1. If people are that bothered by having to scroll back to find the start of a story, maybe when a title is updated it could include a page number for when that topic began. Just a suggestion, Ive never found it difficult to find what I want.
2. Went to get tickets today. £20 is more than I (as a student) pay for a normal game...sod that
3. He cant be THAT injured. He walked back onto the pitch to finish the first half.
4. ....maybe now is the right time to sell him then. I'd hope to get more than 6mil though.
5. The way people are going on youd think every French game effectively ended after the first goal.
6. I saw him walking off the metro, and when somebody pointed it out as he walked off the metro it got a little cheer I seen one with "boom boom cheik cheik the room" and the pic was tiote wheeling away after the arsenal goal. I was pretty envious.
7. That is good... I like it. What's the tune?
8. I can make arguments for and against both. Fulham are the Premiership's form team, won 6 and drawn 1 of their last 7 home games can't really see a Mark Hughes team having 'nothing to play for' either. OTOH, Liverpool are still chasing down Spurs for Europa league, have some decent firepower up front and are on a canny run under Dalglish. It'll be 0-0 now Fulham: P11 W4 (Sunderland, Bolton, Blackpool, Blackburn) D4 L3 ......since playing us on feb 2nd. Liverpool: P10 W6 (Us, Birmingham, ManC, Sunderland, ManU, Chelsea) D2 L2 .......not including europe: where they've been average In terms of form I wouldn't say there's much between them tbh
9. Aah, I hadnt thought of that. Should look fine with the badges. Now the only question is whether or not to go gold.
10. Would be harsh to drop Jonas tbh, been playing well recently. So play the 4-3-3 with jonas. Hatem wont be making 90mins anyway. Tbh though, it seems a bit fairytale to think we'd pull off that formation.
11. You'll never make it as a journalist if you don't sometimes write articles based on stuff that your source has said even though you know that he's just playing you. It's a give and take. Do you think these journalists would have any information about what happens at the club if they don't, from time to time, write articles that paint the club in a good light? If any journalist repeatedly writes s*** about the club, do you think Llambias lets him into St. James'? If the past few years has taught all of us anything about the way this club is run, it's that there are certain journalists/newspapers that are clued up on what happens at the club, and this access to information that other journalists/newspapers don't possess comes at a price. No certain 'journalists' are banned when they write sensationalist pieces with little to no substance to back up their claims. If you're ever going to make it as a journalist yes you need good working relationships. That however does not extend to writing articles based on things you believe to be bollocks. I think the writer Mark Douglas is a fairly sound journalist who writes some good stuff from time to time. If it was coming from Lee Ryder who I think tows the club line and is happy to be for the administration if it means he gets a phone call now and again with inside information . This club may have become more media savvy but to think they outright dictate articles like some form of dictatorship administration. I think some of the problem is those who dislike the clubs owners let it seep into all avenues. So the thought of Enrique putting himself first or being portrayed as someone who may be selfish is all the work of those in charge of the football club like some puppeteers. I mean look at the article we are discussing. All it says is the ball is in Enrique's court. Meaning the offer is there it's just his decision whether he wants to discuss, reject, or accept it. would be nice to know what the "offer" is. It would at least give this debate some substance.
12. That doesn't look half bad, like. Reckon it'd look even slicker on mattyp's mock up. And down the opposite side of the shirt. The old shirt with it's dodgey shoulder pads looks quite good in comparison to the new one. I like the idea of putting the sponsor in one of the stripes. It's a nice break from tradition. Can't see it happening though; I'm guessing Northern Rock have a very specific contract about where and what is on the shirt.
13. I live in Sheffield, so I don't get to many matches. Does anyone know why you can't listen to bbc radio newcastle online when in a different area? It seems a bit rediculous.
14. Why not have: Guti-Barton-Colo-Fergie across the midfield?

add me to the 12/08 list. With all this excitement I'm shocked I haven't seen a Birthday thread before...
16. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/03/27/newcastle-running-the-rule-over-georginio-wijnaldum-79310-28410068/ Never heard of him before....but the video of him i justed watched was brilliant! But do we have a chance in getting him? It's a big youtube YES from me too. Now all we need are some FM stats and we're all set.
17. So...we're looking at: Simpson - Williamson - Sol - Collocini - Gutierrez ----------------Nolan - Tiote - Shane ---------------- ---------------------Shola - Best ----------------------- ???? Difficult to keep up when Pardew says something new everday. Hopefully Stoke are as confused as me.
18. The issue is that my pride has been bruised. It could take a week or so, it might need us to pull off a few decent performances; but it'll heal. [/softcock]
19. some of the first games I went to were in European competitions. I'd love to see us getting back up there. However, looking at the teams around us and their form I'd say it's not something we're likely to achieve this year. Should be a definite target for next season though. I think we'll finish 9th.
20. There's not much in it really. None of them is (currently) good enough for the first team if we want the club to move up in the world. One or two out of that list have the potential to improve, two certainly don't, so if somebody offers good cash for any of them I would be seriously interested in trying to offload them and use the money to try and get a better striker in. We don't need four so-so strikers, we need one good one to complement the excellent one we already have. I agree in part. Ideally we would have Carroll, Someone Competant, Back-up and a couple of youth players coming through. I can see Shola fitting in as back-up and Ranger maybe as one of the youth players. But the others are very sellable. The problem is that we need all of them at the moment because we've only realistically got one first team striker.
21. Shola > Loven > Best > Ranger Shola does something impressive about once every two matches. Lovens' form would probably improve with a bit more match practice. Best had a good day against terrible opposition. I'd need to see way more from him to put him above Loven though. Ranger's end product is just abysmal, no idea how he manages to get so many goals for the reserves. I really have no idea where to put Xisco but he doesn't seem to have been very popular with either Pardew or Hughton, so he can't be up to much in training.
22. Taylor27 is saying that if Carroll was knackered we wouldn't want other teams/agents to know. Because if they knew we were desperate for another striker it would weaken our bargaining position. This would mean we would have to pay "over the odds" for whoever we brought in as a replacement. Taylor27 is suggesting that the board have been lying about how long Carroll will be out so that it is easier to bring in a replacement.
23. hmmm, can you put a magpies head under its wing like you can a dove? If so then it'd be easy to sneak one in, but looking at the picture it doesn't look like it's had its wings clipped cruelly. I don't think that story adds up. Bat's "see" with sound so a noisey football match would disorientate it, explaining why it kept flying into the roof. Thought the 5mins ET was probably fair, 5 subs n all... We let ourselves down, not the ref. I'm loving reading all the SMB posts; and they call US deluded. haha. Pity they seem to have closed the thread about dropping a knife, would've enjoyed seeing what their reaction was to one of their own fans taking a weapon into the ground.
24. says it all really. also whoever rang the radio and said "better than a win" - it might be better than your average win but it's no where near as good as beating your rivals 5-1. Trust us.
25. I really liked the way he directed his headers at Lovenkrands. Shola's headers can go anywhere, and even Carroll who wins everything doesn't have the best control. While I'd need to see Best against better centre halves he showed a lot of intelligence and nous and Lovenkrands was "loven" it . Thought they worked really well together. intentional pun?
