  1. Fair rules might book Joelinton for a raised arm but would book Rogers for simulation. Joelinton did not touch his face.
  2. Dangerous play is dangerous play even if it is accidental. The obligation is not got into 50-50s studs up and stand on players on the ground.
  3. No way that is clear and obvious. It just hits him somewhere with an arm in the general area.
  4. Fuck me if one of our players just did what Onana did. We'd give them pelters.
  5. Weapons grade bollocks on the handball decision. Not even clear if its off the arm.
  6. Right hand side again, lads and lasses. Absolutely class. Walked straight thru them.
  7. Great half, unlucky its not two. Great save from Sandro and good last ditch headers from crosses than were unmarked Bruno bound. Absolutely brilliant from Gordon, we're so lucky to have him. Red card every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Keep it up and get all three points. Scoreline doesn't matter.
  8. Overcomplicating things to take the ball around Forster. Just knock it past him.
  9. Three so far today means Spurs have conceded the same number of goals as us. Based on this, I'm surprised it's not much higher.
  10. Great from Kulu, never a foul. Nice finish.

The cross to Gordon was immense too and with a 1980s wet pitch bounce after the header would have been a goal.
  12. Wow, nearly goal of the season from Bruno.
  13. We're currently ahead of them on goal difference, which is just as weird.
  14. Clicking really well now with Sandro at 6 and Bruno causing havoc higher up. Its completely revitalized our right side. We look a different team.
  15. Best possible draw for me. I think we can take Arsenal and Spurs with their wild inconsistency and the Ange second season thing have a decent shout at disrupting Liverpool. We are definitely in Arsenal's heads and any claim from them that they are looking forward to this, for anything other than revenge, is bravado. Beating Liverpool ourselves would be delish, and they may not be at full strength in the semi depending on league games before and after, but losing to them with a commentator and likely two pundits cheering them on would be unbearable. Some arse claiming hoofing it in the general direction of Salah or lofting a corner at VVD is genius tactics can fuck right off.
  16. According to fbref, he had 95 touches, by far the most for him so far in a league game in a black and white shirt. The shocker is that his previous record was in his debut against Villa (!!) I'm pretty sure his pass completion percentage is also on the rise, with a DM worthy 91% yesterday. You cannot give the ball away playing there. It's taken a while, but we're starting to see the player we bought. He moves the ball so quickly it just seems to bounce off him.

First one was great, a surprisingly well worked set piece and great finish. I suspect the starter goalie saves the second. Worst miss of the game was probably Isak's one on one, so it happens to the best of them. The Dan Burn header too should be on target from there and that little pressure on him.
  18. Leicester had essentially given up by the time Trippier came on. We were in see it out mode too, so didn't attempt anything too ambitious.
  19. I think we've seen the beginning of the end, and if things don't improve in the next three or four games, you'd have to question whether spending for Howe is going to be worth it given the PSR consequences. The weakness of other teams around us mean that any new manager bounce would get us climbing the league much more quickly than a normal, 70 points to get 4th, season. This too adds fuel to the "change the manager earlier" fire. While mistakes have been made, I don't think they are necessarily obvious mistakes. Looking back on 22/23 when we finished fourth, I would say our vulnerabilities were excessive reliance and predictability on Trippier for creativity, excessive reliance on the limited talent of Almiron for goals, and probable lack of depth at forward with Isak and Wilson only. However, we went on to score more goals in 23/24, kind of weird when you think about it, and the problems instead proved to be a lack of depth at keeper and an emerging chasm between defence and midfield, exacerbated by lack of pace at CB. It is this season, one season on, where I feel the 22/23 vulnerabilities have come home to roost, namely little threat from RW, insufficient creativity from midfield to make up for what Trippier used to do, and Wilson AWOL, leaving our forward options extermely limited. On top of this, the defensive issues of 23/24 have not been solved. Since the season is well advanced, I took a look at some stats and the one that leapt out was that we've gone from second top in percentage of shots on target last season to bottom this year. From highest goals per shot, to sixth worst. We underperformed xG last year, i.e., we created enough chances on the field to deserve a higher finish, but are performing on par this year.
  20. If Slot wins the league with Klopp's team, doesn't that mean Klopp was underperforming? Klopp finished below us (!!!) not so long ago. fwiw, I think its a bit shit to win the league only once with Alisson, VVD and Salah. All three start in my all-time PL era team. I had to look it up, but we were the first team to play City following the Rodri injury. Since we didn't start the season well ourselves, I guess it was unlikely that we would really go for it in that match
  21. In eleven games, we've only scored four times in the first half. We've been losing at half time six times. In the second half, goals for and against is 9-3. Chelsea are the only team to ourscore us in the second half.
  22. If its this calendar year, Spurs (teerible) and Brighton (bad) don't have good records on their travels. Villa's is pretty good, despite the drop off at the end of last season.
  23. Spurs ditched him after 17 games at 1.65 points a game. Ange is currently on 1.72. Eddie with us is at 1.73, starting with a relegation zone team.
  24. Doing okay but clearly up against twelve. The one with the whistle is the motm so far.
