Like you're getting at though, this is part of the issue, Howe's team are obviously good, but we need to be ruthless and recruit the best, Howe needs to be a cog in the system if we're to compete with Man City & Arsenal, and until Mitchell arrived that didn't seem like it was going to happen.

Howe, Staveley & co did a good job but they're obviously not an elite scouting network, "the Brighton model" is an overused term but it's been obvious since the takeover that it's what we need. Fuck knows what that little tosser Ashworth was playing at, but Mitchell seems to have sussed the issue.

I think he'll be gone this season and it'll be a mistake. We're not bad, we're just looking like an average mid table Premier League team, but we've massively regressed to that from one of the best sides in the league (due to Howe). PSR had fucked us, as it was meant to, and replacing Howe in the recruitment department was necessary, but he needs a chance with a proper scouting network behind him.
