  1. Nah, I actually enjoy Simeone's tactic. If there's a way to defend his team does it the right way. Pressure, intensity and getting stuck in. Hate the park the bus stuff and boot it up front and wait for a mistake to happen. Atletico Madrid plays with such intensity it's amazing to watch in bigger games. Dirty as f*** too I think Carlo's found the 'right way' to defend. Simeone's Atleti are filthy, like His drilled his own personality into that of his side which is fantastic but i've just never got away with them all season. Amazing achievements already but in terms of style of play prefer the way say Rodgers has went about things rather than that of the Simeone way.
  2. I want a Madrid final. Don't care much for Simeone's tactics either but at least Simeone has his tactics in mind with an idea of actually countering with intent and purpose, not simply boot the ball up the pitch and give the opposition the ball back and then get back in position. Be an interesting game tonight rather than an exciting one i would imagine.
  3. Bayern lost so much shape in that first half it was hard to tell who was playing where. Once again Ribery came up trumps for me in me never seeing him look a class act on the big stage, how he was 6/4 at one point for the Ballon D'or is beyond me. Major torunaments for France or big CL games i rarely see Ribery come to the top, give me Robben anyday of the week.
  4. It was great to finally see someone take care of Robben. HE CUTS INSIDE EVERY TIME. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO DEFEND AGAINST. Sure enough every time he cut inside over the two legs there was someone there to meet him and disposes him. Can't believe it took this long. Tbf, how many teams have actually looked at Robben and brought the spare man over from CM/DM or CB covering and they still have failed to stop him. He's a class act, the fullback knows he's cutting inside, his cover play will know he's cutting inside yet time and time again, he'll cut in and still get his shot away. He did it last night still when be bent it just past the far post. It does sound easy to stop, you're right there but he's world class and so effective that the task of stopping it is far greater than it may seem, but Real did do a superb job of it.
  5. Hala Madrid! What a performance! Once again just completely nullified Pep and his ideas, he had no answer for it, absolutely nothing. Real took advantage on set pieces and exploited the counter to perfection once again. Could have been more but they knew tie was in the bag and went easy. Gutted for Alonso, should have know better but that's football, heat of the moment. Could see his regret and agony the moment the contact was made, must be a horrific feeling.
  6. C'mon, can't be rooting for zee Germans!
  7. Aye he was below his usual standards tbf. Not arguing with the team, it's quality and think it might do the job.
  8. I would have just played Bale and Ronaldo as the 'front two' and played Isco instead of Benzema then used same counter tactics that have served them well of late. Should be a cracker this though, cmon Real.

    Dan Gosling

Tbf to Gosling, he's always looking to get in space and get on the ball. We just don't want him on the ball, but bless the lad is trying, he's just shit. I don't hate him, it's not his fault he's being picked and is shit.
  10. Sound lad but not someone you'd take too seriously on his football opinions

    Dan Gosling

Aye, a toilet attendant, change of profession would do him the world of good. He can take his bullshit talk into that role perfectly.
  12. He was in paper (chronicle?) just last week talking about the current mess. Basically said fans are right to be angry, form is far from good enough, been missing big players and we need a win or two before end of the season.
  13. Ex pro/coach John Sitton. Never heard of him tbh
  14. Actually yes I do, when it seemed like our player could have got in first but just went over whoever's head it was and he came out and caught it in the first half? Aye, pretty much what Krul should have been doing, stepping forward to come and claim the ball.
  15. Exactly, we took a near identical one that Chesney Hawkes took 6 yards out, Krul was at fault in my opinion. Can't really remember the Chesney one but Krul has to come out and claim that freekick, was very indecisive by him, seemed to step back rather than forward.
  16. Imo, if a freekick comes in like that and lands pretty much in the 6 yard box, you've got to question why the keeper hasn't took command and came and took control on the situation. Instead he just watched the flight of it land practically at his feet and was waiting for the ball to arrive to him before Kos nipped in when he should have been stepping forward to meet the ball and catch it.
  17. We did look fairly organised and comfortable for the first half an hour I thought, but he set up for that and our attacking threat was non-existent. Krul's mistake and then the game is over. That's not Krul's fault for the losing us the game, it's Pardew's for nullifying any attacking threat we had. I felt embarrassed for Armstrong coming on for the sake of 5 minutes 3 nil down, waste of time for the lad.
  18. But if you want us to lose surely you're hoping for a bad performance? Especially if you want 4/5/6 against? I'm not of this opinion, I wish colo had a stormer and we battered Arsenal. Wasn't to be though and we put in another poor display.
  19. Was just thinking the same, bemoaning Colo that we got beat but they wanted us to get beat? Doesn't make sense. If he had a stormer and gained us a point they would be moaning he's helped Pardew...
  20. I hate arsenal fans, like. Up with the worst in the country. Piers Morgan epitomises them.
  21. Well done Jordan and the others who held up their banners and cards, but the protests were muted vocally and until that changes, Pardew stays. Completely true. He'll probably think it's a small minority at this point. Protests were loud, clear and relatively constant in the away end, were they not loud on the tv? (Seriously question, just read this back and it sound like I'm being an arsehole) Good job imo, could only here you lot chanting, hardly heard Arsenal (no surprises)
  22. Absolute joke these comments, sit at home and listen out for the chants. Why not spend your money and travel to London to voice concern and get the odd thousand to join in since it seems so simple to you? Instead you watch from TV then criticise how vocal our fans were, which in fact were perfectly reasonable given the scoreline and dire situation we are in, our fans did ourselves proud once again. Shambolic saying they didn't do enough or were 'muted'.
