who said wor joey couldn't play it out in the middle of the park? He's been brilliant so far. Think of tiote even beside him. Guthrie has been good aswell imo.

Recent interview said he wanted an attacking mentality in the team. Worthy the geordie nation. So the formation suggested in a 4-3-3 is viable imo. Nzog and ben arfa do can finish. Barton can drift out wide to fill the gap of ben arfa and use the space left there. Tiote working his socks of in a sitting role, while nolan poses a threath in the air with a strong striker up top. This formation requires us atleast one top notch striker, would atleast spunk out 15 mill for that one. Rondon comes to mind, aswell as that Caicedo. Strong with hold up play and technique for a passing game. Best is good enough as backup imo. we do have 2 wide men. But would like atleast 1 more. Aswell we do have shane ferguson and kaz as backup.

its quite evident that are squad got big flaws, attacking options are one of the biggest. We can survive with the defence we have now and should adress our goalscoring possibilities.

I do believe skjelbreds contract runs out this summer. Would like us to have a go. Lacks end product sort of, but can carry the ball forward. Wouldn't cost much more then 2mp. Would also try to fetch nzogbia with his contract situation aswell. And a top, top striker. That would see us safely in the top 10 bracket again next year, with a little improvement in january, next season again, would see us in europe.

defoe, nzogbia, mbengue and ireland, I would be very pleased if that came through the doors this summer. If it ment no one left. Adds quality to the side and depth.

The fact that no manager ever haven't heard of undersoil heating in this club. No wonder we've had so many injuries. Now pardew has adressed it, and I do bet we will see less injuries during the winter months from next season on.

That others youngsters starts to break trough to the team might even make the power ranger more aware that he ain't all that yet and work harder. Hope mr. Pardew does use others younsters more to give him a kick in the butt.

Not too happy with that statment. One or two big players my ass! We need at least 3 first team players and a couple more for the squad I see a difference between "big" players and "first team" players. Sure fair enough, but it is unlikely that those "young players" are gonna be ready for the first team which leaves the "one or two big players" as the first team additions. If you add up his statement, it looks like he is targetting betwwen 2-4 players. Bottom line is with a first team that depends too much on one or two players to have any attacking impetus and a threadbare squad, that is clearly insufficient. as long as its more sufficient then whats there now I'm pleased.

what people forget when they say nolan here, barton there is that we ain't got players fully fit and ready to play every game. We can afford giving some players a rest at times, as we play others. There is no THIS IS THE TEAM SHEET FOR EVERYGAME formula. We need depth, having quality in depth is something we've forgot what is. Wouldn't it be cool to have nzog, hba, barton or gutierrez comming of the bench ad turning a game for us? And not just play them all the time hoping things turns out well? We would have selection choices, abit of luxury. Thats what we should do with the carroll money. Allow us to have choices.

2 big players and 2 young ones who do can give a shift in when needed is progress imo. Its more then we have. And yes, we should shift out the likes of smith, campbell atleast. Continuity with a little extra on top. Would love the two big players to be drogba and nzogbia /drool.

Pardew seems commited to give the youths of the club a chance. I'm rather pleased about that. Hope he sends a few out on a loan. And keeps blooding a few during next season.

What I really want is just to add to what we got. More pace, get more options to choose from. Right now we got nile ranger as sole option to change games from the bench. Get rid of some of the dead wood. Get in a few more players with something extra to offer. N'zogbia would be a dream come through. I would really like us to look at skjelbred again. His contract is going out soonish. He still got some unfulfiled potential. He is a pure energized runner who can take a man on. Keeps things simple on the ground though. But he got some more pace then several of our midfielders. With that I really just hope our general play looks better, some games we just look so clueless going forward. We should have someone from the bench who really could shake things up a little if our plan fails.

We should get edwin van der saar in to tutor him when he retires from his manchester job.

to me he seems far to respectfull to be a winger at this point. He doesn't seem confident he could skin the fullback. He got the pace, and the one time he went past ivanovic he showed some trickery. More direct play would be sweet from the lad. Seems buildt for an explosion down the wing.

really like how gutierrez are in the middle of the park. so much energy going forward. could this look like the next seasons formation? having ben arfa in gutierrez role?

IMHO It's a disgrace if he doesn't play tomorrow. We've got 2 games left that i'd like to see us try and win not just see out the season because we're now safe. FFS he might get sold in the summer or suffer a serious injury and miss the start of next season anyway. Worry about next season in August, lets concentrate on the current season now and play our strongest available team. lets have more now, so we might have less later?

don't understand the snodgrass hype around here, he won't cut it on the wing in the prem, he's too slow. Rather have barton out there if thats the case.

tbf to the lads, I wouldn't like to ship anyone of the players that played a part this season. We should sell the ones who didn't play a part to our season, or just ship them out to reduce wage bill. Add to what we've got first. Then rebuild.
