  1. Considering he'd been out for a while I thought he did really well yesterday, pretty much ran the show for the team. Sure he was a bit rusty to begin with but the whole team was.
  2. We always do shit here but no reason why we can't get something this season.
  3. Can someone remind me as I've been too lazy to look into it? I'm guessing the Spurs match on the 11th will probably come too early and it'll probably be the Wolves match on the 25th?
  4. This or Ben Arfa on the wing at the very least but Shola looked absolutely pedestrian today so the above is defo the best option.
  5. I was at this game last season and I concur it was dog shit. They always seem to play well against us at home and generally play well against anybodt at the Cottage. It would just be good if we could be competetive for starters. Krul Simpson Will Colo Santon Ben Arfa Cabaye Guthrie Jonas Best Shola or Krul Simpson Will Colo Santon Raylor Cabaye Guthrie Jonas Ben Arfa Best Need much more from Shola next week if he starts (stating the obvious)
  6. We need to have a proper go at these from the start not the cautious approach then throw Ben Arfa on with 25 mins left hoping he does something when everyone is getting frustrated. QPR will play well today and they'll be more organised but they haven't made any additions to the squad and it's still the same players who've been conceding goals and getting done in midfield. Get at them from the off and hope the likes of Ben Arfa or Cabaye can unlock the door. Need Shola/Best to take their chances today when they come their way. Can see it being fairly tight.
  7. Their result has made my weekend
  8. A few of the press previews have Ben Arfa starting on the wing. I think he can cause them all sorts of problems on sunday, looking forward to it.
  9. From the likely lineup the Rangers fans are predicting on their message boards they look very light in midfield and in defence. Even without Ba I'd be confident of creating a good few chances.
  10. I think Dalglish has positioned himself perfectly as the most detestable manager/person in the prem at the moment (well with the exception of Suarez and maybe Terry). His arrogant answer last night to the press about Johnson's tackle "I didn't see it" said with a smirk just sums him up for me. Utterly miserable, disgraceful, blinkered idiot of a man. Rather than bring some class to Liverpool he's done completely the opposite, fuck off.
  11. Yeah I just read that now too Dave, sounds like he's had an excellent intensive programme to get himself back ready. Great news.
  12. If Carroll did return I could definitely see Pardew getting him going again, that's not really a concern so I don't think 10m is that much of a gamble. I think the story is a complete non-starter though. Liverpool taking a 25m hit on the transfer and a massive egg on your face for Dalglish, just can't see it. Both parties seem to have moved on but it has been a disastrous move for Carroll and considering where he was challenging for England he's dropped right down out of favour now. Everything about him seems to have suffered as a result and its funny you often don't realise how good you had it until you leave. He must be thinking now "christ I had the number 9 and was banging them in in front of the Gallowgate worshipped by thousands" That was then mate, strange how things work out.
  13. If he continues to play for us like he has been playing there's no way he'll be here past the summer.
  14. Just can't see him leaving this Jan at all. Summer will be a different kettle of fish though but by then I imagine Ashley will have had him signed up to a new contract of sorts meaning potential suitors (and there'll be lots of them) will have to pay Ashley £££££££££££ to get him. That's how I see it anyway.
  15. They'll be bouyed with Hughes in charge and it'll probably be a case of really having to break them down but without Barton and Faurlin we really should have enough to take them. Won't be nearly as easy as many will expect though.
  16. I'm not "stressed" about this window however we really do need to sign a defender as cover for Williamson or Coloccini as mentioned above. The reason I'm not stressed is because I threw all logical stress out the window a while ago and logic would've meant us sign a centre half and a striker. The board is clearly seeing that we can "make do" with what we've got up front while Demba is away so they won't bother with a striker. Can't see Demba going at all, saggy face mentions a clause and then all the papers go bananas with the story. The latest is there's a bidding war among 6 clubs, Yeah right, fuck off. As skirge says it's probably related to relegation or at the very least if there is a clause in there, I'm guessing the club will offer him a new contract on more money to stave off the chance of him going. The only way I could see him going in the summer is if someone offers daft money but he's integral to the team and seems to be enjoying his time here especially as we took a punt on him with his knee questionmarks.
  17. He's exactly what Man U need but as mentioned before Fergie doesn't often go for African players. To be fair someone like Sneijder fits the bill better for Man U.
  18. He can't surely start Obertan on the wing having seen that? I mean I could kind of live with Raylor on the right and Ben Arfa behind a striker..........
  19. Ready to terrorise QPR next weekend!
  20. Well with the news that Marveaux may be back next month and with the option of Raylor on the right not to mention Ben Arfa, Obertan better seriously think about doing "something" soon because he's being pushed to the back of the queue. I think 15-20 min cameo roles using his pace is his best bet at this stage.
  21. Going to watch this with my QPR mate so that should be interesting. Pressure really starting to build on them now, fans getting very frustrated with Warnock. Need to put this lot to the sword. By the way, what ever happened to SWP after his cameo against us at the start of the season? (super jinx, shit)
  22. I'm not disagreeing with you at all, he is shite and has done nothing to warrant starting games. I'm just saying I don't agree with jeering your own players and I wouldn't if I was at the match.
  23. However bad he was today and yes he was shite, I don't agree at all with fans cheering/jeering him off ffs. We may have to rely on him at some point with no other option. Just don't agree with hurling abuse at your own players. I definitely agree with Dave's point that he's much better suited as an impact sub using his pace against tired legs.
  24. Abeid sounds like he's done enough to warrant a start. Stick Ben Arfa on the wing, atleast he has a goal threat anbd creates loads of pressure with corners. Either that or play him behind Shola/Best.
