  1. Prabably the opposite tbf, any time there's a chance down his side half the forum become furiously erect. There'll probably be a baby boom in 9 months after that Semenyo 1 in 20 hit.
  2. We're trying to balance an injury hit squad with a style of play that demands intensity on and off the pitch, it's not going to be solved by dropping Dan Burn.
  3. because we've drawn a couple of games at SJP without a striker
  4. Don't think we've had the forwards fit for a 4231 really have we?
  5. Our recent form is still no worse than any other side outside the top 6 fwiw.
  6. Probably next season when we get half of our squad back, can properly train, and average teams know they cannot press us high up the pitch at St James' Park all game anymore.
  7. Pretty sure they just made a rule up there like Maybe they felt sorry for Dubravka.
  8. Was right on halftime when he gave two calls to Bournemouth though. And there were a lot of boos, not just a few idiots.
  9. Who is he? Like he's purposefully being lenient as to not be seen as a homer or something. Weird performance.
  10. As we lost a few games the forum is now 60-70% doom posting. None of it makes sense.
  11. Fingers, toes and knob crossed he breaks his leg or something and the contract is void.
  12. Doesn't work with every site (does with that link), but if you out a . after the 'co.uk' it shows the full thing. EDIT: probabky the wrong link like In general if people try that it works now and then
  13. Our club's branding is genuinely damaged when he does a pitchside interview with anyone over 5"6. Fuck him.
  14. He worked with him for 9 years before he came to us People are obsessed with finding 'an angle' because he lost a few games during the worst injury crisis I've seen from us. Cannot make subs Plays Dan Burn because he's his mate Brought his nephew in as a favour to his sibling Bringing in the Bournemouth DOF as a job for the boys Hates Lewis Hall Tactically inept, cannot see the gap between defence and midfield "I'd have brought on Ben Parkinson" Etc
  15. You'd think Howe had been caught bringing people in off the street the way people go on like. Proper drama queens.
  16. "Nepotism" Fucking hell man, hang Eddie for recomending a scout he's worked with before.
  17. It was a stone wall pen like, the rules are applied really randomly. Edit: Probably more stramge than random, like neesy says the 'clear and obvious' rule is why it wouldn't have been given. I'd be raging if it was the other way around though.
  18. 1 defeat in 6, 4 wins and a draw. How Eddie is still in a job is beyond me...
  19. I mean the same happened to Botman. I like Dubs but he's a lot slower off his line than Pope. That wasn't the issue last week like, Burn was genuinely rinsed, but any keeper quick off his line and adept at the sweeper role does better against Elanga today.
  20. Think the plan was for Bruno and Tonali to switch though wasn't it? With Willock/Tonali/Joelinton having the recovery pace to get into defensive positions. Bruno, Miley, Longstaff is a really slow midfield which is going to expose flaws even more. But it's not that I disagree with what people are saying when they point these things out, it's the way a handful of posters incessantly bang on about it whenever they get a chance, completely ignoring all context and exaggerating to the point of absurdity (such as ignoring that Burn drops into a back 3 when stating Livramento obviously should have been playing, and pretending he gets exposed by fast wingers week in week out).
  21. The "tiredness excuse" isn't gone though, because we're still obviously hamstrung by injuries and suspensions. People have been ignoring the obvious handicaps we have for months in order to try and sound like Mr Football Manager, but whatever Howe wants to try and do is going to be effected by the fact another injury or suspension and we're back to being absolutely fucked. The season is a write off, and it was nice beating Villa and a spark of hope for a final crack at the top 4, but realistically it's not going to happen. Barnes being back helps a lot, but it doesn't cure things. Bruno get's another yellow and who plays in midfield? Miley or Longstaff pull up in training and there's nobody to cover, we'll probably have to play Gordon or Almiron in the middle, leaving us lighter up top. We have basically no wiggle room and it's been like this for months, you don't think that will effect how we apply ourselves in training and on the pitch? People are literally praying for any example of something they've stated to crop up so they can confirm their biases though. "Look everybody, I've been telling you all that we need a proper six, the gap between midfield and defence is too big! Look everybody I'm a football manager!" "Hey everybody, Dan Burn is 6ft 7, Saka is going to roast him, and if he doesn't, I'll wait until next year when it does happen to let you all know how clever I am, because I know that Dan Burn is slow, and fast players will be able to run past him " That's what's annoying, ignoring the bigger picture and taking glee from the opportunity to tell everyone how a real football manager would do it. Howe has obviously made mistakes (leaving Burn on was mental), and he's clearly struggling to manage a massive injury hit squad, but this would happen with any manager.
