  1. Rice is a monster of a player but Phillips wasn’t far off him not long ago as you say. I think he’s lost his way a little recently, the transfer to City always seemed like an odd one. I mean I guess a fat contract and being involved in a winning side is something but he was never going to play regularly. Stick him in our side, fit and hungry and allow Bruno to still dictate play with someone else in midfield and it gives us real options. Equally if they aren’t interested in him then fine but it seems like a sensible signing if they can get him.
  2. I agree I think a fully fit Phillips would be a great addition and having a designated 6 in the squad would be a bonus. I think an elite right winger and new striker are key moving forwards and they need to work out what they do in midfield between now and next season with Tonali’s absence. They also need to work out a plan B when Beuno is out. I imagine Tonali was probably the plan B so in the short term a Phillips loan(? With option to buy) wouod help sure things up even if he’s a completely different type of player to what we have already. Over next two windows: RW, striker, midfielder, right sided CB
  3. It would be interesting to know how much they run but from what Howe said recently in an interview where asked about managing training load he said they kept things pretty low key intensity wise between games. So you’d imagine easy paced running and focus on tactics and drills rather than volume and intensity. Obviously players coming back from injury might do a bit more volume.
  4. Exactly this, basically lose the spine of the team and throw in a load of fatigue and you’re properly up against it. Bournemouth to their credit too full advantage of our situation and fully deserved the win.
  5. Just look where we were two years ago and what he’s done. Also look at games like Wolves away under Bruce just before the take over and how shockingly bad that was and then look at where are now and what we’re doing. Enough said.
  6. Completely agree. I don't necessarily see this being fully addressed in Jan (it’ll be hard to find the right player) but definitely next summer. Wilson assuming he stays should gradually become the 3ed option.
  7. Hopefully the clown got singled out by other fans and out in their place ffs
  8. It’s the quick fix fickle brigade who won’t accept losing under any circumstances. Injuries have caught us with us, we looked knackered but they’ll conveniently look past this.
  9. The bedwetters are on their way ?
  10. Well said, some proper moronic comments will come out with this result
  11. This is going to have to be looked at particularly with Tonali out for so long.
  12. Squad is on its arse, players look drained. Bit of a lucky break but they should already be ahead really.
  13. There’s been some absolutely ridiculous guff written about Spurs and title contenders. Yes they’ve played very well but they’ve had an easy start and no injuries up until this point. Maddison always gets injured at some point and if Son picks up a knock they’re royally fucked. I agree let’s see how they manage now with key injuries and if they hit a bad patch.
  14. I think they’ll look to bring in a new RW next summer, e.g Neto type player. I think we also need another top striker with Wilson dropping to a 3rd option. Wilson isn’t durable enough to carry the load of second striker particularly if the other striker gets injured. Barnes will do really well for us though.
  15. The difference this lad will make even coming off the bench when he comes back. Genuine goal threat too.
  16. Isak sounds more likely, Botman doesn’t
  17. That’s a great point. What the other clubs are desperate for is for us to be strung up for breaking rules. If we progress without breaking rules it’ll really fuck them off.
  18. Get through this with a win then a good rest over the break then get the players back for some cracking games. Howay the lads!
  19. Particularly when we’re down to the bare bones and have just come off a ballistic draining game vs Arsenal.
  20. A new striker and a winger like Neto next summer would take us up another level.
  21. It’s certainly looking like that. Thing is Wilson is going to become a big part player more and more. He may well become the 3rd rotating striker option. I’d argue we should potentially be looking at a striker to rotate with Isak if we can get them but getting a player like that in Jan might be difficult. Maybe a wide player who can also play striker in Jan ?‍♂️ and then get another proper striker next summer depending on our targets and availability.
