I agree could be huge for us this season. If they get the balance right Joelinton, Bruno and him could be some midfield.
-
Would be huge if we can pull this off, makes our back line so much stronger. He can go up against physically strong strikers and is quick. Looks good on the ball and fits in with the no dick head policy š¤ Id almost be content with this and then making do at RW with what we have.
-
I think it could still happen but weāre probably looking at viable āback upā options to Schar too now.
-
Pope and Willock staying fit and Tonaliās return could be huge. I think Kelly will prove to be an excellent acquisition too.
-
Agreed. āIfā the window closes and we dont bring in a single first 11 starting option thatās a major disappointment.
-
With absolutely no injuries maybe especially with a fit Willock and Tonali coming back. We do have a lot of quality I agree and the window has been a āsuccessā so far in terms of keeping the big hitters but as it stands not to add any starting first 11 options ie CB and RW would be a real disappointment for me (caveat thereās still time. Just my opinion obviously.
-
2 new starters at RW and CB I think weāre looking at 4th or 5th. The squad as it is with inevitable injuries (hopefully nowt like last season) I think weāre looking at 5th to 7th.

This board is on the verge of implosion if we donāt get one š

Weāve got all the right people in the right places now. Mitchel is known for unearthing gems and Iām sure weāll see those in the medium and long term. Occasionally when a big player becomes available though thereās no harm in going for them whether itās a Howe biased, Mitchel biased or dual decision. Like any working relationships one needs to respect the others viewpoint otherwise it wonāt work. For what we need right now Howe and Mitchel are ideal.
-
I think his point is youāre insinuating that Howe has no control over transfers moving forwards? I donāt see that working either. Plus we donāt know whether Guehi was exclusively a Howe choice, thereās usually a collective decision on targets.
-
Ah well wouldāve been a nice signing this one. I feel quite relaxed about this now but just a bit concerned about the lack of depth behind Schar. Who knows maybe this can be rekindled and itās still all posturing from both sides or we can hopefully get another option in then move for that RW spot.
-
Was listening to an interview with Henry Winter on tf previewing the season and on players he said Madueke if we could get him would be ideal for that RW.
-
Weāll agree to disagree šš
-
While Iām desperate for us to sign a RW, weāre royally fucked if we get an injury to Schar.
-
Well the deal isnāt exactly dead yet, but it does seem unlikely now. I still think weāll sign a CB and RW by the end of the window as well have other targets. Still 2.5 weeks but clock is ticking for sure.
-
I think if weāve gone in with a genuinely fair offer (in our view) with add ons that increase the amount and theyāve still said you can feel youāve gone as far as you can. I agree Palace can rightly try and bleed us for every penny and they not going to just hand him over but thereās a tipping point isnāt there. They might price him out of a move and end up losing money. Someone else might come in and give them 70m who knows. I guess the point is if you feel youāve offered a fair amount for the player and havenāt taken the piss and they still say no you eventually have to walk away.
-
Just watched that video and yeah Iām inclined to agree with moving on now sadly. 70m (if thatās what they want) is too much for me. Weāve made our 3 bids, they donāt think itās enough, move on to other targets.
-
I guess it just depends how far apart they are. Also if the Madueke deal is very doable they may decide to cut their losses as you say.
-
Apparently miles apart on valuation so very unlikely this happens
-
Yeah Bowen would cost an absolute fortune ffs š
-
Yeah youād hope Guehi comes in, a few go out last minute with a RW coming in last minute. Thatās my guess anyway.
-
Im coming round to the idea that we can āmanageā the RW position with various options. Itās less than ideal but if Guehi signs that strengthens the team far more. Iām still pretty hopefully that before the end of the window weāll have another RW option too though.
-
Would certainly be a massive boost going into the first game if this was confirmed next week.
