Yeah, that's why I've spent the last year advocating a solid, physical CB signing like Shawcross that we can pair with Mbiwa. Quality nonsense as per. Colo/Mbiwa...Colo/Taylor...? Colo is here to stay and will be captain. You would prefer your lover Taylor rather than stick by the class of Mbiwa and watch him and Colo work towards a partnership together. Obviously you would sell Colo as you hate him...even though he was still far and way the best CB at Anfield recently with the other two plonkers beside him.

I lost my final straw after the scapegoat HBA sub away at Southampton. I absolutely love ben arfa, I think he's problematic, I think he has issues, I think he's difficult to manage but no way in hell does he deserve the way he's been treated this season. It's been on the very verge of bullying by Pardew, deliberately putting him out in the spotlight then picking on him at the first chance he got. Debuchy entering calculations to why HBA has been dropped is mind boggling.
-
Erm you're the one with reservations about Mbiwa, yet loves hard man Taylor instead of him. Now here you are having the audacity to pick out Debuchy faults for an excuse to why HBA doesn't play as much. So who is your RB replacement for Debuchy then? (to let Ben Arfa play)
-
He's a RB, any RB in the world will have to deal with them situations. He's not as bad as you make him out to be at them. In fact there's very few in the league i'd actually swap him for. To think we should even consider who is ahead of him simply to help in this 'one on one' situation is ludicrous.

Even though the scoreline was 0-0, I found it to be an excellent final in which both teams gave everything and showed desire to win the game. Thought it was hard to decide who deserved to win the match in the end, no clear cut winner but Sevilla's pens were a class above and came out on top. Credit to both managers, neither tried to spoil the game but only played to their own strengths regardless of opposition.
-
Don't think that has anything to do with it tbh, even when Debuchy was injured Ben Arfa still hardly played at all. Well, yeah, because the replacements were even worse in that respect. Wtf is this 'being exposed'? Fair enough when he arrived he was caught out a lot, start of the season maybe as well, since then he's grown into a top defender. Blaming him for Ben Arfa being out is crazy, he's no more 'exposed' than any other RB in the league.

Loved that article, spot on

Aye, obviously expect at least one 'canny' team but at 4/5 I think that's a great price, bar any fights and eruptions in the French camp this time around they should be topping that group.
-
TBF to Deschamps he'll have to f*** up on a major scale not to walk in to the knockout stages. Luckily he probably has it in his locker to do so though. 4/5 to win their group. I think that's the best group bet of them all.

I've went for Moore on the queen's horse but at that price probably worth going for Cambridge, good value at 9/2.

I think Cardiff would have stayed up under Mackay. I hope Cardiff stick by Ole though, young manager, come to the league and struggled but should be given the chance to get back next year, same with Magath. Although I feel Fulham were f***ed regardless of who was in charge, their season was just a mess. No way for Ole. He's so out of his depth. Signed horrific players and made them a worse team. Aye, he had a horrible 6 months and was a big responsibility for them going down but he did a good job with Molde and I would give him the chance to learn from his mistakes and see how he gets on in the Championship.

I don't really know much about Mel, but what I will say is that generally the club have a better idea of what sort of job the manager is doing than those on the outside. We got slaughtered for binning Big Sam by the southern press, but I don't see many of them sticking up for the fat c*** now he's on the verge of the boot at West Ham. It's all very well saying that you need stability but you can count on one hand the managers who actually deserve it. I would far rather have a chairman prepared to act if he thought the manager wasn't up to it. I think the managers who have experience of the PL and English football should certainly be expected to get results quicker than a foreign import manager. They should be given more time to adapt to the style of English football and implement their ideas. Managers like Allardyce/Hughes/Pulis/Moyes already have their style for the league and a case of just transferring it into the club.

That's my point though, Mel/Mulensteen were in the job 2/3 months and they are sacked because they didn't pull up any trees in that period. Don't know why owners/fans expect instant success once a change is made. They've inherited a squad in a poor position who won't be used to the new managers ideas and will take time to adapt to their philosophies. Both of them have never managed in the PL and aren't even given the chance to adapt, get sacked and are labelled shit.
-
So all these managers getting the sack after a few months are s***? Nope but Mel was the wrong fit, . Sherwood wasn't good enought, ditto Moyes. Jol was s*** at fulham. Di Canio at Sunderland. I can't really think of any that didn't deserve it tbh Mackay? Meulensteen?

Nah i'm not one for agreeing with sacking after sacking, like. I think Mel has been hard done by, not sure what West Brom expect a few months into a job. Fulham had one of the worlds most renowned coaches, give him a chance as manager then got rid soon as it got tough. Think it's all becoming a bit of a farce tbh how many sackings their is of late. A manager should be given time to develop their ideas over a period of time and not expected to have instant results/success, especially the foreign managers from abroad who will need time to adapt their style on the club and get used to the league.
-
If someone came in and had a shit 12 months, i'd like to hope the fans stick with the manager since they called for the change and Ashley continues to back him. Don't want to suddenly start reeling through managers every 6 months, that's even more of a laughing stock. Hate owners that show no faith in their own appointments. Fair enough now that it's become clear Pardew has become stale and struggling to take us forward but he's been given the time, like to hope our next appointment is given the same opportunity.

Hang on, I don't think this is the case. I think Mbiwa could be a top CB in the PL with a manager's confidence and backing. Well, yeah, I think that too. But in January 2013 we needed a dominant, physical CB ready to just slot into the side, as alluded to. Well that's what Pardew wanted but got Mbiwa. Buying players simply because they were the right price. I was thinking Colo must be leaving hence him being his replacement but he looks set to stay another season. As much as I love Colo, it's just holding us back further not giving Mbiwa the gametime in his correct position.

Hang on, I don't think this is the case. I think Mbiwa could be a top CB in the PL with a manager's confidence and backing. Along with thinking Anita could be an excellent cog in a side who play to his strengths, we just don't have such a manager, thus them failing/underperforming. What I think makes zero sense is just buying players who are bargains at the time then passing them over to Pardew regardless if our team needs that type of player or not, or if Pardew simply doesn't want him. Just causes a miserable player at the club, fan frustration and in the end wasted money. Carr and Pardew will have to work more closely together if Pardew is to stay otherwise the Mbiwa situation will just keep on occurring.
