Having possibly Nolan and Tiote behind him will probably be helpful, I think at Villa he was expected as a central midfielder and wasn't given the freedom in attack that he needs. Obviosly Brummie will know best like.

This whole "touch of class" buisness is fucking cringeworthy, 90% of the threads seem to tail off to the response of "Newcastle blah blah blah blah what do you expect from blah blah blah blah they have short memories blah blah blah blah I remember when they blah blah blah blah we have a thouch of class."

Andy Gray Sacked by Sky; Richard Keys resigns - join TalkSport
Hanshithispantz replied to Anderson's topic in Football
I think it's incredibly naive to act like there's no agenda here, completely and utterly naive. Sure Gray ultimately has to take responsibility for his own downfall in that he, and he only, made the comments. However, clips like these don't just get leaked on a whim, or in the 'public interest'. This wasn't a Ron Atkinson slip, where he was actually still on air in some countries (I believe it was still being broadcast in the middle east). What's happened here is essentially a secret recording that has then been used against them in public to not only smear them but to paint the picture that Sky had 'no choice'. If it was a criminal case, you wouldn't even be able to use it (recording) in court unless in extreme circumstances (ie. murder etc) which this isn't even close to being. They are in fact right when they say this is akin to the phone hacking scandal, it's practically identical in terms of end-product. It was the same when they did it with Gordon Brown, another one 'they' wanted out. I think it's good that more and more people are coming out in support of them, if not their views, then their right to have the private conversations kept private. Like I've said, I've no particular care for either of them, the whole things has been hilarious, at times baffling (the genuine sound of disgust in original clip) and entirely hypocritical from the masses. I've no doubt a lot on here don't share their views, and I know I don't, but I also know there will be a few nodding their heads in agreement with some that was said, with perhaps the exception of the Massey nonsense. Sadly, though, I think it's tragic that these media companies continue to pull the wool over the eyes of the public and they're only going to keep getting away with it because we all love a good distraction. Sorry, scandal. It's been pretty pathetic, the whole thing. At the end of the day, nothing that was said was that f***ing bad. Anyone acting like it were, like they're genuinely morally outraged really need to get a f***ing hold of themselves and be quite serious when they think "have I ever talked about women that way?" Cause I've seen plenty of it on here down the years. Like Indi said yesterday, where the f*** did all this moral superiority come from? Who the f*** are we kidding? Personally, I hope Gray gets every single penny he can from them. Like him or not, they're the scum, not him. He's just a tit, a tit that holds views no worse than the majority of peoples fathers on here. Exellent post. -
Yeah the blokes score 10 goals from midfield man, be fucking madnesss to drop him.

Urgh James fucking Cordon, takes the crown from Chris Moyles as the unfunniest 'funny man' in recent memory.

That reverse head photo thing is probably the greatest thing ever, nearly pissed me sell
-
Up front we have Carroll (crocked), Ameobi, Best, Lovenkrands, Airey and Ranger, and just behind we have Nolan (at a push) and Ben Arfa (crocked). A cardboard box would improve our attacking play at the moment to be honest.

Jesus Christ, some shameless plugging there like

Thing is Villa are better off loaning him out than letting him rot, even if they are paying all the wages (not that you expect them too), as if he does perform they will get a much better price for him than they would now.
-
Anyone who does want Ireland, a player that has regressed backwards to his former average self, with character issues on a high wage, who's failed to prove anything after being cast aside by Man Shitty, is f***ing mental. Two can play at this game. His former average self, you mean when he was 21 (and younger)? Are you for real? Honestly as risks go in football, getting a player in on loan for 4 month is a pretty bloody low one, whether he's absolutely dross or not.

This is awsome, tempted to join that milan forum as a pretendie italian for the craic
-
Then why the f*** loan him. He's already pissed off because he's not getting a game at Villa. We are not that thin in his role tbh, Gosling, Guthrie and Vuckic all do a similar job. We'll never know if he'll recapture that form because he'll never bloody play. If we are looking for a loanee then lets bring in someone for a position we are a little light on, DM for example. the fact you say "we are not that thin in this role" and then list Gosling, Guthrie and Vuckic pretty much proves how thin we are in that role.
-
But he's never had one really good game for us in the middle. Even in his previous good run of form under KK, it was on the right. His City days were, what, five years ago? I keep going on about it but it staggers me that anyone could have watched Barton throughout his NUFC career and still think he might be better off centrally. and for the record i'm not saying he would be better off playing centraly for us atm, i'm saying that in 5 years time things will more than likely change. (you sort of reiterated my point with the "what, five years ago?" comment like.
-
It's pretty narrow minded to write Barton off as a CM for the rest of his career because he's having a decent run on the right side tbh His form on the right is much down to the freedom he's given rather than him been a particulaly great winger, if we incorperated him into a central role with as much freedom I doubt there would be much change in his form.
-
Is that his best position? Can't say i have seen alot of him. I think it's his ONLY position tbh
-
Bit of a change from his "done deal" a few days ago, the tit.
-
That top is class like, smart as fuck
-
You have to be pretty heartless to want rid now to be honest, after all we've been through, the good times and the bad (mostly bad). It would be like putting down one of your pets man.
-
most would probably prefer to see him behind the striker, although if we were to play 2 up top he'd more than likely slot in at left wing ahead of Jonas.
-
the games he played he seemed to track back well and help out defensively, certainly wasn't lazy defensive wise anyway so i dont think it should be that much of a problem.

Shola's part of the furniture now, wouldn't sell for 40 million

The transfer window closes when 'Arry says it closes, reet!
