If the reports are true that SWP is willing to take a wage cut, and he was also willing to fight for his place then I'd be happy to take him (although he wouldn't be my first choice). Cannot take any bloke seriously as a footballer however if there willing to fuck there career away on the sidelines at Eastlands on a silly wage rather than up sticks and move elsewhere to try and revitalise there career and find some first team footy (cough cough Shay).

Thing that puzzles me is that in the brief moments we have seen of him in the first team he hasn't actualy looked that bad, combine that with how highly rated he was in Deportivo plus the fee we paid for him and the fact he has started about half a dozen games is baffling, especialy when you consider some of the players who have gotten the nod ahead of him the past couple of years. Suprised Pardew hasn't come out and explained to be honest, given how vocal he has been about Ranger.

If they do get the full 24 mill and buy Mensah, Onuoha and Elmo permanantly aswell as a half decent striker then it's a good deal in my opinion (they have no chance of getting Wellbeck). Bent wanted to leave and thats pretty much shown in his performances and they've gettin an exelent price for him, no doub there squad will look worse off than it is now, but thats more a downside of Sunderlands loan policy, rather than this deal imo.
