  1. Those Charlie Adam 30 yarders were going to fly in second half weren't they...
  2. Far be it for me to point this out but, me thinks Brett uses Hughton as a reason to gobble Pardew. The worst Hughton does the better Pardew looks. Well if you're suspicious of mind like. Don't think there's a huge difference in class between them, think it's close but i'd still personally have Pardew everytime. Just Pardew has a far greater standard of players to work with which helps him massively. Hughton has spent a lot of money on his team in the summer and so far he's produced shocking football and shocking results. I agree to an extent tbf, but i've got your number me laddo Piss off, Bimps I've noticed you crawling over to Pardew in recent weeks begging for forgiveness on your hands and knees

  4. I mentioned the Hughton appt when talking about sticking by your appointment...pretty much said i actually do admire them for sticking by him but it's going to be very costly, they should be holding their hands up admitting he's not great. In this case there is better options out there. If they can persuade Van Wolfswinkel to join them, i'm sure there is an upgrade on Hughton they could get to come along. He's not good enough. Fancy them to go down if they stick with him.
  5. I've never really seen him play but i tend to see this type of comment far too often when his name is popped up. Is he actually any good?
  6. The best chance of survival is to sack him. He usually scrapes an important home win against a fellow relegation candidate in times of trouble, now he's losing them, he just has to go.
  7. I've give up, fucking clueless bastards in the Norwich boardroom
  8. Pardew made a big call restoring Ben Arfa and sticking with formation that's worked so well away from home. For whatever reason we had no balance to our midfield, Cabaye/Anita/Sissoko never really seemed comfortable early on, gouffran was nowhere to be seen and Ben Arfa was in and out of the game. Stoke were full value for their one nil lead but i felt we would still turn things around once we made changes to our system to get a foot hold back in the game. Stoke obviously gifted us 3 points with their crazy 5/10 minute period and from then on, it was always a case of how many. Ben Arfa with that much space is just a joy to behold, shame he couldn't cap off his excellent performance with a goal. Hard to take too much from that game other than start like that against Arsenal and we won’t be getting any points that’s for sure. Giving our run of form of late though and some of the performances we’ve put in, Sunday should be an excellent game and no reason why we can’t look to take all 3 points.
  9. this another team I should I add to my list we got lucky against, Venky? This must be half the sides in the PL now!
  10. Alan, you've got another challenge. You've successfully completed every challenge Mick has thrown at you (bar say nothing at all...ever), someone else now fancies a go. Good luck. Tick Next challenge anyone...
  11. Merry Xmas to everyone, hope you all have a fantastic day...even you IP
  12. Crazy how Pardew has turned him into this powerhouse of a winger. Obviously showed glimpses of it last season when asked but never in a million years expected him to become a permanent fixture there. Was absurd to even think about him playing in this position over the summer. Him and Debuchy have formed a very effective partnership though which opposing managers will now be looking to try and stop.
  13. Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle...
  14. That's my point though, he will pick and choose his matches in which he thinks that will be best. At Madrid he pretty much attacked every team but soon as a 'difficult' game came along against top side he changed his style of play and tried to counter more and sit back. Even recent home games he went 4-3-3 against West Brom, didn't really work for them and got lucky, next home game against Southampton, he changes to 4-4-2 and it worked for them. There's nothing set in stone with Jose, he will take each game as they come and look to set up a way in which they can get a positive result. There isn’t a defined style in which you know he’s going to play every game like you know with some managers. And that's not a bad thing, it's just different approach to how many would like to see the game played.
  15. For instance tonight, you don't know what Jose will do. It's not like Arsenal against Man City where you knew Wenger was still going to attack them and look to take the possession from Man City. Jose would have been looking at Arsenal, not worrying about them but looking for a gameplan in which he feels he can stop Arsenal and take 3 points. What that maybe i don't know because like i said he doesn’t have a defined style of play in which he plays week in week out.
  16. He doesn't. He takes a tactical approach to games and differs his style of play depending on the opposition.
  17. I would just like to see us go for teams a bit more tbh rather than worrying what they can do. Something we did against Palace to a degree but need more of that rather than hoping to not concede everytime and trying to shut up shop when 1 or 2 up, however he has done very well so far this season and appears to make correct decisions at times, in fact he has been making more attacking decisions recently bringing on players to attack rather than shut up shop. If he sustains what has happened so far and adds to it then nobody should have any complaints It's not worrying though, it's looking at a side, figuring out their strengths and weaknesses and then setting up a team in a manner you think could be best to take 3 points. If people's opinions are different to Pardew's then fair enough, doesn't make him wrong, it's just you'd like things done differently. Benitez/Mourinho to Wenger/Pep, all excellent managers but one side of them favour the sort of tactical approach to games other two prefer the attacking possession approach. Of course if I had a choice I’d prefer the second two options because it’s far more pleasant on the eye and the ‘right way’ to play football. However you can’t argue with results and if the first pairing get them with their methods like Pardew is doing then it’s fine by me. I’m not going to moan because he doesn’t play the same football as Martinez and want him to be someone he isn’t. Everything is going swimmingly and Pardew is doing an excellent job and long may it continue.
  18. Hope he asks to play in the under 21's every week, be good for them.
  19. Comfortably. Don’t think many would disagree with that.
  20. If i was manager of another club, i'd be looking to take him on the cheap. He's got talent no doubt about it, just sadly it's looking like we'll never see the best of it. He for me has been our recent let down of the players we've signed.
  21. Think we'll go same as Southampton except Cabaye for Anita. Fancy us to win 2-0.
  22. Whether I could or not, I'm not going to. Basically, he couldn't. Not every manager has a style of play or blueprint. A lot of managers will set up his side in a way they think will be best to beat the opposition, others will pretty much stick to what they know each game and may vary it slightly. The whole we don't have defined style of play under Pardew is a load of shit to be honest. Many managers don’t, what’s Jose’s defined style? He changes it up a lot but he wins matches in whatever way he can. Fans are basically criticising Pardew as he doesn’t play the way they think we should play. They want us to just play attacking possession football in which the likes of Martinez/Rodgers/Laudrup strive towards too. End of the day we don’t have that type of manager and I guess that’s why a lot still want him sacked and a foreign manager with this type of philosophy brought in.
  23. I agree with this, especially when in his interview after the match where he said he chose the tactic of taking the possession. So clearly he picks and chooses his games in which he thinks it's best to play counter football or like yesterday control the tempo. I said after the Southampton game i felt he was largely responsible for us not getting 3 points but i wasn't going to criticise too much because i felt he hasn't done too much wrong this season and been excellent overall.
