I wonder about some of you ? Journalists can be used as pawns in game of chess, some knowingly for access to players etc at a later date some unknowingly. To me and many others it should mean he’s on his way up the A1 to choose his squad number for the photos and the medical. To others it may mean a financial agreement is agreed on leaving scope for last minute change of heart. Its my personal believe that Watford have never truly been happy with £25+5m structure and want £30m so at any opportunity to seek that elsewhere or advertise the fact they have which they are in their right to do so but won’t win them any favours from us going forward if they had resigned themselves to the terms of our offer and verbalised so. My guess is the club are waiting for another club to agree a fee for Paqueta and establish basic demands and if it’s doable then we go for him over Pedro late in the window and don’t get rinsed with the Newcastle tax and for once become the hijackers. If However Lyon stick to the £50m fee and we think it’s not good value then we will go for Pedro gambling that he’s not gone elsewhere as Watford ideally want straight £30m rather than £25+5m. That’s the way I see the plates spinning.

From what was said on a podcast when asking a close family member of his he’ll spend his entire career south of Watford ideally. We will see no doubt but would prefer Pedro if that was the choice.

Too early to judge him under Howe. Patience is required. Until his injury he was Howe’s first choice LB iirc so you’d like to think fit he’d be No.2. Not saying I particularly rate him but mindful I saw him playing fit under Bruce. He looked better those couple of games under Howe before he got injured. Burnley iirc he had a canny game.

I agree. Doesn’t strike me as a striker like some have claimed. Remember being at the v Watford game last season when they snatched a draw with his late equaliser. One player I recall was a thorn in our side that whole game. Pretty sure it was this lad.

Ditto. Tailed off at Palace IMO. Wasn’t great against us which is my usual test. Was awful against Leeds for Chelsea.

Wood was well thought out as we lost only once with him in the team helping to keep us up. Helped sink a rival also. The difference is others are medium to long term signings whilst he was short to medium.
