That and Chelsea wanting a huge loan fee. Wouldn’t be surprised if they want £10m for that alone!
  2. And you give me grief over female artists ?
  3. Apparently not… https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12406001/Premier-League-CLOSE-Financial-Fair-Play-loophole-Chelsea-accounting-rules-UEFA.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailsport No wonder they are going big this year with no European football to restrict them.
  4. I once picked up the ball in the middle of the game whilst still in play one Sunday ? In my defence the pitch had been repainted a couple of yards from it had previously so was going off the faded touchline.

Don’t underestimate or forget how great Burn was and is every time he plays CB.

Absolutely nothing official to back this up but going off my vague memory only Tierney would fit comfortably in our wage structure between the two so the likelihood is only one if them is a possibility. Thankfully out of the two the one I’d prefer but not convinced either will be our real 1st choice target if even position this window.

Still think RCB priority and Livramento will play LB in certain games depending on opposition.

Could’ve mention Darlow but like you say fee almost irrelevant but he did make it clear this Summer. Wood was confirmed after he’d played 3 games but his fee will help FFP. Also if you do the math the £75m approx budget looks right all along with the ASM sale giving us that wriggle room for 1 o 2 financially creative signings it seems. £101-£15.4=£76.4. Add Shelvey sale too and that figure closer to £75m.

    Match Atmosphere

Someone has to start a chant each. If you don’t try at least once or twice don’t bitch and moan (not aimed at you) others aren’t doing so on your behalf.
  11. Excellent ??? Repeat first line and end “with Tonali tonight “ and job done. Get it out there.

    Match Atmosphere

Is this the way to Barcelona? Bayern Munich…Lazio… or Roma… The Geordie Boys are taking over… The Champions League awaits for me!
  13. Rewatched the match after attending yesterday. Just a few quick points overall about first game of the season. Chaos at the turnstiles at the Gallowgate end with massive congestion and delays. Took me 25 times as long as it normally would. Atmosphere on the concourse was great with those getting inside the ground early already in full swing. Match atmosphere for the match great in the Gallowgate. Even when the levelled the fans got straight behind the team. No pitch side clocks was a little odd as doubt it have much to do with the new rules. Wonder if it’s at EH’s request. Predicted the starting 11 and even the first two subs to almost the minute days prior and said the game would be won/lost in the 2nd half 50/55-70/75mins as time and time again on the first game of the season there is always a lull for 20mins as teams get their second wind and I fancied us to get it first having played the extra pre-season game. So maybe I know a little ball after all ? Really liked how we varied out tempo during the game. Obviously I love when we press high in beast mode but you can’t do that all game against good teams which Villa are one despite how we made them look at times when we did step it up. Pope had no chance with goal but did almost everything asked of him really well except when Burn had to help him out. Speaking of Burn as cumbersome as he looks and a few moments aside I actually thought he played well overall with some big tackles and clearances at the right time and his character and commitment is clearly infectious. Botman was very solid but hoping we see him pinging the ball around further and quicker through the lines as that seems to of gone out of his game a little. Trippier as usual lead the team and kept them calm when needed and Schär apart from one great pass could’ve played in his slippers and I wouldn’t of noticed he was that good positionally. Midfield a work in progress clearly and will no doubt get better over time but we have a bit of everything in there from all three which I love. Tonali the standout of the three followed by Joelinton. Bruno not having his best day (never seen him apologise to his teammates so much) which shows how much room there is for improvement but could be something quite special if it clicks. Gordon was the pick of the forwards until he gassed and the Barnes picked up the baton superbly. Definitely has a trademark move (The one two) trademark assist and trademark finish. Actually though Isak had a patchy game first half playing the ball out of touch and not weighing the easy pass to thread Miggy through but it was great to see him what I call centre forward goals and even more so winning two shoulder barges against bigger opponents which I feared he’d be incapable of when he first arrived. Special mention to my boy Jacob Murphy. Great cameo. Made one and should’ve had two assists to his name with Wilson delaying the last minute finish after a great pass from him putting him in one on one and a possible goal if Wilson had of returned the favour when he was open instead of taking the long range lob. Infectious squad player and proving all those doubters wrong. You know who you all are ? Now just for the small matter ofMan City away ? No KDB and a long trip back from Greece after the midweek Super Cup helps us somewhat you’d think though I’ve a feeling Foden will be the main problem if selected. Great to be back though. Let’s hope we are still full of smiles come May… ⚽️???

Really? Seems like he’s been here forever. Thought it be up in 12 months. Definitely the priority player to shift if EH sees no way back for him.
  15. This seasons PP EPL advert. Wondering if I’m reading too much into this than I should ?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Interesting. Not going to disagree as I don’t know for sure but surely a bit odd as Rangers are benefiting from possible seeding in this years ECL if they qualify based on their final appearance a few years ago ? If it is how you say then it’s up to us to get as far as we can (along with the other English teams obviously which you’d like to think they will?).
  18. Around the time his form started to dip iirc so along with ankle issue sleepless nights won’t be ideal. Not sure if you know but his wife is pregnant again so might take a while before his form returns ?

Which you think is in the bag with Man City & West Ham winning both finals. I’ll be honest I’m no expert on how it works and you are correct it is based on coefficient but from what I’ve heard it’s practically guaranteed ?‍♂️

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I would suggest that all clubs like a little wriggle room to be able to do business end of the window as now the season has started injuries can happen and therefore depending on how serious change your whole approach and priorities. Take Aston Villa for example. If they only had wriggle room to make a loan to buy like ourselves it seems (I know they don’t but you’ll see my point) then losing your main midfielder week leading up to your first game with an ACL and effectively putting him out for the season might of change their minds about getting another centre forward for argument sake but then Mings gets a bad injury first game and possibly another season ending ACL so that then might make them to go for another CH instead of midfielder. Loads of clubs will be seeing how the opening 3 or so games going to decide what they finally need which is when things will start to go wild in the transfer market you’d think. So in short cant see us getting anyone until after the Liverpool game.
  23. Was he in the Gallowgate? As the other problem with that end is because of the restrictive space there are no clearly defined queues. It’s just a mass off people forcing themselves towards a turnstile as there is no room to effectively queue in line once it gets too backlogged. Also makes it difficult to physically reach your queue if in the middle of the Gallowgate as the stairs and external concourse is rammed solid.
  24. Glad you took the advice and skipped that 8th pint ??? As for the delays and the causes is fairly straightforward. Imagine previous seasons when you walked to turnstiles and simply slotted ticket in no trouble regardless of which way it was facing etc. Tooks a few seconds. The new system had people holding phone wrong way and the wrong zone (Top one for physical tickets and bottom for digital) then when getting it wrong their phones had auto locked so they had to unlock and try again. Times all those added 30-60 seconds by 52k and you have your answer. Hopefully next game will be a little smoother after this bigger trial run and also people will turn up at the ground earlier and in fairness the club did tell us too. I turned up 5ish so my usual time to compare and got in around 5:25ish only by fighting through crowds to find a shorter queue position. Many missed the KO though. Heard the Leazes wasn’t too bad but the Gallowgate for me was chaos. Lots of frustration with scanners seemingly being temperamental and forcing people to trust only one out of the two at each turnstile point as word spread when actually it was probably that person not using it correctly. As KO got close pushing and shoving started and you could feel the mood changing. Just make sure you are at the ground 15:30-45 for the Liverpool game. Which in a way is a good thing as I always think people getting in the ground early helps the atmosphere. Might deterred the part time element also.

    Harvey Barnes

Great start to his NUFC career both pre-season and now his official debut for us in the league. Have a feeling in certain games he will be very effective. However I’ll judge him after a full season. Going to be interesting viewing how we are this season against a team that parks the bus. Still not sure Barnes is the answer on those occasions but who knows as he seems to have a history of some good long range shooting.
