  1. I bet we kinda would look like Arsenal did against Barcelona if we'd try to implement a possesion based strategy against them today. What pardew chose to do was strap it up and see where it took him. At the end of the game they could chase it, and they tried by spunking in what pace he had to try to stir things up abit. Many of the new players wasn't there tonight so the technical ability was pretty meh tbf. I think he did what he could. Allthough he could've chosen other players to sit on the bench.
  2. Was really frustrated to see him I think. He showed that he had skills when on the ball. But seemed like he tried to hide at times, walking behind arsenal players and numerous occasions. Thought he would seek the ball alot more. Once he was placed in the hole betweeen midfield and striker at the end of his stint he showed some more. But he also showed us that he ain't a Lampard kind of guy. Will give him some more time though to get warm and get going. Against some lesser sides where he hopefully will have some more time with the ball he will show some great stuff. Also what I really think lacked in the game was movement from the wings and up front. Moving down into the hole by Ba and Ameobi aswell as forward runs from guiterrez and Barton. When that happends I bet we will see more of his vision for runs and to pick the right pass.
  3. Last I heard he was falling out with the Lyon fans for playing rather poorly. Was highly regarded in portugal so should be some potential in there. Lyon might want to cash in, as I do believe they got some players on their books ready to step up?
  4. dental problems wasnt it that caused his move to Milan to break down? It was.
  5. Atleast happy to see the board trying to replace Enrique with quality. Chissoko has medical problems, so there might be something in it?
  6. If Cabaye can pull off anything near what tiote did last season I would so jizz my pants. Relax and jizz them again. Tiote was immense. And I so hope Cabaye will be a hit in the black and white jersey. Really hope we'll see some fantastic offensive footie this season. Have something major to build on for the next. 'Cuz I really just see this season beeing a inbetweener as we still got hell lot of high earners we are waiting to get rid off.
  7. Bendtner do have great technique imo. He rather often dribles past to create space for himself and do some neat stuff on the pitch. And he does have physical presence aswell a great targetman. More in the berbatov mould. And as I stated earlier, I really do think Ba prefers to play off a bigger man then himself beeing the mobile player trying to find space to finish. I do believe he played off a bigger man in hoffenheim. Aswell as he did it in West Ham.
  8. Scum is scum, wherever it comes from
  9. Teamtalk full of comments from scum supporters giving obertan their support to flourish here.
  10. Keirission came to europe with a reputation from SA. I bet Ashley sees resale value in him if they would get anything out of him.
  11. Can't really complain about injuries yet, as we knew he was injured when we bought him. A little knock like that happends all the time. And more so often with players who loves the ball in their feets. If we in a year still see him with less then 10 appearences there is a reason for concern. Allthough I will give him some time to recover and get things going for him during the fall. But in december I really expect him to be at his best.
  12. Ba played alongside Cole in west ham. And I belive he is more comfortable in the moving around beeing more of a finisher then a targetman for support. Besides I do bet Ben Arfa, Obertan and Marveaux are all players happy to come into the box to finish off, or run between FB and CB for a through ball.
  13. As long as he's happy and shows that he's happy on the pitch I wouldn't really care. But it hopefully will pay off big time when he fires us up into the top 6.
  14. Does he have to replace anyone? He could be something different to example Barton. Or just be in rotation for when players are not 100% or not got their day with the ball in their feets.
  15. I for one allways thought Obertan had potential when watching him. He just need some game time and confidence to get his game together. He do have some skill. Is french speaking aswell as english speaking. Will be good for the group. Aswell as comming from scum wich surely will be in some regard for our imports.
  16. I don't get it, people are never satisfied. This one thing Ashley has done is maybe the only thing I support. It's one of the few good things. The club can't run on borrowed money. So we have to get the wage down. Barton had/has a massive wage we can't afford if we want decent players all over the pitch and in debt. It's just not possible. Do you guys think he's worth 1.5 of ben arfa, or Ba, Cabaye or any of our new top earners?
  17. Cant argue with that, but I wouldn't want to see all 3 of our CB's on the pitch at once. Begging for an injury, that. Coloccini is like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable, all he needs is a cape. Williamson is pretty robust when he isn't trying to push weights with those skinny arms. Williamson had flappy arms last year. Bet he's trying to build up some steel. Could be quite a handy defender. A couple of years in the top division and he could well be a late bloomer for a magnificent defender. He hasn't played at this level before. So I would expect him to adapt more and be more aware. He allready look like he got his mind in the right place in the games and I bet he will just keep on improving.
  18. I really bet we chose Marveaux instead of N'zog, if you are looking at clubs ambition.
  19. Can't remember how many times that highlights mentioned Gosling. He was pretty much up and down the pitch all day. It's a good ability to have.
  20. Football has changed tremendously the last few years. Money spunked into the game since Ashley took over the club has increased by insane amounts. And the failure of the stockmarket surely didn't help Ashley financially. He has bankrolled the club through rough times. And I bet he realized it isn't as easy to make a team challange for the majors as he first thought. He is beeing held responsible for his promises by the fans and we are not forgetting what he said. He tried to recoup his money because Ashley was more of a swear word in the city of Newcastle and people couldn't despise him. He didn't get it sold. And pretty much it seems like his goals with the club has changed dramatically. First off the wage budget has to be sliced down to something the club can support itself. And secondly, he club has to be ran w/o his money. I really bet owning the club has been no fun whatsoever for him over the years. I bet he saw himself as some kind of hero up here when he bought it. Wouldn't you like it too if you had far too much money and didn't know what to do with it? Things doesn't allways go as you'd like in life, and he saw the bitter side in this deal. Instead of paying for our fun I think he rather saw himself of someone who spent that extra bit of cash from his own pocket to be the hero who landed the big names in football. He just shot himself in the foot a couple times too many. Was shot down financially in terms of bankrolling and extra unneccity. Allthough I do think he sees profit in the club in a couple of years. Atleast something his kids can live of when his time is due. And he wants to fix the club to something sustainable, something that will last. Tottenham model in terms of how a football club is ran I think is something Ashley is looking for. Generally low wages for players they got, young players with good resale value able to make the club take its own turns. Where he can spunk that little extra needed to make that big star come here, and Ashley himself be the hero who made it happend. Ashley might be rich, but he ain't a bottomless pit. He has to be aware it's not long ago he was really far down in terms of owning buisnesses as they do have to have backups in bad times.
  21. I must say I quite agree with the bolton fan on the quality in numbers. But our quality in numbers has increased since last season ended. Hopefully we'll add a striker and another player in defence or on the wing. Tavernier seems like he's seen as a player for the first team squad this year. Ferguson has allready taken quite a few steps last season. And hopefully another player like henderson, richardson, ameobi(the little one), phil airey will take a step and play a part in the first team squad aswell next season.
  22. Tiote got what? a 6 year contract, we can atleast keep him for 3-4 years and still get a hefty price for him. Probably will be sold on the back of an excellent season though. But he should command a fee making us able to replace him adequatly (matuidi for instance).
  23. Sturridge, if he comes as good as he was at bolton, got the goals to fire us to europe. But our luck he'll probably get injured right away. But optimism is there, he is my number one target.
  24. Eyy, many of them actually got a CL winners medal, don't forget that.
