  1. But we didn't? We won... Not like we did a Southampton earlier! Ifs and buts over a very good result, no need to put a negative spin on things.
  2. Excellent all around performance. Showed skill and flair first half then showed heart and carachter in the second. Goal on stroke of ht gave West Ham hope and belief, they missed two glorious chances but we handled everything they threw at us. Long ball after long ball but we refused to cave in. Promising performance showing the lads haven't gave up the season already and willing to fight for every point possible.

    Papiss Cissé

Cisse should be back in the side imo and stick with him. A lot kind of wanted him out of the side earlier in the season but only for a bit of a kick up the backside, not to feature every now and then for 15 minutes. Think he's been harshly frozen out of a starting position, especially now when no other striker is performing well.
  4. Gerrard has been in very good form this season, probably the best football he's been playing over last couple of year. Have no complaints with him being captain and starting. Still need to have experienced players amongst the youth. Lampard has lost his place and rightly so.
  5. Cole is better than Baines, imo. Cole has arguably been England's most consistent player in major tournaments. Always seems to be one of a few who walk away with any sort of credit. Agree that in major tournaments, your best players should be getting played if they are 33 or 19 however. Age shouldn’t matter when it comes to the starting 11.
  6. I wouldn't take Defoe either myself. Hardly plays for Spurs, he's now 31 and has basically accepted his career is over by signing for Toronto. No way should he have a seat on the plane.
  7. Not much mileage in picking Baines after this WC . I'd get Shaw straight in personally. Let's get a future built the quicker the better. It's harsh on Baines but i agree that we should just skip past him now and move on to developing Shaw. Think Cole should still be one of the first on the team sheet this WC but after that look to bring in new blood.
  8. I'd still take De Jong now, but i wouldn't go higher than 8 million. That's why couldn't understand people making a big fuss of our bid of million pound loan then 6 million fee int he summer. Think that's a reasonable sort of price for him.
  9. Can't really remember tbh, just remember watching him and thinking we've dodged a 12 million pound bullet with this lad. He was breaking down his teams attacks rather than being on the end of them
  10. I met Jonas earlier in the season whilst he just got injured and he told me himself that he'd already been told he wouldn't be playing as regular as he was in previous seasons. So it couldn't have been that much of a shock after a lengthy lay off and the team playing well without him that he's told it would be best for him to find a new club. Don't believe it's simply find a new club then nothing else. Not that Jonas is in the wrong either for his comments. He's moved on now and it's best for all parties concerned.
  11. It was basically that for the whole under 21 tournament in the summer. Wijnaldum superb amongst a couple of other classy midfielders then the plank up front who didn't really do anything. Really hope he was just in poor form or something then, think he did manage to grab one goal at somepoint.
  12. Being questioned to why he's moving on without Jonas and not explaining the situation. Can't make this s*** up I'm no fan of Jonas and i'm not that bothered with Pardew being ruthless, he ought to be with a few others but, a model pro like Jonas probably deserves an explanation don't you think? Doesn't that just seem like common courtesy? I can't see how he probably doesn't already know the reason. If you get told to move on from somewhere, your first question would be why?...What would Pardew have said? 'Don't question me, just find another club.. now leave my office'? It’s probably something Jonas doesn’t really want to explain himself and by saying he doesn’t really know why just avoids telling the fans of his new club that he’s not very good anymore.
  13. No coincidence that this is coming from a Pardew fan like. Utterly clueless. Pathetic
  14. Being questioned to why he's moving on without Jonas and not explaining the situation. Can't make this shit up
  15. Well he's tried Cabaye/Ben Arfa/Sissoko in the role, he's kind of running out of options really. I don't particuarly like any of them in that position as they are better elsewhere. Would help if we just signed someone who is suitable for that role.
  16. Man City would have easily won the midfield battle and put 2-3 goals past us. Have to disagree. They struggled to cope with Ben Arfa for even 10 minutes. Anita/Tiote had the midfield battle in their pockets, wasn't until Anita came off we stopped picking up the second balls and lost control. Cabaye was the one who was looking ineffective behind Remy from an attacking point of view. I don't like Cabaye in that role at all. Me either, don't think we really have one. Would have liked to seen Marv dropped in there for 15 minutes against City though.

  18. Sometimes it's best to just move on, the team had moved on without him and there wasn't looking like a way back for him and he'd be an expensive squad memeber to have. Stuff about the contract maybe true, who knows, but end of the day, the right decision has been made to let him look elsewhere and get rid.
  19. If you were watching, Venky...your opinion would have been that we were lucky to win
  20. He certainly doesn't help himself with his reserve performances tbf. Jonas has played a couple of games recently and showed just how easy you can make that level look. Whilst Marv just lets the game pass him by and looks like he's just filling up the numbers.
