No chance they’re less loyal? why would you be lining somebody’s pockets who has next to no interest in giving you the best value for your money? A good portion who stayed only stayed as it was an excuse to get pissed and get away from the Mrs for a day. I swore that I wouldn’t return to St James until Ashley was gone after the Hull game where there was a piss poor attempt for the sack Pardew protest. I had two idiots behind me telling me to sit down when I held my banner up. Atmosphere dead, SD signs everywhere.. no chance I was doing an 8 hour round trip every week to witness that. Said it before, you’re not gonna keep going to your once favourite restaurant if they’re constantly serving you shit. Ashley respected none of us.. each to their own if you wanted to give him your hard earned money, but I certainly wasn’t contributing.

I will never forgive him for putting Ameobi on the right wing ahead of Ben Arfa.

Food wise, I'd say a bit more variety in the catering vans around the stadium would be sufficient. Seen it at Man City and West Ham's grounds, worked pretty well with a lot of different choices in cuisine.. queues were sound. The club takes a % and the local businesses get a nice earner on matchday. I'd also like them to start taking cash all around the ground again too, which I very much doubt happening in a new ground/upgrade, unfortunately.

First time I seen him play in the flesh was Saturday, he looks a lot taller than what he looks on the telly? definitely gonna be a handful once he fills out a bit. Like many have said, he looks so confident all around. Movement, communication, everything is beyond his years. Seen Gordon having a good chat with him just before kickoff, looks like they’ve got a good relationship.

More concerned we can’t put 3 keepers on the bench now tbh. Harper is gonna have to put his gloves back on for a short term deal.

Just got home. Had an hours kip in the services, got me stuck behind a parade of HGV’s and rear wheel drives unable to deal with the snow on the M1? was like a bloody war zone. I’ve not seen us look that dominant this season other than the Sheffield Utd game. If luck was on our side it could have been nearer that score line. Tino just seems to get better every game and Miley the same. Someone mentioned in another thread that the players seem to be reluctant to pass to Miley.. I did notice that Big Joe blanked a pass that would have been a great chance for Miley early on. Can’t work it out as he seems to have settled in very well in his few games for us. Hats off to everyone, great team performance especially after Paris. Got full faith in them for the next few games energy wise.. just need that little bit of luck on our side.

I get where you're coming from. It'd be hard to judge, but I've noticed no more kids than usual being brought to the games. I certainly don't think that there's that much of an influx of families to have an impact on the atmosphere. If there were a few thousand more, maybe.
-
Suppose it depends on the kid, but I’ve had some of the best days/atmospheres when taking one of the family’s kids with me.. most of them love it when you get a song going and then are well up for it themselves. Did you go to games as a kid may I ask?

Like a fucking family wedding playlist from 20 years ago. Hang the DJ.

From the stream playing on my phone today it sounded loud? Fair play to Mehrdad imo.. yes the random seat allocation doesn’t help create an atmosphere, but it’s still not the greatest excuse. Mentioned it before, brought my Mrs up for the first time for the Villa game sat in the Leazes. Thought she was gonna fall in love with the place.. now not arsed about coming after claiming "You’ve only got one song". This is the first game of the season where we won 5-1? Was stood in the standing section for the Liverpool game, first half absolutely fucking rocking but we went dead after about 50-60 mins. Can’t put my finger on the root cause. Better seating and singing/standing sections on the other side will help, but it’s down to all of us to sing our fucking heart out. We’ve come so far from where we were a few years ago, baffles me why most can’t be arsed.

Your own football ability - how good are/were you?
ryanegg replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
All I remember as a kid was my Dad shouting from the sidelines “RUN PROPERLY YOU FUCKING SPAZ” with the other parents just staring at him with open mouths? That was my football career over and done with at about 6 years old. -
We'd have the EDL marching outside SJP if Eddie said this?

Are you sure it was only weed 5AM in Ibiza??

He had a stormer against Chelsea in the cup from what I remember. A lot on here were buzzing at the time. From what I know/have heard from him, he’s grown up in the bits, shit influences around him constantly from a young age. He’s never had the nous to break out of that despite numerous opportunities. You see it time and time again with many young sportsmen, all the talent but just don’t have it up there to live up to their ability. Ravel Morrison another one.

Even heard it on the telly

I'm not saying it's the greatest option, but it's the best out of a bad bunch for us at the minute.

Big Joe can do a job up top if needed, he was definitely playing up front of some sorts last night.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
ryanegg replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
The odds aren’t in our favour, but we could still qualify. Anything can happen, let’s have a bit more positivity. -
Think it was hard to work out for the players too.

Pound notes. A lot of people are hard up at the minute. Either they've not got the money to make the trip and they've given it a mate, or they've sold it on for a few hundred quid profit.
