Again showing your lack of attention to detail. See my post just earlier. Made it clear I’ve never actually rated Trippier before he came to us. I also made it clear when he’s been fit for us he’s been great for us overall. Anyway it’s a point probably beyond arguing with you now. Lets re-boot the topic… Guehi for £65m or Branthwaite for £65m… Who would people choose?

You are welcome… Even the Chelsea cup game he wasn’t fit to play but Kraft got absolutely done by a bad challenge which he managed to hobble on until half time. Same half time Botman game off for Burn as he was struggling with a niggle. Gordon got that game too with a bad tackle in first minutes and couldn’t run it off and was replaced by Ritchie for almost a full half. Yeah he made a mistake right at the end. I know I was there and was gutted. He then missed a penalty in the shoot out. However he was never down to play the game in reality. He wasn’t fit.

I’ve already posted who we beat in November. He had a couple of poor games and moments but until he got injured he was arguably in his best form the Aug-Nov. He had a poor December playing injured. He dropped out the team. Returned probably too soon but considering the club nearly sold him also he recovered his form until injury ruled him out from March for the rest of the season almost with him only playing against Man Utd from the start and one moment aside for the offside line he got through it for an hour but again looked unfit and didn’t return. The fact you got the cup wrong merely highlights your memory might just be playing tricks on you.

What a load of rubbish. Also it was the League Cup not FA Cup.

I agree. Couple of short passes aside one causing Guehi to get booked if I recall he was literally 7/10 every game. The whole England left side selection for that tournament will be talked about for years to come when it dawns how we probably should’ve won it in the end bizarrely despite never playing that well.
-
Maybe. I think he wasn’t impressed with our performance against Palace away as it didn’t seem to work at all. He has however tried it when both fit which was the point I was making. I think EH main plan is for both wide forwards and even Central forward to empty the tank each game and replace with equal quality on 65mins every game or thereabouts to keep the press going.

Wouldn’t argue that. I’ve personally always thought throughout his career if you run at him like Diaz did when we played Liverpool he can be twisted and turned. Never particularly rated him at Spurs or watched him in Spain. He’s been great for us when fully fit though as a whole and I still will always argue that way too much was made of his and Burns form last season.

The fans drunken criticism was aimed at the team not Trippier. He since regretted it and was more just annoyed because his journey down suffered a breakdown and he taxied there (and I believe back!) costing him a fortune. He’s just a young daft lad who drinks on Low Fell. (No I don’t know him at all but my friend does and got the full story) Again more lazy narratives… Without check I know we beat Man Utd and Arsenal and Chelsea alone the same month we lost to Bournemouth as well as getting robbed in PSG.

He was carrying an injury. He had a bad game against Everton away and followed it up with a fairly poor game at Spurs. He had a last minute lapse of concentration in the cup against Chelsea. That was it. Same with Burn. He had a couple of tough half’s (Forest at home and another I struggle to recall) and a tough day all round against Luton at home. It’s a myth Trippier & Burn had a bad season.
-
He didn’t play the last six weeks apart from Man Utd away 15th May and got injured again His last start was Wolves at home 2nd March and we won 3-0. So I’d say you are exaggerating.
-
Such a repeated exaggeration. Trippier had a couple of bad moments as did Burn during games.
-
I think they could’ve made it bigger and used what space they had more efficiently.
-
Poor for Nante’s opening goal. Poor leap. Well beat in the air.
-
He did when they were both fully fit.

Yes but the club don’t get the profits if customers go elsewhere. The whole idea of it was a new revenue stream to help the battle against PSR. Needed to be bigger and maximise those 25 times a year surely.

Sounds like a fine rather than imprisonment looks most likely… https://metro.co.uk/2024/08/09/man-utd-target-matthijs-de-ligt-investigated-hit-and-run-crash-21392212/amp/

I agree with all of this.

What’s everyone’s take on Torres out of interest? Obviously remember him scoring a load against us one game and the odd appearance for Man City. I recall him being homesick and him returning back to Spain fairly quickly. Not seen him play for Barcelona.
-
Tonali is going to the key player in changing how we play this season. How that will be and if it will be to our benefit the jury is out but I think it will the case.
-
Read my posts. I gave losing Pope the main reason for our defensive problems. That and we clearly pressed less aggressively (especially away from home) as our injuries piled up.

It was nice to see them as the frontline against Spurs and it seemed to work. Obviously Barnes might not be enthralled with the idea but he did look good coming on for 25mins on the left as a finisher also. Also with the Gordon situation a little delicate do you really want to be messing around with him moving him from his favoured LW spot. Going to be interesting to see who the favoured front three are over the course of the season.
