Yeah as I mentioned somewhere else, they’ve stepped away from deals before when the price is too high. I have no issue with them doing that but less than 48hrs before the window ends with no obvious back up that we know of yet is ridiculous. Who knows what’s happened, was someone saying “let’s move on” the other saying “keep pushing for him”

Who knows what’s gone on but it’ll eventually come out if there has been an issue. Worse case scenario Howe decides he doesn’t have enough control and does the off to England. Let’s just see how this plays out though.

I don’t have an issue with us walking away if we feel we’ve made a fair offer. The problem is deciding this too late and leaving us short of a plan B CB. Lack of CB coups really hurt us before Jan.

Bit harsh sacking him if you haven’t improved the first 11 in the last two transfer windows. If we do strengthen I agree there’s probably an argument to support him going if we don’t make Europe.

I get all the queries over the amount of the fee and how it’s been played out in public (seems like Palace have driven this) but I’ll still be chuffed if we get him in. He would really bring so much to that defence in terms of composure and recovery pace and I think it would give everyone a bit of a lift.

My concern is if things are that tight now PSR wise at the start of a new 3 years of financial regulations that we can only afford a total outlay of roughly 70m on transfers it doesn’t exactly bode well moving forwards. Or have I got it completely wrong?
