Gordon wins a penalty after England should’ve scored.
-
It would be good to have clarity as I had argued the reason we would miss out on Slob (if we were really serious on him) was the exact scenario the Athletic reported weirdly but then I remembered I was corrected on here (maybe even by yourself?) and told the need to pay the majority/all of the fee in one go would not affect us on the FFP front. I hold my hands up and have little to know real knowledge on accounting or FFP apart from possibly some very primitive basics. Didn’t we have to create a load of shares to cover the Gordon Fee for example? What was all that about?
-
Some journalist on Talksport claiming we are definitely looking at a left winger despite him agreeing with H&J that we seem to be already strong and overstocked in that position. Also said he thought if the fee was £30m we would still find it too expensive. Sounds like we see him similar to as we did Maddison 12 months ago. If we see big value we will throw our hat in the ring but if it becomes a bidding war and fee much north of £20-25m we’ll sit it out.

How many goals do you think Barnes would cost us the other way? What’s the stats defensively? Leicester looked overrun with the likes of him and Maddison in the team together.

Hope he’s planning on staying long. Certainly packed light ?

Wouldn’t be adverse to it on a Free if wages sensible. Surprised we didn’t fancy Traore as similar circumstances at Wolves. Both would prove usuful short term but maybe they want 3yr deals ?♂️ Also with Ashworth and Howe it’s all about pathways. So I think people are in for a surprise if they think Elliott isn’t going to get more game time than last season. Despite (me included to a degree) thinking he may not be good enough to warrant more.

Isn't that what Luke Edwards said would happen? ?

Poor form of him to post her DMs IMO. Especially when she was originally proven to be right ??

Heard a rumour Chiesa’s brother (I think) studies in Newcastle. Guessing it’s BS ?

Good thread with two fans that broadly highlights the often split of opinions in here. One in the break the bank and sign anything that breathes mould and another pointing out the pitfalls and the need for a sensible strategic approach requiring more patience…

Yep. 5% allocation. Absolutely nothing in reality. -

It’s something but see no reason why they couldn’t cap all three tournaments for away fans. -
Not really their transfer model. Man Utd I’d say for Pound Shop Pep ball.

But you wouldn’t want it to be as they were stood level. Yes but the moving of the line will be to a place we will all agree on as none of the body will be covered by it. Currently you’ve a line that is covering contorted body’s and the dissection isn’t clear which part of the body they are judging. It’s not huge. The offside traps will return and they will have to be better at it. There will be a bigger advantage to the striker. Which is great news IMO. Anyway it’s a trial. Proof will be in the pudding after 12 months.

There is some of that with the ridiculous links however it’s also the timing of info found out and although correct at one point it could’ve been a target for a position that has now been filled and targets have changed. Also there seems a lot more younger less experienced journalists in the game now. Basically if you applied for a job as a sports journalist. Day one where you finding out your information regarding a transfer? Always wondered how you would build any network without the help of more senior colleagues. Ring the buying club? Why would they tell you anything unless they want to on purpose. Ring around to find out who the players agent is and speak to them? Why would they tell you anything unless they want to on purpose. Ring the selling club? Why would they tell you anything unless they want to on purpose. I never praise journalists nor criticise them when it comes to major clubs transfer business. It is what it is ?♂️

You mean the World Cup with the awful offside decision within the first few minutes of the opening game? ? Wenger’s idea means you should rarely need lines but more importantly easier to define and referee. As for defenders they will just need to defend better and it will assist stopping the stronger teams solely being able to suffocate the weaker teams up the pitch. Either way more goals which is what you want or at least I do when you go to games. Don’t know for sure but also aren’t some grounds physically unable to incorporate the Hawkeye system you mention?
-
Wenger’s offside proposal is exactly what you’ve asked for it seems. Player is onside if any of their body is in line so in affect daylight. So add that to the current VAR lines and it should be a doddle to verify if on or off.

People keeping saying sign Chiesa. I keep asking has anyone seen him play in the last couple of seasons. Not getting much feedback. Thought he was meant to be a shadow of his former self after injuries?
