Never had much interest in Tielemans tbh. Jorginho would fill the Bruno role perfectly if we wanted to push him back into the 8 role though. Chelsea fans absolutely despise him like but they seem to hate all of their players and managers all the time.

Newcastle United vs. Leeds United - 31/12/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)
Hanshithispantz replied to 54's topic in Football
Maxi running at Leeds' defence seems too good not to abuse. -
I've seen too much or Trippier now, rapid wingbacks are old news, I want wide playmakers flicking the ball about for fun.
-
It's fair enough from Pep like, footballers being out of shape during a season should be pretty inexcusable for any half decent manager.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
Hanshithispantz replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Regarding his goal return he's probably lost some pace/athleticism which stops him being able to attack balls to the same degree at this level. There's been a few times where his reactions to chances in the box have been noticeably poor and given his goal record before now I cannot imagine that was always the case. Howe has used him brilliantly since Leeds (I think) though. -
Be absolute bollocks as the source is embarrassing but it's not a bad shout.
-
Howe did the same with Dubs tbf, think it was @Yorkie who brought the stats up but his numbers were really good playing the ball out. Maybe Ten Haag saw the post and thought he was a great cheap option after seeing De Gea embrace himself at Brentford During the few games they played together Lascelles, Trippier and Dubravka had a strong passing network as Lascelles would basically come short to take the ball and then give it to Trippier.

We're probably a bit overloaded with pressing monsters atm, our front 6 yesterday are all arguably better for their defensive application rather than their quality in attack (not that Almiron, Willock, Joelinton and Bruno are poor on the ball like). I think Maddison replaces one of Longstaff or Willock easily, potentially both if Joelinton comes back into midfield.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

Man Utd on 0 GD. We're on +21. It would take some effort for them to improve to the point they're on par with us. The Man City, Wolves, Liverpool, Palace run has distorted our season a bit, we deserved far more than 3 points from those games but pretty much nothing went for us. -

I just cannot see who overtakes us other than Man City (obviously), Liverpool and maybe Spurs. Providing Liverpool have sorted themselves out it basically comes down to whether or not Spurs can improve from here, they've pulled an unbelievable amount of points from nowhere so far this season. -

The confidence in which people spout easily debunked nonsense is canny admirable tbh. It's the modern day "Pep is only good because he has the best players" even though it's very clear to see how well coached Manchester City and Barcelona are/were. -
Man Utd and Chelsea are on 0 GD, very unlikely they’ll break the top 4 playing like they are. We’re on 21, we’re legitimately just a better side than them. Comfortably. It will likely be a contest between us, Spurs and Liverpool. Spurs are an annoyingly spawny side.

Leicester City 0-3 Newcastle United (26/12/2022)
Hanshithispantz replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
Football fans in general want those around them to stagnate so will generally talk a load of shite when beaten by a side they should be competing with. Pretty clear we’re lightyears ahead of Leicester as a side and it’s been the case for about a year now. -

Given not even trying to hold back his bias wag great like. I would have absolutely hated it if I was a Leicester supporter Said during the game he was orchestrating the fans at one point. -

Think that Leicester keeper might be one of the worst I’ve seen in the Premiership like. -
Maybe he’s just really sad and needs cheering up a bit.

You’d be doing them a favour but would get nowt but edge and bother. It would be akin to randomly adopting a couple of radge teenage sons.

Maxi has been getting stuck in since the end of last season. His issue is his fitness, he's barely put a foot wrong in ages. -

Walker seems to have recovered well but I honestly thought that game was the start of a very fast decline. It was painful to see at times. -

He was class, I used to think his end product was a weakness but his incisive passing in the final 3rd is probably even better than Trippier’s. -
Trippier, I wanna dip ya
