  1. Imagine having Hargreaves at the 2010 World Cup instead of Barry man ffs, we would have still be s*** like, but we would have atleast been playing with 11 men.
  2. He is known for having great football technique, despite being a centre-back. His national teammate Niko Kranjčar says that, "on a training pitch, he does feints like Ronaldinho."[4] Colotastic
  3. It's been discussed in another thread, but theres no way a footballer would agree to a true "pay as you play" contract, he would have to be paid a weekly wage still. Plus theres the medical bills and the fact he will take up a place in the 25 man squad.
  4. It would have to be a VERY low basic wage like on a 6 month roling contract or something, the bloke has played 5 'games' in 3 year.
  5. If we could get Sturridge for £10m he'd already be here
  6. I don't think Barton has ever said anything about having to spend loads of money on players tbh, I think he was more onabout wages, and sugested that the club wanted rid of him to bring in someone "younger, better and cheaper (wages)", which tbh would be pretty hard to find.
  7. Why when he could have either just stayed at Porto or can get the Chelsea gig?
  8. No way he would be a certainty for 15+ goals like, would be a 10-15 a season man imo (the 15 scale been a great season)
  9. Aye. Did he not often play in the centre alongside Nolan and/or Smith? Played alongside Smith/Tiote when Routlege was wide with Nolan off Carroll iirc. He was alongside Smith when we raped Villa, and he played well. Pulled the strings against Everton alongside Tiote too aswell as playing well in the couple of games Nath has mentioned. The 'Barton CANNOT play centre mid' is completely overplayed, he's far better on the right as he's given the freedom he needs imo, but he's not the slow, weak lumbering sloth people seem to claim he is in the centre.
  10. People need to think outside the box a bit here imo. Playing in the centre doesn't mean he's restricted to the centre circle, especialy when a part of a midfield 3. He'll be given the freedom he needs, but doesn't get when part of a midfield 2 (where you have to be much more diciplined). He would also be free to push out onto the right during periods of the game.

  12. And all of that explains why we sold the bloke.
  13. I don't think he will be completely took the p*ss out of, but I could see Mike requesting that he is not started for the first few games in August, in an attempt to coax him into handing in a transfer request before the window shuts.
  14. Barton and Cabaye threading the balls through is what i'm dreaming of like, take Barton out and I can see 4 erratic forwards running about the pitch like nut cases.
  15. I don't Pardews emphasis was pace and movement. Not joeys forte Pace and movement in the side doesn't neccesarily mean that EVERY player has to be a tricky european winger, like.
  16. I'd pick him on the right ahead of some untested left winger like. If the season started today I'd go: Tiote Barton Cabaye Ben Arfa Jonas Ba Exactly how i'd go, I even made a daft image on some formation creator site which seems incredibly pointless now
  17. I think Barton would play ahead of either Jonas or Marveaux.

  21. The sad thing is 90% of other fans will actualy agree with this shite, the stat book and MOTD make him look like Frank Lampard. You just need to take a look through this thread to see some opinions of what he was truly like (some slightly harsh, mind).
  22. Lucas Thwala's acceleration is 49 on FIFA like /FIFA scouting
