I get where you’re coming from but we’ve got pretty lucky with Schar and injuries recently and he’ll need replacing at the end of the season. Schar gets injured as we don’t have anyone currently. Just listening to the lads on all with smiling faces podcast and own saying Miggy going out could be the key to a RW signing. I hope that isn’t the case but it could be. I think we will strengthen the RW position and I think a few outgoings such as Trippier will seal it.

If we bring Guehi in and sign a RW who can change/win games (with Gordon opposite) we’ve got a team who can go to top sides and cause them major problems.

Sounds like final amount and structure of payment type situation. Fingers crossed we close this one out.

I can understand if we weren’t going to bring in a brand new expensive striker but I’d be very surprised if we didn’t have the funds for two starters. (And I still think some players will go out if needs be too)

Hes still not near good enough either, fine as a squad player. I don’t think we get top four without a new starting RW.

I still think the issue with him is that he’s just not good enough. He’ll hit the odd worldly, but he’s horrendously one footed and his decision-making for a final pass can be really poor. If he’s starting RW for the 24/25 season something has gone wrong.

If we come out of the window without signing a proper new RW the window will have been a failure. We’ve needed one for ages, has to be sorted.

I like your positivity and there’s loads going for us but its just my opinion and I’d love to be proved wrong.

Cacapa v Portsmouth was shocking, I was in the Gallowgate for that (lost 4-1 I think)

But in this case we’re looking to spend upwards of 60m on a 24 year old who’s proved himself in the premier league and at the euros. Signing a player at the end of his career for mega money and mega wages is a different discussion.

If they genuinely want him I think they’ll get him. They can pay higher wages, have champions league, club stature etc.

It sounds like as it often is that it’s down to amount and the payment structure. I agree we probably need to nail it down next week then finalise details but I doubt it’ll get down in a few days.

I agree with you Gordon won’t be sold but if Liverpool offered 100-110m I think we sell not 150. I don’t think Liverpool would ever pay that tho considering what they already have.

I think we’ll end up walking away really and move onto another target. Palace will obviously want a bidding war.
