  1. If you weren’t there and involved in something then you’re not allowed to talk about it, despite there being people who were there and are telling us what happened?
  2. Was just about the post the same thing, it’s really annoying because they say a lot of good things but those things give the game away a little. They obviously base a lot of what they say around data and cultural osmosis rather than actually watching a lot of what they’re talking about (which would be very hard to do tbf).
  3. Definitely Villa for me, pasting our (recent) historic rivals like Villa, Everton & West Ham is always going to be enjoyable. After they’d just won 4-0 themselves too and were coming into the match with new found optimism.
  4. Probably been said but his link up play down the left has improved massively since he started there for us, even before the goal in yesterdays game especially he actually looked like a left back.
  5. Ours was probably the most offside goal I’ve ever seen Cannot blame VAR or the ref, we were lucky Sheff Wed weren’t out of sight in the first half.
  6. Brighton is the only game this season where we've been comprehensively outplayed iirc. Them and Arsenal have definitely been the best sides (on the day) we've faced, but after realising Arsenal would pass through us for fun we sat back and dealt with them in a way we couldn't at the Amex.
  7. We had an actual goal chalked off due to the referee been shown the wrong angle by the VAR and Howe pretty much brushed it off in the post match interview and then said nothing more
  8. We’re second on corners won (behind Liverpool and ahead of City) and win a lot of free kicks too (cannot find the number) which will naturally eat into the time as well given we get everyone up the pitch on set pieces. So aye, if teams would stop fouling us, defended their lines better to stop us getting in behind, and then stopped reacting to blatant wumming they’d be sound.
  9. The crowd is always going to react to it, after the fact though most people accepted Leeds played it well, our players were daft and played right into their hands. Looking around a few forums though the sheer disdain towards what was a fairly tame amount of gamesmanship is hilarious. It’s not even Arsenal supporters either, people who have no stake in the game are pretending they wouldn’t be happy to see their side do the same for some reason Diving is universally despised but time wasting and ‘gamesmanship’ isn’t. Everybody loves it when it works for them and the insane amounts of crying make it even better.
  10. Hope he keeps doing it just so RedCafe can continue to fume about how we’re demonic, anti-footballing cloggers.
  11. Had to double take that was written by a man in his 50s like, and not a 14 year old girl. Absolutely repulsive.
  12. This season has been great all round though, I cannot say that losing x-amount of minutes/seconds per game has had a negligible effect on the quality of matches?
  13. I’ve seen those ‘shocking’ ball in play minutes a few times for us this season but aren’t they basically the average time? Xhaka would have walked if it wasn’t for Marley letting Burn off with a professional foul in the first half imo, it was a similar challenge, should have been a yellow but he’d just given out 3-4 cards so let a few go.
  14. We essentially went 2-0 against Liverpool We weren’t negative at all. Last night we sussed pretty early on that Arsenal are one of the quickest and most incisive passers in the world so abandoned our usual style pretty quickly Frustrating them into a draw is much more satisfying than being patted on the back for “playing the right way” and losing 5-0. The time wasting stuff is nonsense, every team does the same thing when they’re in a position to gain points away to clearly better sides, we’re just in those positions more often than most.
  15. I’m honestly not even worried about the game, it’s weird. We don’t fear or ‘respect’ teams anymore which used to be half of the battle. Going into games against the league’s best sides and knowing you’re not going to set out to just hang on makes a massive difference to your mindset.
  16. Brentford seem disgustingly good against the 'big 6' like.
  17. I imagine more players could go on for longer if they keep to a very strict fitness and recovery regime. If you're not dedicated to their level though you'll probably feel the effects of playing hundreds of games a lot quicker. Not saying that's necessarily the case with him though.
  18. Had to double check to see if I was right in thinking West Ham got beat
  19. You can even see Tyler Adams' leg buckle during it
  20. I think corners (and the amount of penalties originally given during them) are possibly an issue that has effected the VAR process too much, and it's led to the comically ineffective version we have now, not too intrusive but far too subjective to be in any way reliable. Not much has been spoken about it, but the foul on Schar is a good example. It was a clear penalty, he gets his legs clipped at pace by Adams who rushed in from the side clumsily. It was soft but the replays very clearly highlighted that the contact was enough to bring him down. It's similar to the one on Ronaldo by Trippier which we go away with, and we've seen it plenty times in other games. Subjectivity is added to the decision when you start asking questions like "did Adams mean to catch him?", "Did Schar go down easily", or the even more undefinable "Did the referee make a serious error?" All which are completely irrelevant to the very visible fact that it was a foul, but create a discussion around the incident in which it could be waved away. "I mean aye it was a penalty, but it would have been very harsh." It's impossible to be completely objective, but they could start by keeping the bar high for corners, while removing the hoops they apparently have to jump through in proper open play. If it's a foul then give the penalty, it really isn't hard -------------------- I found this description of it canny funny like https://motleedsnews.com/matchday/bt-sports-panel-disagree-on-major-tyler-adams-incident-in-leeds-united-clash-v-newcastle/ "Adams is just stronger and more aggressive and while he doesn’t win the ball, he doesn’t make any proper contact with Schar and in a contact sport, just making contact isn’t enough to make it a foul." So aye, given he didn't play the ball and came in from the side it's a blatant penalty then He also does make proper contact, I was being kind before. Schar doesn't even buy the foul, he get's completely taken out and Adams nearly goes down himself.
