Hopefully over time a happy medium can be found once things like demand and capacity of future expansion/ground become clearer. We’ve just got to remember Rome wasn’t built in a day…

Yeah people can come up with all sorts of possible solutions but none of them will rid the ground of young kids (many wearing headphones for sensory reasons etc) and the ever growing groups of female attendees or whittle out the OAPs or the mobile phone generation playing games etc or the food & drink families or young couples. Rightly so as we try and be a more inclusive and progressive sport. However it’s always going to come at a cost to the atmosphere more often than not. The crowd makeup must be 60% if not more of those I’ve mentioned. The easy passive buy in also during the Ashley years is coming back to bite also. The great atmospheres will always be the exception not the norm going forward. Maybe a new stadium or reallocation of seats with detailed consultation on the type of fan you are so bigger vocal sections can be created is the last throw of the dice and hope their support is infectious to the rest of the ground but likely not. And I appreciate I’ve made some simplistic generalisations in the groups but by and large it is the issue and it’s not solely affecting football. Gigs these days are a far cry from what they used to be due to those that go and where they position themselves with their entitled behaviour or obsession with mobile technology and not living the moment.
  5. Doesn’t even have a seat number on closer inspection. Just says Standing Area and the block number so guessing it’s first come first served for best spot within the block.
  6. They aren’t doing that abroad. Just domestic aways. In Milan it was just a brief glance of passport without even bothering to look at name handwritten on ticket.
  7. Dortmund tickets have arrived. No names or obvious ID references on them.
  8. Am I wrong in thinking his ban ends ready for first game next season? Seems overly officious if he can’t start next season a fresh.
  9. Thinking it’s probably a good thing we get to play them relatively soon. TBH we couldn’t have asked for much better the order our fixtures fell. Maybe Dortmund away first then at SJP would’ve been the only change I’d of made.

And who you sit near. I’ll forgive an odd grumble as we are mostly all guilty of that but if someone is incessant then I’ll question their support in front of everyone. Do others do the same?

You mean like it was pre 90’s with terracing? It be great but the irony is some on here whinging about the atmosphere have been the ones whinging about having to queue to get in the ground 20-30mins earlier than usual. Back in the 90’s under KK we were in the ground 2hrs before KO to get our singing spot. Some people still want to be downing a pint in a pub 10mins before KO then expect a instantly great atmosphere ?

Very surprised to the criticism of the atmosphere as I thought it was fine in the Gallowgate. The team were urged on whilst behind and cheered off for their efforts. Goals change games and they also change atmospheres and we didn’t score yesterday. I do think some of you are a bit unrealistic with your expectations at times in search of some atmospheric narnia. Yes things can be done to improve this over time (choose your seat, new stadium, increased standing areas) but as it stands we’ve still got one of the best atmospheres going. Wether that’s a low bar these days I don’t know.
  13. Yeah waking up I’m more disappointed with the injuries as if we end up 3rd that was all I had hoped we’d do. Performed well. Missed some good chances. Like I said last night it’s a game of margins. Felt we maybe rushed things at time in the final third.
  14. Yet the narrative is we are great they are shite. We are both good.

Atmosphere was fine and constant in the Gallowgate. I’ve asked this before but those whinging do you stand up and confront and cajole others around them? Sometimes that’s all it takes…
  16. Bit of a misstep this … atmosphere was very good especially how game went. https://x.com/worflags/status/1717302837120573574?s=46&t=DDNXUN2PoOBhgKmoF77zNw
  17. Game of fine margins. A timely reminder to those who got/get carried away. Man Utd would’ve won that game at home. #bluetouchpaperlit We are a good team but still a bit green at this level. Quicker you suss out the ref for example the better. Draw would’ve been a fair result but a 0-1 is not a total robbery either. Hopefully we can finish 3rd and regroup.
  18. Everton 12 point deduction… https://x.com/fun88eng/status/1717155471126143022?s=46&t=DDNXUN2PoOBhgKmoF77zNw
  19. Hopefully the fog lifts as they won’t be playing in this currently ?
  20. They aren’t a great team but they are a good team. You confident we are going to beat them next week?
  21. Sign of a good team. Which they are.
  22. I know McCoist is at the game as he mentioned it on the radio the other day about how gutted he was missing the PSG game.

    In memoriam

Everton have many problems but Kenwright was the least of them. R.I.P.
