  1. Fully expecting Joelinton to physically and sexually dominate Declan Rice tbh. Could do with ASM absolutely rinsing him again, too.
  2. Mourinho would be an absolute disaster, no chance we'll even consider it Howe was always one for the future anyway, the fact he's also looking like he was a great choice to quick fix this squad is a bonus.
  3. Players would still get tired like, the break would be to get everyone a proper chance to drink water and scran an energy bar if they wanted, they wouldn't be invited to do PCP on the touchline. I'm not 100% for it from a viewers perspective, but if the game continues to get faster something will need to happen.
  4. Players are often absolutely fucked well before 90 minutes like, especially in the summer.
  5. Fuck what? Breaks for players to refresh?
  6. They should probably just allow teams a break tbh Like once a game they can inform the 4th official, and the next time it goes out of play they're allowed a 2 minute break or something. Seen people asking for quarters instead of halves in the comments but I disagree like. One official break from a viewers POV is enough imo. Don't get me wrong, I do love this kind of shithousery.
  7. Our work off the ball seems to be cutting a lot of the quality down from the opposition, I still think the likes of Liverpool and City will be too strong for us, but the rest of the league I'm not too scared of tbh. No that I think we'll deffinitely get points here, or from anyone else, just even with a subpar squad I think Howe is capable of making teams with more quality than us look shite.
  8. Obviously positional sense will see good defenders need to slide in less, but having the ability to perfectly time a sliding tackle is majestic. I love it.
  9. Hopefully he sees Rice put in some crunching sliding tackles over the weekend and gets a few ideas himself. Said it before but it's all I think he needs to add.
  10. Foot's raised so they're adjusting for it.
  11. Wonder if it was one of our players by accident coming out fir the 2nd half? Or even a Villa player by accident. Seems strange that nothing has been said.
  12. Tbf I thought Coutinho and Ramsey would rip Shelvey to ribbons but we completely nullified the pair of them. Howe knows what he's doing.
  13. Aye, like I wouldn't rule it out but it if he wanted to go 3 at the back I think he would have done it before Trippier's injury. ---------- In any case, personally not worried about Krafth, or Lascelles or Dummett etc even. We're not the same side we were even a couple of months ago and regardless of personnel Howe seems to have the opposition sussed. The individual mistakes have largely dropped off and everyone seems to know what they're meant to be doing and will put in a shift. Completely different styles but he does remind me a lot of Rafa at the minute.
  14. I wouldn't look too much into X player cannot be replaced because he does A or B like. Howe can change the system if he needs to, we saw that with Wood and Trippier. As long as we have enough players pressing when out of possession I think he'll be happy. Our work on the ball can only improve, really. We cannot just throw Krafth in and expect to set up how we have been as we want Krafth on the ball less, where as we want Trippier on it more. If we have to play more through the middle I would imagine Bruno starts like. Possibly in place of Willock (who might then replace Fraser). We'll see, but i'm pretty confident that it'll be the same again in terms of impressive work rate making it difficult for teams to play, but relying on set pieces or the odd in-play chance to nick the game.
  15. I don't think going to a formation which requires wingbacks is the best fix to the problem of us losing our only wingback mind.
  16. Someone needs to create Dan Fraser and Ryan Burn.
  17. He's vital as he allows us to knock it long, which we're utilising extremely effectively with limited footballers (Wood being one of them). It's one of the most impressive things about Howe, he doesn't even seem to give a shit how good his players are, if they offer a utility needed for his system and follow his game plan we're getting results. It was a good deal for us and Burnley and thankfully we can pretty much forget about worrying about them or how they've spent anyway.
  18. Aye but you'll usually know something has happened. He seemed to be walking about fine then sat down after the ball came to him. Hairline fractures sort of go numb and you lock up after a while, so it's not always immediately clear, but every time I've broken something (including a toe and my heel) I've immediately knew there was a bad injury there. Sort of being optimistic about it but I think a bruise is more consistent with something like this, where the impact of him receiving the ball has shocked him into realising something is wrong No professional clue what I'm talking about anyway, he'll probably be out for the season
  19. You would think that if it was broken he would have made a meal of things a bit earlier. You can deffinitely mistake a break for a bruise, but having broken a fucking load of bones in my life you're always immediately aware something has happened, even if you're not 100% sure how serious.
  20. Howe's actual quotes were a bit strange tbh, if I remember them correctly. He basically seems to see a box to box midfielder as an attacking midfielder.
  21. How many players are there as physically dominant in midfield that are also spraying the ball about like a prime Busquets like? Joelinton's touch is weird, he's generaly very clunky on the ball but still more often than not manages to get it where he wants, he's a lot like Jonas in that regard.
  22. He would have come on earlier but Howe will have been worried about cramp. It was a risk either way. We won though so cannot really complain.
  23. Could tell from a few minutes in that he was on one like, great stuff. I probably need to stop calling him shite
