Currently there are other players I'd be much more worried about losing especially for the derby.

They said it was either surgery or just a longer period of rehab without surgery and were going to come to a decision after assessments from a variety of people. Seems like a really mixed bag though, I for one don't expect to see him play again this season.

Manchester City vs Newcastle United - 30/03/13 @ 3pm (not on TV)

Pretty much spot on really. Lets be honest we're not expected to get anything from the match so I'd rather have bodies back for Fulham which is huge. Still stranger things have happened so you never know. -
He's made himself out to look a right fucking moron in all this. Wigan could've handle this so so differently......for the better. From the chairman down to manager to fans in the stands its been a complete and utter stink fest. Shambles. Whenever it is they next come to St James the whole ground will literally be baying for blood. Arseholes

Nice to see Martinez is still completely missing the point over this tackle. He's gone right down in my estimations as a result of all of this. Basically saying that too much has been made of this tackle and that there's been too much focus on McManaman as a result. He even went as far to say on a talkshite interview that the lads talent is being overlooked as a result Comparing the situation to them losing a player to injury recently. f*** me just doesn't get it does he. Not once have I heard him condemn the tackle and say "you can't go around doing that whether intended or not" Arsehole.

Whatever shitness O'Neill is displaying currently he always has teams fired up for derbies wherever he's been.

They'll do enough to stay up. They often pull results off in games where you'd expect them to get nothing

Due back in training this week I think. No I think he's already been back training but Fulham home is the more likely return. -
A sport truly stuck in the dark ages, fuck me

What did he basis his prognosis on? Angle and force of impact, the degree of pain the lad was in and the fact he couldn't straighten his knee after. He was just speculating obviously but was saying he'd be very surprised if it isn't a serious serious injury
-
Physio lecturer was saying yesterday he thought it would be 8 months out minimum as he may have done his posterior cruciate as well as his anterior cruciate and his lateral collateral ligament. f***ed basically Will hope the scans show less though
-
Wigan was a poor performance from too many in our side but to have those injuries and those ridiculous refereeing decisions all go against us in one match ffs I hate the fact that the traditional Wigan "March arrival" is being wanked off over off the back of this result where they basically cheated and fluked their way to win off the back of those decisions. Hopefully their true form will show up over the next few games.
-
Definitely, you could see how our play suffered without him and I'd hazard a guess that he would've dealt with that cross better than Santon.
-
Given how close knit so many of the teams are in the bottom half points wise it really could come down to goal difference for some teams in terms of staying up/going down.
-
They'll never get that lot with the £20m transfer kitty which the papers were saying Rodgers is getting in the summer. That "list" was reported weeks ago
-
Wigan have to face in their last games a massive game at home to Norwich, a 6 pointer at QPR, Man City away, Spurs home, Arsenal away and possible stay up/go down on the last day at home against Villa. There's relegation hope in those games.
-
True, miniscus, ligament damage can be a lot more serious.
-
To think Villa are only 3 points behind us and if Wigan win their game hand will only be 3 points behind us..................what a shocker of a season, christ
-
I see Dave Whelan a man who had his career ended by a knee injury has been throwing his 2pence in............ "‘The ball was there. Young McManaman went in for the ball and got the ball as clean as a whistle, but in the follow through they collided. The referee saw it all, he had clear view on that. McMananman is just an enthusiastic lad.’" Arsehole

We have a tough, tough fixture at City next but Southampton have Chelsea at home, Villa Liverpool at home, Wigan play Norwich so one or both will drop points and QPR go to Fulham. Mackems have Man U. Unless there's some really extraordinary results we shouldn't be drawn further into it assuming ofcourse we lose at City. This 2 week break might not be a bad time to take stock and re-charge the batteries for some of the players.
-
I think it'll be less than 39 mate, 37 or 38 will probably do it. Agree about the next two home games though, especially Fulham and if we were to lose that game we really are in troubling if you assume we're coming off a defeat to City. Wouldn't be surprised if we draw against the Mackems in a nervy affair as s*** as they are but I think we'll beat Fulham.
-
Conceding late in games as opposed to grinding out dull but extremely valuable points is killing us. The Swansea game and now Wigan. Handball or no handball you just shouldn't be conceding in a game like that in the 89th minute ffs. Looks like the Fulham game is emerging as another must win game because I can't see us getting anything at City. Boy we do like to make things difficult for ourselves, christ.

We can't win away from home, so it's the inevitable defeat sadly.
