Wissa is being a cunt, but he'll actually want to play for us which is what I care about.

We're not going to be sucked into buying a £20m player for £70m
-
I don't see why. We have 2 strong keepers now, if we replace Isak with 2 forwards we'll be better off across the season than we were last year up top. We're stacked on the wings. 2 outstanding fullbacks and a really strong central midfield. If we can get a RCB in and a CM we'd be looking good. Man Utd are still managed by a clueless cunt and Chelsea are Chelsea. Arsenal could range from great to average?

I would usually agree with what @middsis saying (and that's how I want to feel), but this window is massively important as we cannot drop out of the CL places. I just want Isak gone personally, even if we just get Wissa and Watkins or some other combo to that respect with the money we're better off than we were for next season.

In what way? Only Dennis Wise scouted him so I'm going off of shit info but he looks fairly quick, good feet, and powerful in the air.

Would people be happy with us signing 'Brighton' players this window? Like that greek lad for £40m? I'd prefer to go for Wissa and Watkins personally.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

I think it's an exciting signing with next to no risk like. As great as Pope's strengths are he needs phasing out. It's just a shame the keeper isn't a position you can just rotate, as there's certain games I'd definitely still want Pope in goal. -
I know he's old as fuck at nearly 30, but Watkins would be class tbf. Sort of kicking the can down the road but he'd be a good replacement for Isak in our system. Cannot see Villa selling us him to us for anything remotely reasonable though.

I need to see 8 minutes of Pope shanking it into the Milburn stand, and absolutely cannoning it off poor Alex Murphy's shins. -

I think everyone got caught up on keepers having to be able to rabona round an attacker, playing a 1-2 into midfield, and then threading a through ball out to the winger - forgetting a fast, flat and true 80 yard drive behind the fullback is just a lot better. -

We need to bring in a striker who will hopefully score close to 20 goals or more, I don't think you can just scout that? It's a huge ask. Ekitike and Sesko are obvious ones who look capable and are looking (looked) to move, hence the fee, otherwise you have Watkins and Wissa in the prem. -
I would prefer to get Isak out the door this window, and after Ekitike this lad looks about the closest thing to Isak in terms of potential and his all round game.

Romano is exceptional at his job like, it's hard to be mad at him It's a look into how important it is to have the right people leading transfers, and how fucked we are going into them with Andy Howe leading. It's a completely different world and it seems like we're just having the piss taken out of us by agents. Vivell probably doesn't turn up to a meeting without half a dozen brasses and a small satchel of pure Andean cocaine.
-
It's nothing to do with money, players would just prefer to piss their careers up the wall for the love of Bobby Charlton and Matt Busby.
-
Sesko is exciting but Watkins is basically a dead cert to replace Isak's goal contributions next season.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

All of this stems from Mitchell though, Howe needs someone who knows how to navigate the world of agents and all that corporate shite to get deals done, and a recruitment structure that actually fits what he wants, not someone who wants to dump a load of foreign 19 year olds on him for £20m a piece. I'm half just making this shit up as I don't know the full details, or what is properly involved in someone like Mitchell's job, but I can imagine there's an alternative timeline with a different DoF/CEO where we have Trafford, Pedro/Ekitike, and Elanga in with a happy Isak. -

He wasn't spot on though, our recruitment, with the shackles of PSR, rapidly shot us into the Champions League. This window has been brutal, but part of that is down to having a sporting director piss off our only striker and then fuck off at the start of it. -
6ft 5, fairly rapid and has lightening quick feet, he can also absolutely leather the fuck out of a football too. Probably looks better than Isak did before he arrived with fairly similar attributes. Obviously a risk he'll click on the Prem

Watkins is an annoyingly good striker like, I don't want Man Utd getting either of them. Given they can print money his age doesn't really matter either.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Hanshithispantz replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Our first choice literally cannot pass a ball over a few yards, that isn't an exaggeration, he's completely incapable of doing it. Our second choice is glued to his line. Both qualities a keeper needs to play how we want to play. I get Trafford would have been a lot better, but Ramsdale will hopefully let us play our high line and not be a man down when our defence is in possession. Maybe he'll not make as many saves as Pope, but we'd hopefully be stopping the need to make them saves in the first place due to the ball being wellied into touch for no reason. Hopefully the extra £10-15m or so we'll save is invested well in other areas. -

Ramsdale makes 34 passes per game, Pope makes 21. Assuming Ramsdale is good off his line I think we'll be a fair way better with him than Pope.
