West Ham vs Newcastle Utd - 04/05/13 @ 3pm (No TV)

HBA will have had another weeks training, he has to start now. Put Gouffran in as well and atleast we'll have some attacking threat to help Cisse. Colo is key for me even if there's been question marks over him this season, need him in at the back to steady things. And move Sissoko back into a midfield 3 with Cabaye but not as this stupid number 10 role which doesn't work. Tiote is so utterly useless at the moment he shouldn't be playing but we'll need some steel in there, not sure who should play with Cabaye and Sissoko -
Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Captain material? hmmm -
While i hold Pardew fully culpable, Ashley's decision to install Llambias who knows nothing about football has also been a complete disaster.

I'd rather stay remotely (blindly?) optimistic that we'll get something from the game, and not think of that just yet. Villa and Wigan both have much more fight and desire than us currently so I could see them winning the next games against Norwich and West Brom. Thankfully atleast West Brom seem to have hit some form again and Norwich won't roll over at home as their not safe just yet. A point at West Ham would feel like a win. The key game for us is QPR away as I can't see us getting anything at West Ham and well if we go into the Arsenal match needing a result............lets not even go there

Only hope in this match is Coloccini coming back into the side and some attacking options from Ben Arfa and Gouffran either side of Cisse to atleast make West Ham think about us a bit. -
Given the last game of the season between Wigan and Villa, a point might just keep us up which is ridiculous given how utterly shite we are. West Brom seem to have hit form at just the right time and Wigan go to them next.

Just hoping we can get Colo back to provide something resembling leadership if only to grind out a couple of draws in the last few matches. Stick HBA and Gouffran back in the side to atleast give us an attacking threat -
That perfectly sums it up. There isn't anyone in the side to shout at the other players and wake them up. No leadership off the pitch, none on it

That's my main worry, it's all about momentum when you get to this stage and we look f***ing demoralised. Cisse, Cabaye, Sissoko, Debuchy, MYM, Tiote, all showing signs of real frustration on the pitch in recent games and I don't blame them for that. You sign for the club on the promise of being able to play your football and got sold a lie. Their confidence have totally evaporated and I can't see Pardew as the man to inject some drive back into them. We either have to stick with that man and hope results of Villa and Wigan go our way, or get a replacement for the remaining games hoping some fresh impetus will drive us over the line. Pardew is suffocating the life out of this team. That's my fear too, we just look so hopelessly rudderless that I don't see us being able to pick another point up. The players aren't blameless at all but they've been coached into complete confusion. The tactics, the shape and the attitude is all rotten as fuck.

Spurs want shooting here if they get beaten given they're aiming at top four, especially as Arsenal play Man U tomorrow
-
He needs a strong performance here after the debacle in the derby and if we roll over or are steamrolled today then the knives really will be out. We need 3 points but it'll be very tough against this lot and a point would see edging almost to safety.

Saw him walking along Osborne Road yesterday, looked very small -
Exactly this. Moving left to right, snubbing things out, breaking things up and then giving it with short, simple passes. Through the formation, tactics and coaching he seems to have been coached out of what made him good in the first place to the extent that my heart now sinks when I see him on the team sheet.

Fuck me Rogers does half talk some bollocks doesn't he.

By nice I mean someone who seems to get on well with all the players as opposed to someone like say Souness where factions developed. He seems to do well on that front it's the rest of it which is starting to raise questions.

I have to say while I haven't been in the "Pardew out" camp I really am starting to feel pretty apathetic about things. Call me weak willed or fairweather, whatever it is but my interest really is waning. I've been to more games this season than I have in a long time as I've moved back here to study Physio but the football is rank average, there's too many nonsense quotes coming out of the camp from Pardew and we seem to have totally lost our way under his "leadership" this season. If he is going to stay we really have to see some changes next season in the playing style and approach to games. Whether thats himself taking a long look in the mirror, bringing a new coach or both. The team looks stale at best and desperately in need of some new ideas to breathe life into it. I just get the feeling that while the bloke might be a nice guy and a good man manager he's out of his depth and kind of stumbling from match to match. If there is a player recruitment drive this summer (assuming we stay up) and he goes into next season fully armed the first 10 games will tell us all we need to know and what many think/expect I guess.

Did I honestly hear him talk about the state of the pitch in his bbc interview? Dear oh dear
-
A bad result tomorrow and he'll really start to feel the pressure. There better be a distinctly different, sharper approach tomorrow.

If West Ham can put Wigan away on Saturday....and QPR put Stoke away

Have to get Cabaye involved further down the pitch and try and get some decent crosses in for Cisse (god imagine that ) The longer we p*ss out in this skid mark of a season the more the pressure we'll heap on ourselves going into the last couple of games and god forbid we get ourselves into a situation like that. If the manager and players pull their fingers out on saturday we could finally put this utter s*** of a season to bed. -
Would it amaze you if the change ('it's been difficult to adjust') is a problem? I don't know what to think anymore really, I'm certainly not expecting sudden free flowing expansive football Pardew looks pretty lost to me so on balance no I'm probably not expecting much. I suppose I'm interested to hear what he says if its still utter dogshit. I think there's enough quality in the side to atleast pull out enough in the remaining games to secure safety irrespective of the way he sets us up.

The remaining 5 games are all a week apart, no excuse for using "fatigue" as an excuse for performances. All teams have a degree of tiredness come the end of the season, it's all relative. The burdon of europe is gone now, lets see what's turned out in these last 5 games
