If we do well in these next few games then that sets us up really well for the second segment of the season. Lets be honest you’d expect good results against Villa and Saints and then one last hoorah against Chelsea before the World Cup where we may have a fitter Saint Max available. You just wonder if we go into January 5th or 6th what impact that might have on the window. Potential players would be looking thinking “that’s a great opportunity” and the club might really push to add some more quality. Our defence is solid but the attack has really got close to its potential due to injury. Exciting to think what we could do from the end of December with Saint and Isak and potentially some additions.
  2. I could see a right back come in on loan or something in Jan. Wasn’t there the lad at West Ham this summer? Losing Trippier for a period could really effect us so I imagine the club will be well aware.
  3. It’s just petty comments and clickbait headlines from Holt now. I don’t have an issue with someone raising concerns or even being against Saudi involvement but 1) you have to acknowledge the wider geopolitical picture and 2) it’s the way you present your points. I’d they aren’t balanced and you go down the route if Holt then lose your credibility particularly with previous twitter comments on the source of money and attending certain boxing matches. Id love to see him have to try and argue his points with say George Caulkin/Hope and listen to the “other side” including from the fans something he simply refuses to do. We are apparently the route of all evil now.
  4. I think on balance we probably need all our big guns playing to go to places like Spurs and win. Defensively we are sound but without key attackers I still think we’re a bit limited against the very best. But I think we can still give them a game, it’s just a concern if Spn and Kane really turn it on which might make the difference in this match.
  5. I would prefer to see Longstaff, Joelinton and Bruno. Willock always feels better as in impact player for me as he doesn’t seem to stamp his authority enough in games early on (just my take anyway)
  6. It’s a very odd video to say the least. He’s clearly playing up to the bias of a Man U/Liverpool based talk show football wise anyway. For starters he clearly states how is lecturing Klopp on ethics and behaviour but at no point does Howe say anything like that. I suspect Auclair has read misleading headlines only by Hope and Edwards which insinuate something more inflammatory from Howe. But if you listen to the whole interview all the answers are diplomatic and carefully worded as they always are. Secondly I don’t really get why he’s so incensed about what we’ve spent. Eddie basically said we’re working with FFP and have to deal with that. I don’t see the amount we’ve spent as exorbitant compared to other clubs ?‍♂️ He merely fact checked what Klopp has said about seemingly limitless funds which can be spent right now and rightly so. Thirdly he’s clearly incensed by Saudi involvement. This will always be a divisive issue but it’s a complex geopolitical issue, why are you using a football manager as the focus for your anger? If you’re that annoyed, lobby the premier league, acknowledge the government who sell fucking bombs to Saudi Arabia. Fuck me the royals give them a state visit ffs. Why is part ownership of nufc suddenly the route of all evils? It’s the playing up to the hosts calling Howe a midget and getting completely carried away which makes him look like a cunt really let’s be honest. When you do that you lose all credibility and the issue for lots of these journos including Holt et al is they won’t engage with fans and journos. It’s all one sided which suits their agenda. They won’t look at any of the positives of the takeover or acknowledge how fans have had zero say in this takeover but apparently we’re all scum now. None of these fuckers were interested in the fans or city plight during thr Ashley years. We’ll have our moment now and it’ll properly wind them up which I love.
  7. I think we’re well placed to be able to frustrate them and stand up to them physically. Frustrating them will get the crowd on their backs too. My only concern is maybe not having enough attacking wise to put them away and these are the types of games which would suit Isak and ASM but we are where we are with injuries I guess. Would happily take a point

    Joe Willock

I think he’s looked really good recently. His problem is (and this goes for other players too such as Targett) that we’re probably going to bring in higher quality in his position and someone whose a better goal scorer. I think he’ll still get game time moving forwards but probably more as an impact sub and rotational player next season.
  9. Like I think you’d notice a big difference with Shelvey playing there as you’d have another quality passer who can control things on top of what Bruno offers. Realistically we’re probably looking at recruiting another starting number 6 and maybe another attacking option.
  10. I think he’s a good squad player but he doesn’t have the speed or technical ability to start regularly when everyone is fit (and when you consider we’ll be strengthening again). I still think he’ll improve under Howe though.

    Dan Burn

Burn is hilarious when things kick off on the pitch, he just stands there laughing and moving people out of the way. Hard as nails.
  12. Id expect a reaction from them after that piss poor performance last night at Old Trafford. They can be quality when they turn it on but we’re tough as old boots and with Almiron in such good form you never know. If the game is 0-0 well into the game and we’re frustrating them the crowd will get on their backs. Can see it being a 1-1 or a 1-0 either way
  13. Well done to the lass grinding that one out against a horrible team. We should’ve been up by 2-0 at halftime really. Murphy is so shite ?
  14. Start strong and take a lead, make changes later on it seems ?
  15. Very, gutted I can’t go (covid). I’ve had about the strongest result possible on day 5 ffs ?
  16. Tight game, will be confident if we score first but without some of our flair it’ll be more difficult. Crowd will be massive tonight.
  17. I don’t really get the angle currently that we are operating on another level to everyone else. Sure we can spend more than some but FFP ensures that we need to grow our revenue before we can really spend big. It’s not like we can spend whatever we want on the squad right now and that’s what’s being insinuated and what other fans and managers are concerned about. Nobody really gives a shit that we can spend money on the academy or a new training ground, it’s signing the best players that puts the shits up people.
  18. Could be vital to free up Bruno for creativity given Isak and Saint are both going to be out for a bit
  19. Really hope I can bloody go. All rides on a lateral flow tomorrow
  20. Thanks for the reminder, just got one for £20
  21. I don’t see how one game should have that much of a physical impact on someone but he’s clearly got a very tricky hamstring that needs managing though. I work as a physio but working with recreational athletes as opposed to elite performers and they can be a nightmare or manage.
