  1. So we are as bad as 17 other clubs then. Honestly I wonder if some people are as hyperbolic with all aspects of their lives? Or is it just towards their football fandom?
  2. We do but if the home grown players are never going to play, surely we're better off just accepting we have a smaller squad in that competition and saving the wages 🤷🏻‍♂️
  3. The spent £90M on Gvardiol and also bought Akanji in the time period you’re talking about mate. Stop digging you’re going to hit magma soon at this rate
  4. Odd take on Man City here like, just ignore what they achieved in the two seasons following Haaland’s arrival and claim it is their defence that was neglected, rather than their midfield. wouldn’t quit the day job for a career in punditry fella
  5. C5 Galaxy or Antonov tbf
  6. Wishful thinking there another Red Bull part owned team are up in Leeds, the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham pushing for promotion next year, the likelihood of having close to 14 US owned teams is looking scarily close to coming to fruition in the near future. I personally think all the noise around state owned clubs is a smokescreen likened to the hysteria of what might’ve happened had Corbyn bee elected, to have people conveniently ignoring what is actually happening by clubs with American owners (analogous to the Tories being incompetent and corrupt as fuck) . The English game is fucked if the new regulator doesn’t have teeth
  7. Was probably one of their better players overall in the 23/24 season, haven’t watched much of them this season outside of the latter CL games, has he totally fallen out of favour there?
  8. U21 players that have been at the club for two years plus do not take up a squad place
  9. Then our CL squad is one player smaller, so sadly not realistically any different from if we keep him given his lack of playing time and how far off it he looks when asked to fill in
  10. We are already the 3rd highest scorers In the league with Isak playing on one leg since the cup final and Wilson needing a zimmer frame to get about the pitch. Don’t think it takes a massive upgrade to our back up striker to close that gap Somewhat given that Wilson failed to score despite the minutes he got in the latter part of the season
  11. You mean the Liverpool who don’t really have a striker and are looking to offload the ineffectual Nunez this summer? And who play someone who’s really a wide forward there instead, that Liverpool?
  12. Fuck me pissing the bed two days before the window even opens, some of our fans man 🤦🏻‍♂️
  13. Chelsea really are the Epstein Island of football clubs aren’t they? Ooh they’re young, snare them up and ruin them
  14. Honestly I’d rather give the development opportunity to Murphy, McCarthy or Heffernan if we need a young centre back to fill in at times. even if they’re not good enough for us long term it’d see their value rise enough to go for a few million elsewhere, which I’d argue is something we are going to have to get better at doing going forwards.
  15. Is it a real Newcastle disco without a revolving dance floor in tribute to the Tuxedo Royale/Princess?
  16. My big concern about all of this is what happens when Howe moves on for whatever reason? I’m still scarred by the transitions from Keegan to Dalglish and Robson to Souness. My vision for a DoF is someone who implements a single culture, vision and tactical acuity across the whole club, from the academy, to the reserves to the first team. So that transitions are as effective and seamless as possible.
  17. Cheers for that RAF disaster flashback 🤮
  18. Yeah you’d hope the low hanging fruit of trading ground and kit sponsor at the least might be sorted this summer, given the second CL qualification in three years might mean we can ask for more dough
  19. Was given a new extra year on his deal apparently, think he'll retire here personally
  20. You do realise that isn’t how it works in terms of our ability to spend in PSR don’t you? The agreed fee in full is added to our profit and loss sheet, the actual schedule of payments is irrelevant in that regards, unless the club have cash flow issues.
  21. This kind of makes me laugh, it’s like they forgot they got into that competition by winning a final everyone thought they had no hope in.
  22. Eh? Where did you pluck that figure from exactly?
  23. That’s been my thoughts all along, you can’t be totally tactically and positionally rigid in this league. It’s not Portugal where you only have to worry about 2 other teams that can realistically compete with you. They’ve gone for the managerial equivalent of Hojlund or Yoro haven’t they? Someone who might be really good in the future, but who will be eaten alive trying to learn on the job at Man Utd.
  24. Will enjoy after Sunday, I will not tempt fate yet 😂
