  1. I can see why you think that looking how the season played out but EH did start with Targett and was never dropped. Just never got back in after injury until fit then was given a chance in the Cup and still didn’t look fit. Meanwhile Burn played his part in the club breaking all kind of club defensive records etc. Made sure he got a game time last couple of games of the season with the last one replacing Burn in his natural position.
  2. I know. I was being facetious at the claim he was good because Fulham had a good season. Should’ve added one of my smileys. My bad ? Remember him in this game. This was just the highlights. Lucky to not score an OG and weak as piss on all three goals. Appreciate that and a couple of other games isn’t a big sample size though ??
  3. I’ll take your word for it as going off a a very small sample size for both. Just going off the two games I attended against Fulham and the couple of games I watched them. Arsenal in particular he was embarrassing in his defending and I’m rarely that critical of any player as you know. Lewis after picking up another injury looks done here unfortunately as can’t stay fit long enough to repay the club in any shape of what was a sizeable fee. Shame for him as EH got a couple of decent games out of him but hasn’t been fit since. So hopefully Robinson would be fitter so that would be a major plus ?
  4. When I’ve seen Robinson he’s looked better going forward than Lewis and worse defending than Lewis. Any improvement overall is marginal which is why I added arguably. If we are assuming we would get no more than £5-10m for Lewis then with a tight budget IMO you’d be wasting the extra £20-25m of it to swap them. Targett is also better than both and age wise coming into his prime.
  5. Both have better players at their disposal potentially? ?‍♂️
  6. Please no. We have Lewis in the squad who arguably no better or worse.
  7. Picturing the scenes when we land Barella and Slob for £65m each ?
  8. Didn’t manage to catch either of the England games. How did he end up doing?
  9. Is there though with our reported budget and EH insistence on a small turnover and integration process each window? (One I fully endorse). If we do they will be young and relatively cheap IMO if the right two come up. I doubt they’d be fully established players for want of a better phrase. Our first window under EH was an absolute necessity due to circumstance but I think the windows we’ve had since are more indicative of the pace of how we will evolve as a squad. All this talk of 5-6 new signings for the 1st team/squad (not yourself) are misguided personally but appreciate I’m there to be made a fool of as window has barely opened.
  10. I’m presuming the depth will come more within. As in we buy two top quality 1st teamers and those who drop out become the depth rather than 2 in 2 out. Any departures I personally feel will be the usual suspects that have been on loan and Fraser. The one that will be debated for sure is ASM but I think I’ve made it clear which side of that fence I’m on.
  11. Agreed. Can’t recall him playing much. When he did he seemed to get injured within a few games. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had missed half of every season he was with us. As a person he’s never come across very well either. Another bad signing under the Souness regime.
  12. Almiron scored more goals than him and his work rate has been absolutely fundamental to our success and basic style of play that EH plans more or less to proceed with. EH wants 2 players that fit that mould and add creativity along with it. Maddison is clearly lacking in one aspect so they’re definitely a debate to have considering our room for error/progressing is smaller than the teams around us. Add to the mix the player’s apparent desire from day one to play in the south would’ve been noted too. We were given encouragement by his agent to make a bid but the information given regarding a relatively low fee proved incorrect. My hunch is it was a sliding doors moment and we’ve maybe got an even more ambitious player in mind that might become available late on in the window whilst not wanting to burn our bridges with Maddison in case his outlook changes as well as the fee drops nearer £30-35m. I might be wrong but it looks like Spurs and us are the only show in town for him. Why no one else is my question back?
  13. Once he’s off pens, free kicks how many goals would you think he’d guarantee out of interest? I’ll admit I’ve not seen every Leicester game he’s played in but the ones I have his assists seem to be threaded progressive passes on counterattacks. Hearing this a lot so not just you about him being the answer to breaking down deep sitting defences but I’ve never seen it. Not sure I’ve seen many teams feel the need to sit deep against Leicester.
  14. Totally agree. Betting firms use inside information for their odds but when the tables are turned they cry wolf like they did with Trippier.
  15. @TheregularsNot coming to us. You’ll be disappointed…
  16. Interesting you mention character because years ago when he was at Norwich (I think) I wouldn’t have touched him with a barge pole and come across as a Beckham wannabe. Since lockdown etc I have to say he’s come across very honest and real in his interviews etc and has won me over on that front. Definitely seems to be maturing and a good egg. Still too much of a peacock on the pitch for me still ? I agree transfer fees just seem a convenient money launder of sorts these days.
  17. Spain win it on pens with a panenka.
  18. We can do that with someone better and possibly cheaper though if smart about it? Never said this at all. Not sure anyone has. It’s clearly not that simple and I’ve tried to nuance where I can without turning into war & peace. Think you’ve assumed a few things ?

What you on about…Your eyes lit up when I told you Rose & Crown used to have topless barmaids upstairs ?
  21. We finished 4th and a cup final without them and they’ve been playing in a consistently better team yet best they got was 5th so does that not say something about the players we already have here ? You can always argue stuff like that both ways and I’m certainly not putting their relegation solely at their door but there’s got to be questions asked of them as they were part of the collective. Lot of Leicester fans were mention on here questioning him and his attitude for parts of the season. You can’t say they were completely blameless. They might of been successful going one way as per stats show but what about the other way which is needed the way we play. He will have more chance of standing out if he takes all the FKs. Penalties and set pieces. If he came here he’d quite likely be off all 3. Possibly the odd FK and corner. Look at the difference of Bruno Fernandez either side of Ronaldo signing and leaving to see my point. If we assume so then we are left focusing on the rest of his game. He’d bring some more potency from long range possibly and has an eye for a pass. So possibly a more mobile Shelvey ? It’s going to be a fascinating watch either way. I just wonder however us getting ECL so quickly has worked against us wanting to sign him more than him now wanting to the move. So despite not qualifying Spurs are still in with a very good shout of signing him. If he’s coming as a 3rd quality midfielder addition and happy to play squad rotation then fair enough but I think he’s at an age he will be expecting to start every game. This and the talk is we are only going to make two quality midfield signings is what is making me think and I guess hope we look elsewhere if having to be smart with our money. That and I think Gordon and even Willock will play at times more centrally than they have previously. Anyway if he’s picked next game I might force myself to watch England and see if I can warm to him as a player a bit more. Not seen him do much previously in an England shirt but I’m guessing that’s down to him not getting much of a look in then unfortunately timed injuries at the World Cup.
