TCD's favourite player does it again. He's now scored more Premier League goals for us than Ginola. In about one quarter of the time on the pitch. He's now done it in the same coloured strip!

Keeper doesn't get within six feet of that.

Form is temporary, class is permanent! "just" Harvey Barnes
-
Wolves have been shit so I'm going to say that is deserved.

30 to go. Still there if we can work the ball better. Wolves are still leaving lots of space, as we are ourselves if they want another.
-
Ooh lucky there. Schar weak to let the lad get across him.
-
I trust Gordon up top than Osula since we are chasing the game.

Started watching the international feed, dipped into Sky, and then back to international feed. Fuck me, "Carra" hates us doesn't he? Every possible dig he can get in. Completely unbearable. A string of errors for their goal, and not just what the Scouse cuntface said about Longstaff. Big Al on now on the international feed and just blaming us for not getting a goal when on top. International feed blaming Dan Burn for getting too tight and Tino for stopping and not following the goalscorer. There are points out there if we want them. Howay the lads!

14 points from their last 13 games now.

Spurs in "concede from a corner" shocker. Looked like a push to me.
-
That didn't look a foul to me.

Solanke makes a difference and they're also at home, but Spurs have already created better chances than they did against us.

As a simple fan, I don't know specifics, but several sites suggest Lloyd Kelly is on more money than Tosin. I'd imagine it would be similar. Targett is supposedly on big money too. I suspect had someone warned "in two months time, we'll be scrambling to pay the same wages and 70M on top to get a CB", more effort would have been made to get Tosin over the line. Some of the "seven year contract" thing at Chelsea is about giving players lower wages, so the assumption about them should not be that they are still paying everyone the famously high wages of Sterling, Chilwell etc. It doesn't sound like their recent signings are getting anything like as much. Obviously NUFC aren't in London, but I would say we are now more stable than Chelsea on the field and have performed better than them for two seasons. A good run under Poch got them to finish above us last season, but Poch did it playing his way and not the official Chelsea way as dictated by their DoFs. The big picture for several seasons now at Chelsea is that better players than Tosin have seen their careers stall, if not crash and burn. By contrast, most players we sign have seen their reputations greatly enhanced. If potential signings need to be told this, we should be making it as clear as possible.

I see all of this as a result of failing to sign Tosin. A refusal to pay a little extra there cost the club a mostly wasted transfer window and nearly cost the club a record transfer fee.

All contact is enough to bring a player down. You end up punishing non-divers otherwise. Football is only a contact sport at things like corners, where obstructing the keeper is standard practice and keepers are expected to push opponents out of the way. If this sounds harsh on minor contact during tackles, 1mm of toenail on a wonky camera angle is enough to be offside. There is no "benefit of the doubt" given there. Six of Spurs shots were from outside the box by Pedro Porro. If "dominating" the game means Tino our right back taking six shots from distance, I am pleased we do not seek to dominate games. Getting it to Barnes or Isak inside the box every now and then is much more effective. Maddison is not a midfielder and playing him there exposes your team to what happened with our winner. In a 4-3-3 you have to play him wide or as a false 9.

Scotty McT is well out of this. Too good for them.
-
Salah goes close from Man U kickoff. This is an omnishambles.
-
Is that not a foul on Casemiro like the one on Isak for the pen earlier? Diaz brushed him before getting the ball.
-
Six of Spurs shots were by Porro, their right back. It's not a winning formula. In a new low, The Guardian's minute by minute report only added a description of our winning goal after the final whistle. During the game, it just said it was against the run of play. They've managed to find someone even worse than Louise Taylor to cover our games.

Decent half. I've got an international feed on with that mackem in commentary, but Spurs haven't been as good as he claims. Only one of their shots was inside the penalty area, including the blocked ones. They look like a team who needs a center forward. With no Solanke, Spurs look vulnerable at set pieces like last season, so I hope we keep sticking the ball in.

Aye, he's shit and was a waste of money.

My take on this Elanga story is that it just confirms what a good deal we got on Harvey Barnes.
