We’re better than them, my only fear is not sticking away our chances and then making some changes and using the bench to hit us on the break. 45-65 mins key to go at them hard. Miley is class, love Miggy but tonight is an example of where we can improve the first 11 moving forwards.

I don’t think we’re close enough to city for them to worry about him joining us but let’s see. The transfer makes sense for both parties but nufc are great at keeping their cards close to their chest so they may have someone else lined up.

At James will be bouncing, proper raucous atmosphere. I bank our midfield and physicality with the crowd behind us to overpower them but we’ll have to be careful with them on the break. Onana need to be put under major pressure.

Short term we need the midfield reinforcing, longer term I think having a more designated 6 gives us more options (Bruno having more influence further forward for example). I don’t think he’d cost a fortune if we did decide to make it permanent and he’s hardly old at 27. If we bring in someone younger and more talented then fine but the bonus with Phillips is he’s premier league ready so less risk (though has had a few injuries). I have faith in whatever the club does really but I think he’d be a great signing.

Their keeper is shite let’s be honest and that defence is leaky as fuck. That being said they’ve got some dangerous players particularly on the break. Shame we’ll still lack options from the bench but I really fancy us at home against these. I think our midfield has theirs like. Crowd will be well up for this too.

Hes outrageous, surely a nailed on starter from now on even when Burn comes back (Burn will still be extremely important in games at LB and CB when needed)

Yes if Botman ends up needing surgery and I imagine they’ll know next month if he can’t come back following conservative management they’re going to have to look at CB. Midfield definitely key as you say though. I would also imagine they’ll keep an eye out for a ‘’forward’ who can play RW and up front.

Vital in this run up to Jan with Wilson out. I guess that goes without saying though but he could really be the difference v Man U, Chelsea in cup etc, Spurs away

Wow it’s almost as if Howe and the team had the foresight that Gordon could turn into the player he is now with the right training and coaching ? The scary thing is he’s only going to get better. Fantastic addition.

I have some concerns about Pope too but he’s the least of our concerns right now.

If we can somehow manage this next run, maybe get Barnes back, hopefully Botman but that sounds a bit iffy then get to Jan…..not only will we possibly bring a couple players in but some of the long term injuries will hopefully have cleared up too.

The bedwetting/social media morons are no doubt losing their shit currently at the first sign of a rough match. Is Eddie the man? Need an entirely new medical staff? Blah blah blah ? Success was always going to bring out the unrealistic divvies who would crumble at the first rough patch. We were always going to struggle (struggle has included beating PSG 4-1, beating City at home, Man U away in the cup and recently beating the Arse at home) at some point and this season managing the games and their intensity. Injuries we always a greater risk this season but we’ve just been very unlucky too. To even discuss whether Howe is under press (not necessarily on this forum) is absolutely absurd.

I think he gets replaced as the second striker next summer. He will still get a fair few minutes coming on as a sub but there’s no room for sentimentality in football. Yes he’ll still be a valued part of the squad and hardly cast aside but for where we’re going he just can’t play enough and is too injury prone to be relied on as key 2md striker particularly as Isak also seems injury prone.
