I just cannot see us going into the 2nd half of the season with one of Gillespie, Ruddy or Vlach as 2nd choice, seems suicidal given Pope's injury record. I hope I'm right here anyway -

He has a bad rep from us but he barely played and it was nearly a decade ago. Nuno seems to have a knack for picking up players everyone thinks are shite and getting everything out of them. -

Not a chance he leaves without us bringing someone in. -
Onabout this one?

This pair of eyebrows seems fairly level head, but I'm proper baffled by the whole "the rules are unfair" shite. Do these people seriously want accidental - hands by your side - handballs to be penalised? The fact they are for the goalscorer is stupid enough. If Bergvall had picked a better pass instead of pinging it off Joelinton we wouldn't have scored. Reminds me of the penalty that got overturned against Arsenal, where it deflected off a knee and onto the hand, although most of us accepted that although it was annoying, the rules were fair enough. Why the fuck would it have been a pen?

Love a proper counter attacking side personally. Nuno/Conte ect. They did get a bit lucky in the first half like.
-
Potter would be an annoyingly good appointment.

There's also teams changing their tactics against you, playing a low block and grinding out a draw etc. Teams just let us have the ball a couple seasons back when we looked unbeatable, as we famously struggled to break teams down sitting back.

A modern day Paul Dummett

It's all part of the package. Essentially "it's unlikely we are currently in the process of a record breaking (for us) run, because they are very rare". I'm not sure why we're flipping coins, that's a completely different conversation @Checko it's from Wiki, I just posted it here. Basically I don't think KI misunderstands how probabilities work, I just don't think he's using the same model you would to determine coinflips as you would to to determine football results. I think that lands under "common-sense observation".
-
"Depending on context or application it can be considered a valid common-sense observation or a misunderstanding of probability." KI's making a common sense observation, that we're not currently in the process of 'making history' to be among the few teams in history to win 9 off the belt and that will effect our next 4 games.
-
The law of averages is the commonly held belief that a particular outcome or event will, over certain periods of time, occur at a frequency that is similar to its probability.[1][2] Depending on context or application it can be considered a valid common-sense observation or a misunderstanding of probability. Think the bit in bold is where we're getting stuck here
-
I think KI understands this like
-
You don't think Howe could coach a few 20p coins to all land head 4 times in a row?
-
It's not that it's less likely because we've just won 5, us winning 5 off the belt was unlikely, us winning another 4 is also unlikely.
-
What I'm saying isn't wrong though We're not far ahead enough of Fulham, Bournemouth or Wolves for randomness not to be a fairly large part of our results against them. Southampton's new manager might tighten them up too.
-
Law of averages init Basically we could be seen to have been 'fortunate' to win 5 on the bounce as any run requires a degree of luck.

Fair play from the away fans, was genuinely vile what the did to Zirkzee at Old Trafford
