If a bid was accepted Man City had deal in place with Burnley to match any bid accepted and deal with Trafford in place that if they did match he’d automatically return. NUFC finally chanced their arm when they found out Dubs was willing to be part of the deal hence he was left behind from the tour and we could do one in/out on the GK front. So we bid £27m for Trafford and Dubs was around £2m the other way. Burnley notified Man City as legally obliged and within 10mins everything was cancelled with us and he was off back to Man City.
