  1. Fella we get it, you’d rather we signed Frimpong for some reason. But there have been no links so it's just that an idea in your head. I dunno what to tell you, the coaching staff at Newcastle maybe.don't rate him, maybe Leverkusen might be deemed too difficult to negotiate with now they’ve sold Szoboszlai. Or hold on to your hat, maybe he doesn’t want to leave Leverkusen. Basically what I’m trying to say is, it looks like the club's recruitment team like the look of Livramento and there are concrete links that we are attempting to negotiate with Southampton to sign him, hence why we are talking about him in a thread on a Newcastle United forum. There have been no links to Frimpong other than the ones in your imagination, so maybe if you want to discuss Frimpong so much, maybe do so on a Leverkusen forum? Start a fanclub? Stalk him…..
  2. Well done you continue to convince yourself ?. Just admit you’ve never seen Livramento play. One season where according to you he was crap, according to everyone else was one of the best right backs in the league at a very tender age, which also resulted in a call up to the national setup.
  3. Because Livramento has actually played in the league we compete in, rather than the Bundesliga, where a large number of players have struggled to adapt to the PL, despite performing well in Germany. Secondly, if you think we are offering a straight £30M for Livramento I dunno what you've been reading as every reputable source here suggests it’s a heavily structured deal taking into account both his injury status and our FFP restrictions. So basically Frimpong for an additional 25% cost doesn’t fit with the clubs plans.
  4. The reason some of these heated debates start is because there are some people who seem to think their opinion, rather than just being just that an opinion, are somehow more knowledgeable than professional scouting and medical teams employed by multi-million pound companies. Given that, it is it any wonder that people who don’t share those opinions occasionally think it’s a bit much?
  5. Ok I'll bite, proven Premier League experience ring a bell?
  6. I liked you better, when you quietly stored my towels
  7. That’s mainly going to be coming from the forward or left sided 8 though surely. If our left back is spending the game in the half spaces on the edge of the oppositions area, our defensive record is going to be pretty shocking
  8. To be fair, I just saw an opportunity to make an obvious joke and shine a light on my own lifting patter
  9. Did we stay up and weaken a rival (Who ultimately went down) following that transfer? Then it achieved its purpose. The fact we ended up evens ffp wise, after his relatively prompt sale is even better.
  10. I suspect a few of our recent pick ups at that sort of level aren't even viewed as being for our first team, but rather easy flips to make us a bit of cash. In much the same way as Chelsea have been doing for about a decade now
  11. Genuinely spent a while trying to highlight your ForumName to see if you had 'Shite' in white text in front of it
  12. Nah DeRossi is a better comparison if you ask me. He can do a bit of everything.
  13. It’s done solely to irritate you mate. As for stopping buying young talent from Europe what would you consider Tonali and Minteh to be exactly? Do you think Howe is now controlling Ashworth etc? Or do you think maybe the club are somewhat reluctantly letting go of a saleable asset, who doesn’t fully fit in with the team's current system and has had fitness issues (You'd imagine the medical team may have an idea if this is likely to be recurrent or not, I can imagine it’s not them who have him strapped up like a mummy).
  14. Is left back really more pressing though, given how we play? Take Trippier out of our side and our main creative threat is gone. The guy is soon gonna be 33, he ain’t playing every game in a season like we have coming up.
  15. It’s why I think peak Woodgate was a better CB than Rio. Woody helped make Bramble look a world beater, Rio fell off massively when not playing alongside Stam or Vidic
  16. just been watching this on YouTube and given the sock colour debates of recent years, I’m going to say it we need to bring back the hooped variety
  17. Presume he’s on the wind up, but can’t remember him doing this before
  18. It only counts for certain years, where he wasn’t at the club for the full 3 (I only know this, because I assumed the same)
  19. Bit of a different negotiating position, when you’re staring down the reality of keeping Premier League players on contracts with no relegation clauses, compared to the relative position of power they were in last summer
  20. Not only that but given his initial explosive pace, he should be playing on the shoulder more. The fact is the ball is always quicker than you, it’s literally one of the first things every rapid kid should be taught. It’s great being able to beat a man when required, but the best in his position use space and movement to ensure they often don’t have to.
  21. It’s only a benefit on the rare occasions he actually releases the ball early to those in space
  22. There’s obviously no plan, other than to wind up people like you on the internet. FFS what have the guys behind the scenes got to do to earn your trust after the last 18 months? #TrustTheProcess
