  1. How anyone can defend Barton here is beyond me like, I'm all for free speech but there is a line "He's just a cheeky chappy" is about the only thing I could use to marginaly defend his comments. No matter how much of a clear bunch of bellends our owners are, they are his bosses. Mike would be well within his rights to fine Joey I would have thought like, and if anything he's just making it easier for them to get rid.
  2. Jonas would be a huge miss when we are also apparently losing 3 other first team players.
  3. We are trying to build a squad though. It should be obvios realy like, shouldn't it?
  4. And what's wrong with the two years he has left? He might want an extension now for job security, or we might not want to let his value decrease further. He's a professional lad, he would have seen out his contract and put a shift in. We could have seen it as £4m (the reported fee) for 2 more years of service from our captain. If we do actualy add this £4m to our current kitty, and actualy spend it before the summer ends, then it could become good buisness, however (imo).
  5. I never quite get used to how authoritarian you English are.
  6. They didn't have to have him on a 5 year contract, he had 2 years left.
  7. I don't mind Nolan going as much as I mind this potentially being the start of a major squad overhaul when we're barely settled back in the Prem again. This exactly, hopefully this isn't the first domino been flicked, but it seems likely.
  8. Idiot. Why for having an opinion ? Joey is a fkn tool for tweeting that He is? Not allowed to have an opinion, too, like? Weyaye he's allowed an opinion like, just a little unprofessional to publicly harass his boss, 'tis all.
  9. We already knew about that. You. I've never seen that anywhere. Well you fucking should have, you mong. /taxfree
  10. Joey's tweet man ffs Honestly this day just has me depressed now, i've went from "Look how mint our squad will be next season man when we sign the Zog, Erdinc and that" to "Look how s*** our squad will be next season man when we sell Jose, Barton, Nolan, Jonas and that". The sooner this club just inevitably implodes the easier my life will become.
  11. Pretty sickening to see Nolan go (partly for sentimental reasons), but again it's a 'judge them when the transfer window shuts' scenario. If he's replaced by a better player, fair enough, I cannot complain. If he isn't, and this was just a clear part of the wage reduction plan, then they can fuck off. You don't sell your captain for £4m if you havn't got a plan to move the club forward. I refuse to be dragged into the 'Ashley is Devil' conspiricy theories, but I can see nowt good coming of this.
  12. This. If Nolan wasn't our captain, and had the personality/presence of someone like Ryan Taylor (judging him purely from his aesthetics here), then i'd drive him to London myself. It feels like we may be losing part of the clubs soul though.
  13. How much money can west ham afford to dish out like?
  14. If this is true then wtf? Why would Nolan agree to go to West Ham, and how on earth could West Ham stump up a reasonable ammount of cash for him?
  15. If this was a money thing then he'll be best off just sitting on his cushty MOTD sofa tbh, hopefully he just didn't like the clip of the place though.
  16. Money in the bank does fund the players make us want to go on a Saturday though, you're right though, if it's not spent then it's fucking useless from a fans perspective.
  17. Thanks Seriously though, the facts are that Tiote was offered a new contract and signed it, Enrique was offered a new contract declined it, claiming he will wait to see where we are. I don't think it's a matter of him feeling the contract offered is under valued, or him becoming disillusioned at our lack of ambition, it's just that he knows bigger clubs than us are keeping tabs on him (if he doesn't get his dream move this summer he certainly will next year on a free). There isn't much we can do tbf. Pardew's comments in the media may be in the interest of maintaining the clubs image, they may be in the interest of forcing Jose's hand, it doesn't realy matter, Jose not signing a new contract is the last thing the club will want imo.
  18. If we didn't want to move forward I'm sure we would have happily kept him on the same contract and accepted £12-15m this summer for him. This. Surely Mickey and Dezza, been the evil little bastards that they are, would not have offered Tiote a contract at all, in the hope that he would become upset and try to force a £15m move to Chelsea... Que Pardew's controversial comments to the media about Tiote been a greedy cunt.
  19. No ambition because we sold Carroll man? Christ are people still using that card?
  20. Because Pardew obviously hates the idea of Jose signing a new contract? Got it. I doubt Pardew has much of a say in it. Just like with Carroll, I'd imagine he wants to keep the best players at the club because it makes his job easier. He's just the one shoved out in front of the media to explain things. Not noticed that everyone who leaves the club is a greedy c***? It works. Pardew said Enrique was going to be offered a fantastic contract to stay. Why doesn't Jose or his agent just call him on it if it's a lie? Perhaps they have a bit of integrity about them. A football agent?
  21. I don't doubt Pardew was brought in for slight ulterior motives, but not to the extent where he's purposefully severing ties with players in the media so the look like bastards. There is absolutely no reason to force Jose out the club and make him look the wrong-un, it would make more sense financialy to give him a new contract and sell him in a years time for double the price. The facts seem to point to Enrique just not willing to sign however.
  22. Out of interest, how many players have left the club as a "greedy c***"?. Other than Carroll, and the relegation exodus folk (who players like Nolan and Barton have called greedy c***s)?
  23. If its from Pardew it wont be interesting. Is it any wonder he doesn't want to talk to these bell ends? I don't realy get this tbh, Pardew is hardly a boring bastard.
  24. He's actualy a pretty decent passer across the ground aswell when he wants to be, he's pulled off some lush thru balls (although I cannot remember any for a while now) EDIT: Jonas i'm talking about
