There are some people who will massively overreact. I am still massively on board with the club, it’s been fantastic so far since the takeover. I think Eales and Mitchel will go on to do a good job. But I think it’s also possible to say that in isolation this window has been extremely poor so far, there’s no getting away from that.

I get where Shearer is coming from though. I doubt he’s suggesting we bring in any old popcorn signing a la Shepherd back in the day, more genuine quality to push the team on. To finish the window without bringing in any nailed on starting players for the first team and failing to strengthen either of the two areas that every man and his dog knows needed strengthening is hardly a good look and questions will rightly be asked.

Particularly as Howe was quoted as saying he can play both sides. Gordon can play RW but that means having to shift one of your star players out of position all the time. It’s an odd one but it sure Howe would give x number of reasons for it.

I think that can work, kind of feel he needs to find a way to get Barnes on because she’s a goal threat and a far better option than Murphy or Almiron. The frustration is Barnes either can’t or Howe won’t play him on the right at all.

I don’t really see the point of bringing DCL in if we’re keeping Wilson too, seems an odd one. Mind the lad would be a decent back up option I suppose 🤷‍♂️

6/10, ok maybe 7/10 given we signed Kelly and at least have a back up striker too. Not good enough though.

It’s a huge week for the club for me, they need to get some signings in.
