Tottenham Hotspur 5 - 1 Newcastle United (03/04/2022)
Hanshithispantz replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
It happened pretty much as everyone was saying pre match like. If we play a low block Spurs will struggle to break us down, if we push up they will massacre us on the counter Doesn't really matter now like, but we just need to accept that we're diabolical in the final third and no change in approach will sort it out. Stick to frustrating teams until the summer. -
Newcastle United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers, 8/4/2022 @ 20:00 (Sky)

It's a bit of a meh game and the players are probably thinking the same at the minute. It's going to be hard to replicate the form that pretty much got us safe when we have nothing to play for anymore. Just a long wait until the summer. -

I'd have said that was a freekick personally like. -

Might not have been City or the leg break tbh. I cannot find the post I did on here but I remember looking through a 3 month period or so at the time of Pardew refusing to play him, despite him being great in the short stints he got. -

I never said he didn't have bad games. I specifically said, that like any other forward, he would inevitably go missing. Weird as fuck EDIT: Pretty sure im talking about Pardew in that 10 year old quote anyway. Not even sure what point you're making. -

I cannot remember which injury it was (might have been the leg break) but Pardew completely fucked his return from it. I remember him being good against City then being dropped, him saying he was fit (he looked very sharp) and Pardew saying he wasn't. Was like a month or 2 before he forced himself into the side by completely demolishing some poor sods (possibly Stoke?). There was a lot of shit like that going on, obviously HBA has himself to blame for a lot, but it really aggravating to see. -

He very rarely had a poor game, atleast no more than any other attacking player will go missing from time to time. Again, there's a reason he's so fondly remembered here, it isn't just pulled out of thin air, and it's not just because he had 'potential'. He was consistently great when he played, even coming back from injury. -

Ah reet he was just widely loved for no reason then -

HBA was a far better all round footballer. He was obviously a nightmare off the pitch but he was consistently great on it for us. -
This. Again if people want these challenges to be reds I can see the argument for it, but before yesterday it's a straight forward yellow like.

Any team can struggle on nights like that. We've basically been doing it since late December to teams. Good atmosphere, shithousing, niggly game, players with more effort than talent on the day etc. Happens all the time.
-
Don't know why but Carragher putting that as his profile pic is canny funny like
-
I think a yellow is fine for a challenge like that though.
-
I mean it's fair enough but the refs still need to properly implament any new changes.
-
You cannot just decide it's a red halfway through a season though. Absolutely nonsensical that the ref was able to overturn that (which he clearly seen) and not some of the other decisions we've had this season too.

Is being a social delinquent mandatory to sports journalism?

Not sure complacency is the right word you're right, the incel strapping himself to the post never helped either.
-
The Havertz goal is harsh like, it was a top quality ball in, matched by a run and finish from a player in great form.
-
Aye, Richarlison was clearly sent out to wind Burn up and it was working It's the kind of shithouse stuff we relied on not that long back. It's effective and we need to find a way to deal with it.
-
I think Everton will stay up like, a spawny win at home like that was needed. Atmosphere looked great at times too, I don't think the league really benefits from a side like them or Leeds dropping tbh. Absolutely awful game though and probably the first test of complacency Howe has had. Even then though if we have a decent striker we probably win comfortably
-
It happens all the time and I've never seen a red given because it's never been a red card offence. I'm assuming something has been said and referees are stamping down on just 'taking players out' but you cannot just start enforcing it halfway through a season.

Pawson gave them the perfect fairytale like. Absolute fucking whoppa.

Absolutely ridiculous decision that like
