what other factors, sorry? We created chances and failed to score so i suppose Pardew can't do anything about that but i just felt he was in a good position with Ben Arfa on the bench to bring him on and change the game for us. Still can't understand why he left it so late in the game, from about the 60th minute, every minute that passed i was getting more and more wound up the fact he wasn't yet on the pitch
-
Maybe not being at the game on Saturday and watching in a bar on holiday gave me a different view. I was just pissed off HBA wasn't on sooner, felt it was all too late when he arrived, didn't understand changing things around for Cisse, then we failed to get closer to lallana when he came on and allowed him to dictate the play. I'm not being overly critical, i thought overall it was a decent showing from us and had Remy took his chances things may have been different. Just felt Pardew could have won us that game had he made the right changes at the right times.

No, not at all. I don't think he should have been sacked imo, he bounced back from the City hammering well and another heavy defeat and he's gone. It is a harsh sacking and i think the majority would probably agree. If i was a Spurs fan i think you would be expecting a lot more from AVB and he was coming up short on what he was offering. I think he may have survived if his side put some excellent league performances in and destroyed a couple of teams themselves, the fact they have been generally scraping a win by the odd goal and ended up on the back of a couple of humiliating defeats has really went against him I think.

Tbf we've spent nowt to be in this position and the majority on here want our manager sacked. Don't like AVB but these sackings are out of control. Can't expect the team to gel instantly after the widespread changes over the summer. This. Absolute joke to spend around 100m and then sack him 3 months later.... how can you expect all those players to gel? keep in mind that this time last year Arsenal were 10th after making several changes in the summer but did they sack Wenger? did they f*ck. Also for all the hate for AVB and clueless he apparently is, he has the best win rate of any Tottenham manager since the 1800s A flip side to that would be how can AVB expect his side to gel when he's making 4/5 changes between matches. Different defender combinations, different types of wingers, different central midfield roles. I do rate AVB but i've criticised his rotation policy numerous times on here as a massive burden on his side not being able to gel.

Always a difficult situation for a manager to be in when he doesn't bring in his own players but 9 times out of 10 they would have known that they'd be in that position before they took the job. Not often you see the head of the recruitment being sacked over the manager though.

Arsenal are top of the league like. And even in that game they still played some excellent football. Think Arsenal should have been praised for being in a great game of football, not their manager being peddled because they conceded 6. Strange post by SSR.

All the time he was doing s*** you were defending him and now he's doing alright you decide to get on his case? You're a strange lad. What are you on about? I just felt in this particular game, he made some bad decisions (second half) and it's cost us. Yes Remy did miss chances and there were one or two other chances where we could have grabbed 3 points but i just felt Pardew made some back tactical errors and substitions and just gave Southampton that edge in the second half to pull them back into it. Not having a go at him or anything, managers are capable of making bad decisions, don't expect Pardew to get it right every game, just felt here he let two points slip away. He's earned us far more points than he's dropped us this season and i'm delighted with how things are going.

Judging by his quotes yesterday, players they signed is not really who he wanted and he didn't seem happy about that. Spurs might go for Pardew who can deal with a bunch of class acts thrown at him and turn them into a winning side
-
I still like AVB, wouldn't mind him here if we were ever to take a chance on a foreign coach.
-
He cost us two points on Saturday, like. No doubt about it. Changed our system second half and things just never got going and we never really got our fluency back from the first half. Cisse was dreadful and a poor choice of sub and Hatem was brought on far too late. Could see we really missed Cabaye even though Anita had a decent game himself, lacked a bit of cutting edge. Think the draw was the fair result but was a big missed opportunity to get another win on the back of the OT result but 4 points from them two games is a nice return. We still go into Crystal Palace in good form and expecting a draw at the very least even though they themselves are much improved.

Don't think Sissoko makes better decisions in areas that count. If anything Sissoko always makes the wrong decision in the final third. This, so frustating to watch. You find yourself screaming at him everytime he gets in space with the ball. Hopefully he will improve in this area but at the moment his decision making is awful.

Still bullshit, nobody moans when he's scoring about attitude, suddenly misses and wasn't great and his attitude/commitment is played into question. It's like someone said Remy was on the slide under Pardew after one bad game, think it was the Mackem game. He's not world class, he's just a good player in our side who's capable of great spells just as much as the average with a few poor ones thrown in. No need to go overboard on the back of a couple of 'below par' displays shall I say. He plays for us, he will give it his all for us and he wants to score for us whilst he is here, just silly to suggest otherwise.
-
thinking about where he will be next season. Body language lately has definitely seemed off. No idea why. Looks like he doesn't give a s***. Whereas every single player behind him works their bollocks off. DJ, you talk more shit than I do and that's probably saying something! Awful comment that over a couple of missed chances to suggest now he doesn't care or give a shit.
-
All depends though, some managers play the exact same way regardless of opposition like Wenger but then Jose will look at each game individually and might change things up. I understand people saying 'I told you so' that our game was won on the back of their desire to play that way, but Pardew is showing different tactics and variation to our game and so far it's proven effective. Let's stick with how things are going and get behind him, then see where he takes us rather than try and shoot him down at any given opportunity.
-
It took me by surprise because I felt we could win with another Chelsea type performance. Be organised and grow into the game as it went on. I thought that's how we would approach it but Pardew once again completely took his opposing manager by surprise with a different game plan and approach. First class stuff.
-
Unbelievable, can't say I was surprised that we beat them because I felt this team is capable of it but the manner in which we beat them totally took me by surprise. I have said people are fools if they think we can only play one style of football or one formation. There is more to this team and Pardew than that. I genuinely think that result will have turned a few peoples heads and start getting them believing again. No easy game against Southampton but you can't not fancy us to take all 3 points. We couldn't have dreamed of a better start really, couple of low points but far outweighed by the highs.
-
People have been complaining about how we've been playing (even when winning) and you're all 'ever the optimist' We win and people are happy with how we've played and you turn into Jack f***ing Dee. Can understand if I've went over the top but day in day out such negativity, 'we'll get twatted at OT', 'defensive wingers, long balls, static players'. Stuff like that which is no need for. Yes our tactics might be in question but we won games. We don't have one style which I've always denied, we are a very versatile side and Pardew is capable of playing multiple ways and he's proved that in his victories this season. What he doesn't have is a football philosophy like Martinez/Wenger/Rodgers where they will only play possession football to their strengths. This is not a bad thing for those managers, I in fact love it and would always have Wenger over fergie if one were to manage us. However Pardew isn't one for that and has his own way of management and one I've bought into and accepted. He's not shite, he's not great but he's good enough to get us top 8. So far it's been a marvellous bounce back to form given our dire run last season. I can't praise this group enough.
-
Nobody, not one person question nufc4eva for saying what he said. Just accepted it. Yet I throw something back in his face because I thought it was a harsh assessment of our style of play and an unnecessary dig at Pardew and the players and people moan. We will get the credit and recognition we deserve after that. We don't have one style of play, Pardew knows more than just the 4-4-2 and the players are well equipped enough to execute whatever he demands. Let's all enjoy this match and the result and praise them above and beyond because once again, they've gave every ounce of effort and talent in their bodies for us! Magnificent!
-
And only rightly so. After some of the shambles comments here laughing at his manager of the month award. His team selection, his tactics, his substitutions were all second to none today. Best we've played all season by a country mile. Nufc4eva would obvs still prefer watching Gateshead though because we play defensive wingers, play long balls and our players are static
-
Incredible! Amazing!! What a win against the odds. I sincerely hope people praise now not only the players this time but Pardew to a hilt because they were fantastic. I also hope people don't start saying man Utd didn't turn up or any of that s***, we made them like that. They couldn't handle us, we had more possession, created better chances and were far better defensively, all at OT. Full credit to everyone involved in that epic win, sensational stuff!

Thought you would only come back when we win and show how much you hate this setup?
