Nah. I think I still prefer Dubs but it’s close so happy to have both.

    Sven Botman

Didn’t Woodgate play in the 2-6 vs Man Utd?
  3. Think he said he played with someone who we hadn’t bought until after he was sold to Spurs iirc.
  4. They aren’t. Passing is something you judge with your eyes. So on that basis Jonjo is the better medium and long passer with Schar probably second. Bruno the better short passer and is very adapt at threaded passes (which I like) and now happening more regularly from medium distance but has struggled a bit when spaying the ball out wide with distance where Jonjo excels. Not seen enough of Botman but has shown potential to surpass Schar. SLongstaff has potential too.

I remember many years ago reading in a book (Possibly The Secret Footballer) that usually when bids are made public the actual deal is already done and it’s just carried out like this so both clubs can claim victory with one set of fans happy they’ve got a good price and the other club showing their fans they’ve fought a hard bargain and tried to keep a player but the player wants the move. The fact there’s been murmurings that the player wants the move might put this deal in this category. Clutching straws possibly ?

Hence why when bidding for anyone it’s important to be sensible otherwise it just sets a precedent for other future deals.
  7. I agree 4 TF contributors not a good look if that’s the case but I dare say you could flip it and say it’s 4 passionate fans. A maximum tenure limit might be something they should look at. A ST isn’t really there to organise protests TBF. IIRC the NUST was only resurrected in the last few years after some strange goings on led to its initial demise. The people involved now are completely different to when it was originally formed and ran into the ground. During the SP and AO campaigns I don’t really recall any NUST presence. Dislike them all you want but Liverpool and it’s fans looked to of shown the way again in its strength of unity.

Out of interest would him playing a qualifier rule him out of any stages of the ECL for another team? I remember them relaxing the rules but don’t recall to what extent.
  10. Not understanding the point you are making in your first sentence. I’m friends with Heron though you never mention that which I find odd and hints at something personal against Greg. They’ve realised they are too busy hence standing down I’d imagine to let others have a go. Can’t see how it’s a closed shop when it’s put to a members vote. Again that hints at something personal against Alex Hurst. Will let Greg answer the next two points and definitely leave it there other than to say when you run for NUST get in touch with me and you’ll have my vote.
  11. My opinion is based on not expecting the world from volunteers and not criticising too harshly when I’ve not volunteered myself for the role. Same as I don’t expect the same level of quality or service from a community hall coffee & cake sale compared to Costa or Starbucks etc. If I base my maths on having been a member for a couple of years and I’ve another 30 years left following NUFC actively the NUST has cost me around 30p a year. They've emailed all their members personally. Is it too much to ask of you to check your emails. Like Greg has explained above (and yes I agree an explanation to their members on this earlier would’ve been helpful as even Greg says so himself) their is an actual benefit to the said charities not rushing to donate a load of money to them perversely because charities these days are just tax free businesses in all but name. The obsession comment was based purely that I don’t see anything on social media #NUFC or in the local press etc that anyone is that bothered about it taking so long apart from yourself and maybe a couple of others on here but usually then after you’ve brought it up. Hopefully there will be an update soon and lessons will be learned that can be passed on to the next democratically chosen volunteers.

Yep. Dortmund got PEA for €13m. AL stayed put then a year or two later Arsenal paid approx £36m for him as well as £56m for PEA. Feel free to Google but figures there or there abouts. Always remember watching Arsenal forward line thinking we could’ve had them both for under £25m ? Ashley’s biggest mistake was not to trust Carr and sign his top picks.
  13. Might help with knowing which players we could attract…

That’s when we could’ve had PEA for £13m and AL for £11m. £6m then is more than £25m is now it seems.
  15. Well you can disagree. Personally think you’ve a bit of an unhealthy obsession with the NUST but then I guess you may of put money into the scheme (?) whereas I didn’t see the sense in it. Changing the chair wasn’t of any great importance to me either. No fan of Alex from afar but in fairness to him I’ve not been introduced to him to form a real opinion but always thought it was a case of him returning to help out as there had been a few sudden departures and Greg had intimated he wanted to step down. Don’t think it had anything to do with the takeover but I might be wrong as don’t follow their goings on that closely. I’d probably only learn of anything when having a drink or playing football with @Greg @Heron Ultimately for £10 lifetime membership I feel like I’ve more realistic expectations of the NUST and those that volunteer to run it than you. Will leave it there. Hope you get the answers you seek soon.
  16. Never personally visited their website but you’d need to be notified to check still and like I said social media just as easy to miss. Not saying they couldn’t of done all three but of the one they chose direct email the most sure fire way to get an update. Just check your emails more often. Lesson learned.
  17. Not checking your emails is a poor excuse ? Personally more chance of me being updated via a direct email than a Tweet. If they put out a statement, where would you have it put?
  18. Not seen much of CHO but limited times when I did he seemed very unambitious with his passing and attacking play. Nothing at all about him stood out. Was like watching RLC for Chelsea also. You want them to surprise you etc as you think they are capable of more but both just play very methodical.
  19. Wonder if it’s just agent talk for new deal but if not we could definitely better his wages…
  20. There was a lot of interest in Richarlison including ourselves but it was the player Spurs wanted so they paid the sellers price. Just like buying a house. Others looked and didn’t think he was worth it or weren’t as desperate to get him. Just like a house. The point I was replying to was Maddison’s market value was £60m to which it has been proved so far it isn’t as no one other than ourselves have shown an interest any higher than an official £40m bid by ourselves followed up by £42m bid approx left on the table most likely. Just like buying a house. Those within the game seem to think Leicester are needing sell. It’s just a case of is it Fofana to Chelsea or similar stature or they may be forced to take our offer for Maddison as it’s the only show in town for him. Until Fofana leaves and alleviates Leicester’s possible cash flow problems or someone bids higher than £42m for Maddison all NUFC need to do is sit tight for 2wks and see if they get the player that they like (but not desperate for) at the price they value him at. Just like a house ?
  21. You’ve failed to answer my crucial second point. The examples you give both had had 2 or more clubs very keen on signing them. If Maddison is worth £60m then someone will pay it but so far no one has shown any interest in him at any price except us. Players are no different to houses and only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them.
