I know there are lots of factors at play including the dreaded PSR but if you’d said to me a few years back we would potentially coming out of the 24/25 season summer transfer window with no first 11 signings I’d have been shocked and bemused. Fwiw I still think we’ll make a signing or two and it does appear that there’s a log jam in lots of the market and things will probably really hot up from here on in or certainly in the last week. Pressure is on though.
-
Deals ‘often’ happen late in the window, you can’t rule anything out at this stage.
-
Hasn’t proved he can organise a defence has he. I like the predictions, gives us plenty chance to go under the radar and prove people wrong at the same time.
-
I think the club does need to do something positive in this window though. It will have been a poor one if nothing else comes in and it would help generate some excitement and momentum. I can’t see top four without a couple signings either as I’ve said before.
-
Felix signing for Chelsea, I wonder if anything happens with Madueke after this.
-
Love that. He properly shrunk with the abuse and was ineffective after that.
-
It certainly hasn’t played out how they usually do but both Caulkin and Douglas have said club would dispute how many bids there’ve been. All the noise seems to have come from the Palace end.
-
Thanks for the info as always. Will be interesting to see what happens. I still think it might happen based on absolutely nothing other than gut instinct and snippets of info such as from yourself 😂 I think there’ll be a few outings maybe Trippier and that will mean we bring a RW in. I think it’s about to get very hectic.

Waugh saying it’s going to have to be finalised one way or another next few days. Either pay up or move on (which is pretty obvious really)
-
That maybe the case but on the evidence of the euros he looks pretty fucking good to me. I’m sure there’s areas he can improve in, he’s only 23/24 too and Howe and Tindall seem to have a knack in this set up of pushing players on. What will be will be, I just hope we get some CB cover/depth in.
-
A lot of our play under Howe relies on being super fit, so it’s fair to say we’re probably no quite there yet and finding our way a bit. That’s no excuse for flat performances but I think you’ll see us looking much sharper a few games in.
-
I think a fully fit Tonali can help with this.
-
Apparently he’s shit now after yesterday 😂 Yes fwiw I think they’ll have one more go this week and then turn to alternatives. I suppose they can’t leave it too late otherwise they might leaves themselves short but Mitchel and co aren’t mugs they’re aware of that.

Watching the game from the Leazes yesterday I still think we lack that attacking creative option on the right. A genuine option there would really give teams something to think about and create more space in general and against defensive set ups at home. It would also help the RBs. We can certainly “manage” without a new RW with current options but it definitely limits our overall play and particularly in big games. Going to be an interesting two weeks.

I don’t think we were terrible or awful. Yes it was disappointing we didn’t come out of the traps straight away but Gordon looked a little off the pace and I think we just lacked a little zip which effected the press. It was a flat start to the game for sure but I was fairly confident we’d make our quality count as the game went on then the red card happened. The first few games some players are always finding their form and fitness. I think we would’ve gone on and won 11 v 11 and as it was we dealt with a difficult situation really well in the end and still won. Im interested to see what we look like this coming weekend though as we’ll have to be a lot sharper.
-
Exactly. Man some of the comments in this thread and the Minteh thread 🤦♂️😂 “We should be doing this, we should have done that”. How about we let the paid professionals get on with it an assess at the end of the window.
-
The whole league is going to mental last couple of weeks I think
-
One or both of Isak will almost certainly move without champions league football next season.
-
Human battering ran but also great on the ball. Will be even better I think with Tonali or Willock playing Edit: if he’s improved his finishing he’ll be lethal
-
I really like him, I know he’s limited to a point but as others have said he was injured for much of last season. Ultimately Willock and Tonali offer more each with different attributes but Longstaff absolutely has a role to play here.
-
True and it’ll be interesting to see what happens. It’s a bit of Guehi situation in that he two years left but I can’t see him agitating for a move and I’d be surprised if Liverpool are prepared to pay an absolute load of cash on a LW given the options they already have with Diaz etc. You never know though 🤷♂️

I agree I also think Tino snd our RBs would benefit from a more creative threat on the right too.
