  1. I’ve said it since day one, but the idea of a manager "having only one way of playing" which needs a certain type of player and then either being too stubborn or too fucking lazy to adapt it to suit the players in your squad; is truly one of the most audacious grifts I’ve ever heard of. Not to mention even if he got his ideal players for his system, how long would it take most good PL teams to develop an effective counter? Football is wild with what some of these chancers can get away with, for money most of us could only fucking dream of
  2. To be fair I think they're likely to see an awful lot of penetration over the course of the season, just inflicted upon them without lube; rather than from them.
  3. People harping on about Guessand realise he's more of a wide forward than striker right? I’m not sure adding another Barnes or Gordon type player is going to sort out our current predicament
  4. I know I was agreeing with you, whilst also pointing out the fee was bloody similar. Maybe should’ve quoted the post you were replying to too 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. And he also went for £55m plus add ons no? So not exactly a different ball park of fee
  6. As someone who had the "pleasure" of living and working down that way for a number of years, I think he's exactly what I think of when I picture a Wolves fan, the only thing missing is the video of him throwing bricks at away fans near that horrid underpass near Molineaux
  7. Man City tried to challenge it when Tevez fucked off to the golf course for 6 months and the PFA just told them to suck it up. It does feel like it would be ripe for legal challenge by clubs to push back against the current situation where players seem to gaining more and more power
  8. But bidding circa £80m for Ekitike and Sesko represented no risk? We shouldn’t be in this position right now, but due to Isak's cuntishness clubs know we’re desperate. It’s either overpay now or risk going the season with Osula and various wingers playing out of position
  9. Still might next year as the daft sod has Chelsea ffp flip written all over him
  10. Two summers later when the usual suspects have yet again inflated the fuck out of the market
  11. In a non-PSR world I’d see the owners letting him rot on his current contract whilst taking the PFA to court, sadly we live in a PSR world where letting him rot for 3 years materially hurts us
  12. Nah it’s going to be like Wembley where Joelinton gets away with straight up assault. It’s at St James we are due a homer ref against one of the shitty six
  13. Hate to be a pedant but Max Payne was released 3 years after the Matrix hit the big screen
  14. I think we'd already have those deals done if we'd been negotiating them earlier in the window. It’s the lack of replacements generally in the market, coupled with limited time to sort replacements which is making them difficult deals to comp, etc now.
  15. Did you read the post I responded to?
  16. Not even that just a flat £40m with no add ons, as apparently the ones with the previous bid were difficult to achieve
  17. I don’t think anyone realistically expects him to stay beyond next summer regardless of what happens in the remainder of this window, but extending the contract by at least a year, means a buying club is more likely to pay the release clause than wait until his deal expires or tries to bid below the release clause value
  18. Rosie Jones is that you? I can only presume so, as you’re the only person I’ve seen consistently fail to land a joke that often
  19. And I’d prefer the people at the club who watch the players train every day make these decisions
  20. They’ve strengthened significantly on paper, but lost their main creator. They’re going to have to significantly change the way they play to create chances in a different way, there’s no guarantee that that clicks immediately
  21. Wont be the first time, if we even had a Wilson replacement I’d be happy to go with what we have ,as Isak saga apart, we’ve kept our really good players and raised the floor of the squad.
  22. could we help them out with a deal for Watkins? Us and them helping each other to stop us being preyed upon by the shifty 6
  23. Yeah I definitely think the whole window will heat up as it gets closer to the deadline. I just hope that when the musical chairs stop, we have at least one striker in
  24. I think at this point it’s just imperative we sign someone to fill that role on the pitch, let the rest of it get worked out in the wash
  25. I mean is it worth remembering that a significantly weaker squad maintained third best form in the league, with a misfiring Chris Wood up front? We just need to have others chipping in with goals like two season ago.
