  1. Koulibaly was linked this morning on ad central https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-latest-transfer-gossip-24256113 It's a pointless article like, surprisingly.
  2. Yous are all wrong. FFP works in a finantially sequential way that amortises the net gains over a 3 year injunction only if it satisfies the regulations in the OFR handbook, which states that all costs must equate to note 7 of the FET regulations, "any sum paid is divided by the total cost over 476 days of a rebundand integer". In layman's terms, whatever we pay now gets rounded up to the nearest permutational number, and is squared by the total length of the contract, then amortised by 3 years. We could use the leap year loophole to essentially half our FFP impact per transaction though, Liverpool did it last year when the signed Diaz.
  3. He did scuff a couple like - the 'welcome to Newcastle vid' is decent for more than just goals though. Don;t think it's on there but his last goal was a thunder bastard.
  4. If a 19 year old scored a goal or made an assist every game for over half a season he would probably go for over 700m. He was hardly scoring against minnows either, pretty much all of his goals were against top 10 teams. Only 1 game he scored or assisted more than once too, so his numbers aren't padded out by 1 or 2 games.
  5. Yeah, and the fact we seem close at least to Botman and Ekitike, I don't think we have to be too worried about attracting top players. Villa signing Botman and Kamara is a decent barometer of what we're letting go too - we obviously have a few up our sleeve.
  6. I think people are sleeping on Ekitike like. I get young players are a risk, especially from abroad, but the timing of his runs looks impeccable and he looks calm as fuck in front of goal.
  7. Botman and Ekitike would be massive signings. If we can get a midfielder in of the same reputation it would be huge.
  8. Pretty much that but I'd prefer another lefty instead of Danjuma. Obviously that's not 100% vital like
  9. He looks quality and has insane potential. We would be absolutely fucking bonkers to throw our toys out the pram because he hasn't personally sucked Eddie Howe off yet.
  10. 100% it makes mpre financial sense to improve as quick as we can. If we get playee about move onto target no2. Buying nobody doesn't just hold us back, it keaves us in a situation where we would need to improve even more in a years time due to the age of the squad.
  11. I swear this forum used to be funny.
  12. People do know that they can just scroll past long posts if they don't want to read them don't they? It's not against the forum rules or out.
  13. For £10m Pope is fine. It's just a bit of a letdown when you look at what you can get for less (Wolves & Brentford).
  14. Would have loved JWP in Jan but i'd prefer either a proper attacking mid or a proper holding mid now we have Bruno and Super Saiyan Joelinton.
  15. Well aye, the alternative is dropping Bruno back and playing him as an 8 unless we're completely changing formation.
  16. Howe's role for Shelvey suggests he want's a deep lying playmaker so I'm not sure what's so mad about expecting a 30+ year old Eriksen to play there He's not going to sit behind the striker
  17. His ball retention is still bad tbf, although I don't think it's quite as bad as the stats suggest. It's weird because he deffinitely has the quality to carry the ball forwards like Rice, but something doesn't quite click so he's nowhere near as consistent doing it and I'm not even sure what it is He's very erratic, for the good and the bad that it brings.
  18. If we brought Eriksen in it would be as a 6 you would imagine. Paqueta would be an 8 or pushed further forwards. We could (should) go for both if we can imo.
  19. Who out there is actually better than him at winning the ball back, in the air and on the ground? I also love how he's actually a bag of tricks but only gets them out when it's absolutely necessary.
  20. Not being pissed about by clubs and not paying daft wages yet is absolutely the right way to go like. We'll be much stronger next season than we were last regardless of whether we land our first choice targets.
  21. Surely people dealing with millions of pounds don't make forecasts like "we'll spend between 80 & 100 million" anyway? I would imagine it would either be 80 or 100, or a number somewhere in between as the ideal upper limit - which they would have arrived at using an actual calculation?
