  1. Bruno has an absurd engine, probably helped by the fact he doesn't sprint loads. I think going forwards Tonali will only be dropped if his fitness levels are dropping, he should be able to start Monday then Saturday like.
  2. Fair enough. They scored from a floated freekick that evaded about 3 of our players though. Schar was mistiming the flight of the ball all half. I don't think it was the personel more that we dealt with the winds picking up terribly.
  3. Why? The game went to shit probably due to the insane winds tbh.
  4. Pretty clear it's not cut out for playing with the intensity we need week in week out though and the RW issue has left us massively lacking up top. It's partly Howe's fault, he has a good eye for a player for a manager but we should have brought someone like Mitchell in years ago.
  5. We get around the PSR mess and buy new players? Whover cones in wouod still inherit the squad.
  6. Good job every pundit keeps twisting on about linesmen letting offsides go on in dangerous positions.
  7. Was excellent by their keeper tbf, recovered really quick.
  8. Won 5 after us then lost their next 5. I think it took a little while for teams to properly come to terms with not fearing them without Rodri, but I think Pep will sort something out soon and things will revert back to normal with them methodically boring the shite out of everyone to death.
  9. So annoying we're going to miss playing Man City during the only period they'll ever be a free hit.
  10. I think this is part of the point of what Webb has done though, "clear and obvious" makes the rulebook vague without actually touching the rules and takes the pressure off refs. It's completely ruined the sport, but I do think we're seeing more and more excuses bleeding in from fans and pundits as to why stonewall penalties aren't given. The Fraser example in the image, as it was away from the ball, there was this sort of stuff"yeah the ref has missed a foul, but VAR shouldn't overturn it as he wouldn't have gotten to the ball anyway." Nothing in the rules says that, but fans will accept it and even start repeating it themselves. Same with VVD, it's an 'orange card', he could have walked, yet it's not even a penalty because you could make the argument VVD was expecting a collision himself, or something to sort of explain the decision.
  11. Said it in the match thread but VAR has essentially just conned people into accepting poor decisions by adding an extra layer to them. People now discuss whether blatant fouls in the box are penalties or not, rather than if the referee and linesmen are shite/blind. Nobody with any seriousness can tell me Liverpool didn't foul us twice in the box. "It's just VAR's 'high bar', if it was really, really, really a penalty they would have given it." I swear there's more stonewall penalties waved away now than ever before as referees know they're no longer raked over the coals, they're happy to let VAR take the rap.
  12. A few times I thought we'd won a call but it was just their fans like. Definitely louder than normal.
  13. Explain to me why he should referee a top level game again? Cheers.
  14. VAR has done a great job of conning people that fouls in the box are no longer penalties like.
  15. Literally just takes the man. VAR just letting 2 undeniable fouls go in the box. Absolute cunts.
  16. Someone doesn't require a PhD to understand a scientific study, or to contribute to science, just as a they don't need to be a plumber to fix their toilet. That's not what I was saying though, using the academic term for a word on an internet forum is obviously gatekeeping
  17. This is just gatekeeping by use of semantics though. Science is 'debated' just like everything else, sectioning it off into it's own little academic bubble doesn't change that. Edit: Not sure how the Marc Guehi thread has come to this
  18. Because I cannot be arsed with these wrongthink litmus tests anymore, and people bending themselves into pretzels in order to sling shit across the table. Somehow you are allowed to be a hypocrite but Guehi isn't? He absolutely doesn't want gay men in football because he wrote I Love Jesus on a pride flag? You know this. How can anyone be fucked with this man?
  19. After reading @Memphisposts I wouldn't wear the armband either Fuck this noise
  20. It's easy to keep it to things where the player doesn't have to actively participate. Rainbow laces is a decent way for players to show support without shining a torch on those who don't.
  21. I still don't understand how people don't understand religious people, especially when it comes to the more full on branches like Catholicism - and especially with people from places like Africa. Guehi's parents are from the Ivory Coast? Even if he's more progressive with his faith (he might not be), his parents a far more likely to be strict and believe he's committing a sin by wearing the armband. These kinds of people genuinely believe in a vengeful god, in a devil and in hell. Forcing them wear a pride flag is ignorant as fuck. It IS homophobic like, there's no defending the views of religious people beyond them being brainwashed imo, but forcing them to play these little games is just daft.
