the punter bent the rules knowingly, so he can fuck off with the sympathy tbh. From a legal standpoint he hasn't got a leg to stand on, I'm not arguing against that and I don't think he is either. It's ridiculous that PP have allowed it to happen though and he's right to feel pissed off regardless of how stupid he's been. He's essentially just lost £11k and that's partly down to the bookmaker - they get away with shit like this all the time. This radge as fuck 'if you can't do the time don't do the crime' attitude doesn't really wash like. If anyone is putting that much money into an online betting account and has deposit limits set up I refuse to believe they don't know that they're never getting away with setting up a second account. I did the same with Paddy Power when I'd blocked my account years ago and couldn't be bothered to find out if that ban was up, so just set up a new account. They returned my deposit without any of the winnings and as far as I was concerned I'd just been found out. Shit happens. Aye, as soon as you get past opening the account you think you've won It'll have been the same here probably, he'll have assumed that as he was allowed to open the account he was in, as usually they'll block duplicate accounts at the sign up page - I'm assuming he's moved house or put in his GFs address or something. Obviously now he'll just go down the shops and place his bet, but it's a pretty expensive lesson to learn

This radge as f*** 'if you can't do the time don't do the crime' attitude doesn't really wash like. But Paddy Power did identify that he had tried to get around the rules, part the way through the game they cancelled his bet. For all you know he deposited and placed the bet just before kick off and they cancelled it within 30 minutes. Every deposit that flags up as a bit dodgy is independently checked by a person, this takes time hence the short delay in noticing he was trying to break the rules. It's simply no defence to blame the bookmaker because he unsuccessfully broke the rules and it took them a short period of time to check the information. If the deposit flagged then he shouldn't have been allowed to place a bet until it was resolved, or at-least notify him that it has been flagged and they're looking into it. Some bookmakers don't allow you to bet until you've sent in photo ID. They'll get a lot of bad PR from it and rightly so.

It obviously goes without saying that putting £10k into a 2nd account is fucking moronic mind
-
It's inadequate verification checking on their part to allow him to deposit more than his limit, they're the billion dollar company. Casually taking £11k off someone because your security system isn't good enough is shady as fuck.
-
Also the bloke pulling him up is on an account called 'JudgeLiarFinder', he's obviously an absolute dweeb.
-
I'm with him like, it's ridiculous that the bookies have to power to do that. He's broke a rule and tried to get around his deposit limits, he doesn't deserve to lose 15 grand (~£11k really as he would have lost the Barca bet). The system should be flagging this up before he was allowed to deposit any money. Like he says he could have just walked into any shop and placed the bet in person if he'd known.

Not sure you can be condecending to the team that have absolutely pissed the league like.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

It's weird, we've done very well but it deffinitely hasn't felt like it week to week, if we weren't allowed to see the table (and hadn't been tallying up our points for some reason) I doubt any of us would have us anywhere near the top 2, never mind 7 clear. Even weirder given some utterly ridiculous refereeing against Forrest, and some appauling individual errors mainly from Darlow and Lascelles costing us in excess of 10 points. -
Just seen the score fuckng get in, I've been utterly depressed for the last couple of hours

FWIW I fully agree that someone like Wagner could have achieved more this season, but it's not a given, and it's far more compicated than picking a formation. I just want to see what Rafa can do in the Premiership, and hopefully Europe. If we want to win a trophy there isn't many I'd trust more.
-
The squad clearly isn't suited to the formation that he loves to play. The number 10 position has turned into a complete farce imo, Diame and Perez are terrible in it. You'd need a complete reform in the way we play though, it's not just going 4-4-2 and suddenly playing fast and direct. The way we play is tied to who he is, we have to take the rough with the smooth. We're seeing the negatives of his management for sure, I just hate reading games being deduced to "he should have played x over y"
-
"the formation is the problem" is the most Champ Man Manager response ever like, we don't need to constantly pretend we have any fucking clue what we're going onabout yee kna. In laymans terms we've been completely shite since just before Chrismas, we could easily have picked up less points playing the beloved 4-4-2. Atsu and Ritchie is a partnership that people get hard over yet they were again absolute fucking rubbish.
-
I don't know what it is, but I don't think his tactics have changed too much. We were completely dominating games before December. Now we just look utter shit. Maybe he's panicked and is becoming more concervative but we fucked Leeds senseless for about 75 minutes a few days ago, I just cannot see him looking at that and changing his approach 3 days later. It's pretty clear teams no longer fear us like they did last year and, unless we're at our absolute best, we just look easily matched on the field.
-
Our modus operandi isn't to grind out results, we'll have approached this game the same way we did Leeds and previously QPR. We're just not 'that good'.
-
Was their 2nd not offside? Couldn't really make it out and the pub had no sound.
-
Thought it was for touching kids in Gateshead?
-
We played wellagainst Leeds, but we cannot use that as a marker, we've done that numerous times this season. Played really well and then looked aids the next game. Gayle and Clarke are the only players we need back in the side as they're genuinely lightyears ahead of their competition.
-
Do people honestly think we'd have been any better with Mitrovic and Mbemba?
-
They can switch it up too like they did with us at home and Huddersfield, no idea how they aren't higher, they've looked class every time I've watched them.
-
2 assists in 2 games and largely been influential in our attacking play, but let's labour the point of him being a shite goalscorer. We obviously miss a fully fit Gayle.
-
Anyone critising that performance man He's not a Rafa striker, even when performing like that tbf, but he'll do well for a team who can afford to play him.
