  1. We not got a web wizz? I bet the IP he posted that from is still back in Pennywell
  2. https://twitter.com/tfeditor1892/status/624929624250806272
  3. Mick Martin seems certain he's off to Chelsea on Twitter. Odd move for Chelsea and Moussa if true as he's not gonna start there surely?
  4. No mysogny or bad puns from me Michael Martin ‏@tfeditor1892 12m12 minutes ago Ouston, England I've had a pretty good nod today that Sissoko is 4 the off. Don't ask, I can't say nowt more. #nufc Wouldn't be a great shock, but still a bit shite seeing as how we've had no-one in yet
  5. Cabaye's form at PSG has mainly seen him spray 5 yard passes straight to the opposition, so the argument might have had some validity once, however the last 18 months; which is a long time in football somewhat renders it moot.
  6. I don't think Schneiderlin would be the success he has been in the Southampton team if he couldn't pass a ball, and yeah Pogba couldn't trap a bag of cement which is why nearly every major European team is trying to currently court him. I read some rubbish on these pages but that ranks right up there with the worst of them i'm afraid.
  7. I think the lot of you Mrs need whipping and left covered in monkeys blood for some of these puns
  8. Am I the only one who holds out some vain hope that recent developments at Rangers (notably the rejection of a takeover bid) and Pardew leaving us might point to the fact Ashley is about to sell us and buy Rangers? The fact he's managed to get Lambias and the new finance director in place suggests he up to something at Rangers and the SFA seem unwilling to further bend the rules on dual ownership
  9. In fairness I doubt he sold himself as 'out for months before really kicking a ball' either
  10. I dunno That Man City team did ok with Fernandinho last year and they've just bought Fernando who's main job seems to be run around and kick people too. Oh and didn't Real win the CL playing Pepe in midfield last year? Can't remember him dictating play, his job is simply win the ball back and give it to someone who can play.
  11. Pretty sure he has a white 12C. Not exactly cheap, but not in P1 territory either.
  12. Think a lot of the stuff written regarding how well Hughes has done at Stoke is way OTT IMO. For gods sake Pulis has the previously condemned Palace a few points behind them. Despite the HoofBall comments regarding him, he's managed to use Puncheon really well too. I personally think that Stoke's league position is more down to how bobbins the PL has been this year, a point further illustrated by the fact we're still 9th despite being total dog toffee since Christmas.
  13. No you're right he slotted the on loan Barry and Delafeou (sp) too
  14. I think what annoys me most about this whole situation is that Pardew seems to be blaming HBA and Marveaux for failing to turn around games when we're already a few goals down. Surely it should be the players that got us in that position who should be criticised, not the ones given 20 minute cameo's.
  15. Monsoir furious is still fairly active on twitter, but as I understand now lives in Norwich and as such doesn't get to many games as a result.
  16. Worst post of 2014 candidate that. I dunno, behind the swearing, the point stands - Ben Arfa cannot even do the basics right at present, and had a shocking game I swear to god that's absolute bullshit. Sure he didn't have a good game by any means, but he's the least of our problem. Ben Arfa has played well most games where he's started on the right, why change from that? Why move him from a position he did pretty well in once again on Tuesday? Why move him centrally, a place where he gets less time on the ball and is more vulnerable to pressure from more players? He's not a bad footballer, he's just being used terribly wrong. He's the most gifted player and footballer in the club, remember the season we finished fifth when he created I don't know how many goals (some from crosses, think against Stoke and Liverpool). Ben Arfa gets a lot of stick for not releasing the ball earlier, for ballhogging and much more, and while it happens more often with him, it will happen very often with him. Look at a player like Neymar, CRonaldo, Robben, Ribery they all lose the ball plenty during games, but we don't see the manager switching their positions just because they lost the ball do we? When you have a player like Ben Arfa that can produce magic and create stuff you don't leave him on the bench, and you don't move him from a position where he is doing well. It's all down to the manager. Let him play, let him flow, if he loses the ball 50times, let him do it, because unfortunately we have f*** else on the pitch to create for us at the moment. What he said, How many times does Silva lose the ball? He is always more likely too as he's looking to create something, not looking to make a simple sideways pass. The fact that this stuff gets repeated on here just goes to further prove what a good job the current regime's propaganda machine has done. Robert gave the ball away just as much as this guy if not more, was just as greedy. The difference was we had a manager who told him to go out and do his thing, rather than the tactically inept coward we have in the dugout just now.
  17. Never mind Oberwank, give them Marveaux as part of the deal if Pardew won't even select the lad on the bench
  18. In other words we have been bullshitted again about how we tried and couldn't get the deals over the line. In other words they didn't even try Or putting a more positive spin on it, he is here and about to sign. This is Ryder we're on about after all
  19. Yep, what's the bloody point in it all. Was it Dave who posted a stat saying what % Sports Direct had increased taking since Ashley bought us? Sadly a large part of it is that. I think Sports Direct's success is two fold. Ashley's involvement in us, and tbf clothes/shoes/trainers that parents and lower paid workers can afford. I know that's not something we want readily admit but it's true nevertheless. The current climate has been kind to him. Not that i'm doubting his ownership of us has had nothing to do with it, just a smaller part of it than we think imo. Aye I wouldn't say it's a massive part but I would say there's got to be something noticeable in his figures I reckon or the club would have to go one way or the other ambition wise. I've really no idea now what Ashley really wants. Does he want to sell, while people say he would there has been no effort on that front. Does he want to own a successful football club, the lack of ambition says no. So he just want to own a mid table self funding boring football club. Doesn't make sense. I think he came in with two ideas - 1. To be the fabled 'Geordie Abramovic' after being fed s**** by Hall/Shepherd 2. To advertise his company internationally. Obviously 1 has gone tits up so we're left with 2 & as long as we exist in the premier league - off our own steam - he's doing a number on us. Only a tiny fraction of SD business is international right now. I said on another thread that the best result for us (under his ownership) would be that at some point he wants to expand SD internationally and he wants to use us to help. In that situation the only way we'd be any use is if we were much higher profile and more successful than we are now. So he'd have to show more ambition for the club. Is that not where the rumours of him binning us off for Rangers, once they're back in the SPL came from? Could get them in the CL year in year out with a significantly smaller investment than it would take to have us crack the top 4. Sad but true indictment of domestic English football in its current state.
  20. I think Man Utd would be better off buying Tiote, they have Carrick and Kagawa that can do the Cabaye type stuff. Its genuine s steel in the middle they're missing
  21. Much in the same way I'm envisaging a tank driving on the pitch and Mr T throwing a sh!tload of Snickers at you as you dramatically roll around like a f@nny
  22. Anyone else read this? Didn't know whether to laugh or cry http://www.viewfromablue.com/2014/01/13/newcastle-0-2-man-city-my-thoughts-3/? Really didn't take them long to become as detestable and self entitled as their neighbours did it?
  23. No I mean 7 or 8, it was commented on repeatedly towards the end of the Europa campaign, I recall him wrongly having 2 ruled out in one single game.
  24. If we don't sign another forward this January I agree we should give him another chance in the second half of the season, because I would still rather play him than Shola. That said, he was an integral part of last season's failure, not (just) a victim of it. It could be argued we didn't play to his strengths (not sure which ones really, but there you go), but the fact we were treathened by relegation for much of the season was as much to do with not having a striker putting the ball in the net (especially second half of the season after Ba left) as anything else tbh. For him to refind his early form, it's not just a matter of Pardew giving him that chance, but also him taking whatever chances come his way and proving that he's on the way back, making himself undroppable. From what we've seen so far this season you have to wonder if he's even interested. If we're going to crucify him for last season, can we at least have the linesmen that ruled off something like 7 or 8 perfectly good goals incorrectly, crucified up there with him too? They stand his confidence doesn't collapse and we don't have the Cisse we have now IMO
